We loved our stay at Kat’s little house. It’s such a cozy and relaxing getaway for our family. Kat is a great host — very responsive and easy to communicate with. The home is well-equipped with everything we needed, including comfy beds, cookware, dishes and a BBQ grill. The apple turnovers are yummy!

Honeymoon

What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

Amazing Apple Turnovers!

Great location! My stay at the Foxes Farm was exactly what I was looking for. It was calm and quiet and allowed me a chance to relax and recharge. Kat and Steve were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming and super friendly. I highly recommend getting the apple turnovers! They were amazing and reason enough to stay here again.

Kat’s place was a perfect overnight spot. It was nice to have a full bathroom. Quiet and safe. Loved waking up to the roosters. The apple turnovers were honestly the best I’ve ever had!

What I loved about the Farm View site was an electric hook up and the use of a clean bathroom and shower. Please note this is a farming community with chickens (roosters) and dogs in the neighborhood. That is the noise that is around. There are other people on the property at other sites. Kat is super accommodating and nice. I have stayed here twice and hope to be back.

We had such a great stay at Kat’s! It was very comfortable with all the hook-ups for our trailer. Our sweet dogs were so happy to have the freedom to be off-leash during our stay. Definitely recommend!

We needed a getaway from the city that’s not too far and this farm house was perfect. The area was quiet, the owners are really nice, and the house is cute. I slept in the loft upstairs, got a little warm, I wish the windows had screens. And my one complaint is that the house was not clean

Kat and Steve go above and beyond

Kat and Steve are amazing hosts! We had a tire sidewall blow out a few miles from their farm. I called Kat to let her know that we'd be arriving late. She offered to help and within a few minutes, she and Steve arrived with their truck, tire repair materials, and an air compressor. If I had let him, Steve would have found a way to get the tire to hold air. But, since I had free towing, the offered to take our trailer, my wife, and our dog the rest of the way to the farm while I waited for a tow. We really enjoyed our stay at their farm. It was peaceful and the camp sites were large with vegetation between them. There were two other campers there. They were friendly, though we barely saw/heard them. And, the hot shower was greatly appreciated after the tire ordeal. Steve is an amazing baker and Kat and Steve were so welcoming and thoughtful. As if rescuing us wasn't enough, they invited us and the other campers over in the evening to chat and eat freshly baked apple pie. We look forward to staying there again when traveling in Northern California.

People were not kidding about how delicious the apple turnovers were. You get six of them and we happily devoured them. The cabin was also very cute. Unfortunately, the cleanliness left much to be desired. The floor under the kitchen table hadn’t been swept, the fridge needs to be more thoroughly cleaned, the ceiling and lights were decorated with webs, the stove had a layer of grease, and the bathroom surfaces also needed to be wiped. We were also concerned that the side door couldn’t be locked but we were only around for a night and too exhausted to make a fuss about anything.

First and foremost, Kat & Steve are amazing people and hosts! We came as a large group of 15 (6 adults and 9 kids) and stayed in tents. The facilities were excellent — clean, well-kept, and convenient. Having access to both power and water made the stay especially comfortable and easy to manage with kids. The property has a warm and welcoming vibe that made everyone feel at home right away. The kids had plenty of space to run around and explore, while the adults could relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. Kat & Steve were thoughtful, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.

Kiddo loved the weekend there!

I wanted to take my four-year-old camping for Labor Day weekend. I booked two weeks before, and we pulled up to meet the Foxes. Gems of humans and like becoming their 30th grandkid. Firewood ignited immediately so even the most novice fire builder will be successful. My daughter was adopted by kids in the next site over, and it felt like a cousins weekend. But the other sites felt more cut off from all that, if that’s not what you’re looking for. Recommend the Barbara Morse Wackford Community & Aquatic Complex in Elk Grove for a hot summer day trip. The Cattail Island spot is just that with dragonflies buzzing overhead at dusk and a few frogs singing you to sleep in a site with pretty good privacy considering it’s in someone’s backyard. Full bathroom with ADA shower and laundry, so that would be great for people in the middle of a longer road trip. Long story short, I got to camp with my daughter by ourselves, but it felt like we were immediately part of a bigger family for the weekend. We will absolutely keep this spot on our radar for other holiday weekends. Hope to see you again, Foxes!

Peaceful, Thrifting Weekend

Quiet and peaceful stay. We got end a little later on Friday night but no worries they helped us get our camper in and hooked up. Saturday am our apple turnovers were delivers! YUMMY! We spent the day thrifting. Saturday night we had a fire and relaxed. Sunday we had a lovely breakfast ordered on the patio. The waffles were delicious and high protein! Sunday we went to the Folsom Flea Market and left with some goodies. Sunday night we grilled ribeyes and sat by the fire. At our site we could hear the farm animals at the next property- which we enjoyed. They were not too loud or annoying; just a nice reminder of being in the country. Wilton has an adorable antique shop- be sure to stop in. If you’re a thrifter- there were lots of shops in a 15-20 mile radius. We will be back! Thank you both for a lovely weekend.

Fun and peaceful countryside

We stayed at the Fox's land for the third time with our family. It was as beautiful and fun as always. We enjoy the peaceful countryside very much. The kids had so much fun with the trampoline and open space. Kat and Steve are wonderful hosts, very kind and welcoming. We hope to come back soon.

Private, Peaceful, Paradise

The camp site was private and spacious. The sound of the creek was really pleasant, and there is a tree you can put your tent under to prevent being hit with the sun first thing in the morning! The bathroom and amenities were very convenient, as was access to everything. I really liked this place and watched a beautiful sunset from my site. As I packed up to leave in the morning, I was greeted by the friendly and adorable barn kitty! All around great stay!

Must get the Apple Turnovers!!

Kat met us near the entrance and let us pick the spot that worked best for us. We chose one we thought we would get the most shade in and it was a nice, private space. It had electric and water hookups. There was another drive so we did not have to pull out the same way we pulled in, which helped us with our 31 ft travel trailer. Do not sleep on those apple turnovers! They are beyond fantastic! I haven't stopped thinking about them since we had them. I wonder if they ship? :D We chose to do laundry here and were able to hang dry our clothes because we had multiple trees. Hosts were great, responsive and friendly. We would stay here again.

Due to a long travel we booked last minute and arrived late (9:30pm) The owner was super accommodating and met us upon arrival to show us where to park and where the shower/bathroom was. We wish we got to stay longer! The property was beautiful, clean, and the amenities in great working order! It’s awesome that they also offer little extras such as apple turn overs, laundry, etc. If we’re ever in the area we will be back again!!

We stayed here about a week ago on our way through to Disney from Washington state. Private. Quiet. Easy stay. Just the right size for our two kids and adults. We came back on the return trip. Apple turnovers were awesome! The host family is very welcoming and enjoyed speaking to them.

We and our 2 dogs enjoyed camping at Kat's! We weren't too worried about them roaming around since her land was almost all fenced off. She was a great host and provided a nice space and friendly hospitality especially in the heat! We ordered some apple turnovers and highly recommend them-- so flaky, yum! Thank you~
