Trailer Lane Campground

My husband and I had a great time tent camping here!! We went during the off-season so it was extra quiet and the whole place was elaborately decorated for Halloween - including a haunted walk-through path, which was such a treat! There was a heated bathroom with showers and a cute camp store as well. Being next to I5 there was car noise but we found it to be more like white-noise than annoying. Our tent site was in the main part of the camp, but we walked up the short hill to where the other tent sites are and Mt Shasta is right there staring you down! It was beautiful. Also a bonus was all the farm animals! There were chickens, roosters, turkeys, goats, and more, and two cute little camp kittens led us around when we were exploring. We didn't get a chance during our short stay to meet the host, but she's provided such a fun and comfortable place to stay and we would definitely stay there again.

I can highly recommend this camping site. The views of the mountains and stars at night are incredible! We stayed at T5 site and didn’t have any problems at all to drive on the gravel road up there. We managed to do this with a small Prius. The camp site has also a small shop where we could buy souvenirs and essentials. At night they also had a small Halloween party, which was fun to attend. The bathrooms next to our campsite were very clean and well maintained. Five out of five stars !

Clean friendly and easy to get to!

Really enjoyed our quick stay with three dogs. Easy to find, and everything you need, clearly marked, clean and well organized. This will become a regular stop on our CA to OR trips!

Best if you arrive before dusk

The campground is nice and having a hot shower and bathroom with power was great. The views are fantastic from the upper campsites. Host was communicative and polite. Directly next to I5 and train tracks, but I was able to sleep through those sounds. I booked upper campsite T5, but they moved me to site T1 because I was arriving after dark. The listing does mention this, but I did not notice this wording in the listing, so I should have paid more attention. The gravel road to the upper campsites doesn't look overly steep to me, so I wish they would have allowed me to camp in the site I booked, but I assume this is based on their experience so I'll trust them that this is what works for their business. Site T1 that they moved me to was disappointing. It was a single parking space with a picnic table and no view. There isn't enough room for a tent AND a car, only one or the other, unless you block the road or what's listed as a trail on the map. I was sleeping in my car, so that was acceptable, but you may want to clarify with the hosts where you're allowed to park and set up your tent before booking. The ground was somewhat level, but I couldn't get less than a 3% angle after trying various parking configurations. Overall it served my needs because I just needed a place to sleep overnight, but I'd only return if I was arriving before dusk and could get one of the upper sites.

C7 RV Site: Pull Thru

Karen and her husband we very welcoming and did all they could to accommodate us as quickly as possible. A storm came in the night before and knocked power out. They were able to get the power back on and were able to relocate us to a site with power. The place was very well maintained and the short hike to the top of the hill gave us spectacular views of Mt Shasta. The goats, chicken and other wildlife were definitely a welcoming touch. Thank you Karen and Trailer Lane for a very nice stay!!!!

1961 Shasta Airflyte Vintage Camper

A wonderful place to camp!! Location was perfect for our travels and we enjoyed a stunning sunset. Karen and jay were very accommodating. And the amenities were beyond our expectations. Will definitely stay there again in the future!

Super cool retro camper!

Sugar Shasta was so much fun to stay in. The decor was really cool and the camper was very clean. It came equipped with everything I needed and I slept well and felt safe (traveling solo). The bathrooms were very clean and the camper came with travel size toiletries which I thought was a really nice touch. They have chickens and really friendly goats along with a slew of other birds that were fun to visit with and there's a really wonderful view of Mount Shasta if you go to the back of the campground and follow the road past the chicken coops up the hill. A few things you may consider for your stay: I recommend ear plugs as this particular unit is right near a fairly busy road. With the earplugs, I slept very well. There isn't much light so if you are a night time reader, bring a reading light. Karen and Jay are very nice and accommodating. Should I happen to cross through Weed again, I would definitely stay here!

STR 5 Denali "Base Camp" Travel Trailer

I really enjoyed my stay in STR 5 Denali "Base Camp" Travel Trailer in Trailer Lane Campground near Weed, CA. The property grounds were lovely and clean. The trailer was very clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. It was fully stocked with bed linens, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. The campground has an awesome gathering area with fire pit, a fully enclosed dog run, and resident chickens. Highly recommend! When you are there stop at Ellie's Bakery and Shasta Brewing for good food!

The view from our campsite was stunning! The campground itself is very well kept and had everything we could have needed. Hosts were very responsive. The bathrooms also exceeded expectations. The only thing to be aware of is that the tent spots are up on a hill, and it got pretty windy. We uses straps to secure our tent by attaching them to trees, since the stakes wouldn't go into the ground, so be prepared for that. Otherwise, would definitely recommend this site!

We ended up not staying here because the peak was exposed and windy when the forest below was very calm. But if you have a sturdy tent it shouldn’t be a problem. Everything else was great and the view was amazing.

This is a convenient and friendly campground with RV hookups as well as tent camping up the hill. They very kindly accommodated a sudden change in my arrival date with no issues. The tent area has very nice bathrooms and showers, but lacks shade. You do get some noise from nearby I-5. It is a great option if you are in the Shasta area.

This place was wonderful! The views are gorgeous, and the atmosphere was very serene. I was at site T5 and loved it. I was also very impressed by the bathrooms - really nice flush toilets and showers! Would definitely recommend for car or tent camping.

Chaparral Loop: Tent Site T2

The view of Mt. Shasta makes this site, but there were definite downsides. The campground had a one-way gravel road with a steep grade - the host reached out to give us a heads up about it a couple days before arrival but it wasn't clear upon booking that low-clearance vehicles could have difficulty accessing the site. The site itself had very little shade and the noise from the road made it difficult for my partner and myself to sleep. It was unclear if any potable water was available. One of the two bathroom stalls had a mouse living in it. What kinda got to me was the site I specifically booked for the unobstructed view of the mountain and its added privacy with being further from the bathrooms and other sites, was given to a family and I was not notified prior to arrival that they moved me to a different site. I would have appreciated the communication prior to arrival.
