If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with a few close friends or your family, this option is for you. Tucked in along the South Fork of the American River, this beautiful campsite features picnic benches, a propane fire pit with propane included (fire pits help prevent wildfires), and a prep table for fixing up those tasty fireside meals. Guests also have access to shared bathroom facilities (and yes, there are showers!), volleyball, ping pong, communal benches, a sink and dishwashing station, and a common swimming area along the river. Most sites are within a very short walking distance to the banks of the South Fork of the American River, this place is ideal for anyone interested in experiencing the beauty of the foothills and the rush of the river. We offer both tent and RV sites. Each RV site includes its own picnic table, water and (30Amp) power hookups. Guests will also have access to our volleyball court, ping pong, communal benches, and a common area with a sink and dishwashing station. Additionally, you can access the swim area and go for a dip to cool off on a hot day. If you're looking to steal some time away to reconnect and camp, this is the place for you. People of all ages can camp out, swim, and play. We offer toilets, showers, trash disposal, potable water and more depending on the site you chose. Pets are allowed as well. Enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paddling, climbing, swimming, whitewater rafting, and wildlife watching all nearby, or on site.

Moe RV Site
I was at the Moe RV site for a week last month. The site is suitable for a smaller trailer and has water/elec hookup. The site is shady, clean and is not too close to the other sites. There are 3 toilets and 2 showers in a trailer on site. The showers are quite basic but the water if hot. The host were very nice and friendly, checking with me several times to make sure everything was fine and that I didn't need anything. Access to the river was a short 2 min walk down the hill.

Curley RV Site
Small beach, beautiful river
The photos of the sites could be better shown in photos, like the main road goes right in front of the RV/trailer sites. River is beautiful. Can get crowded with groups in the other sites so there could be a few more sites along the river leveled so we can all get to the river

Our family had the best time at Rockin River. The campsite was private, clean and close to the river. The bathrooms and amenities are a short walk and well maintained. We met the host once and he told us information about the river and went over some ground rules. He was easy going and nice to chat with. We will definitely return. Loved our stay! Thank you!

Oak Tent Site
Great trip by the river
We had a great time camping at the Oak campsite - it had lots of space for tents, 5 picnic tables for storage/eating/cooking, a medium size propane firepit, and a sink with potable water. The biggest draw was the proximity to the river - it was maybe a 5 min walk to the riverbank, where we spent pretty much the entire day (the 100ºF weather didn't feel so bad when we were in the cold water). Note - while it wasn't a big deal for us, the 2 showers had a long line in the evenings and the communal "kitchen" area was a bit less functional than expected, so make sure to bring your own camp stoves for cooking.

Happy Campers!
One of the best Hipcamp sites I’ve stayed at!! The covered picnic bench area was a must for protection from the sun. Having a sink at our site and real (and clean!) toilets nearby felt luxurious! Also, the sites were far enough away from each so you had your own private space but you could commune with other campers at the river. The area is so beautiful!!! And the hosts were amazing!! They even stopped by to collect garbage from us to make our exit easier for us. Can’t wait to come back!!! Love!💗
