Cindy and her husband were very gracious to us. We arrived late and had difficulty finding their driveway. They came out to the main highway with their lights on and guided us in and provided us with a nice spot with hookups on a holiday weekend with out reservations. We are very grateful for their kindness.

The family that runs this space is doing the whole community an incredible service, it is a community oriented space that deserves support from all. We had an incredible time, the facilities were well maintained, the staff were incredibl hospitable. Beautiful scenery, comfortable family atmosphere, relaxed vibe. My boyfriend says "Those people are keeping that county intact." We give this place a million out of ten, highly recommend.

The camping facility is a dirt parking lot with trash and dog poop all around. Unfortunately, a big camper with a loud generator noise filled up the space. I left earlier, as did others. I would never want to repeat this experience.

So this was a parking lot with 0 shade. We showed up in 95 degree heat with a child running the desk and no one else in sight. When we asked if we could set up in the only shaded lot of all the empty lots it was explained that the 40 dollars to hypcamp a night was only for use of the gravel parking lot and that the shade would be another 40. Staff may be nice and I’m sure people like the artificial hot springs but we found much nicer experience an hour south at Santa margarita lake for the same price

Cindy and her husband were delightful. We just needed a place to camp with our rooftop tent, a bathroom and a shower for a gravel bike race I was competing in. The bonus was the natural hot springs which were used before and after the race. You’ll get used to the sulphur smell after awhile. You notice it more outside of the pool. Don’t expect a resort. This is a fun, quirky and unique property that fit our agenda.
A little disappointed in some of the “day use” people who were a little trashy and had a difficult time picking up after themselves, garbage, swimsuits, towels, pool noodles, etc. After 9pm or early in the morning is the best time to enjoy the hot springs and avoid the riff raff. Bring mosquito repellent, which I forgot to bring. Since you’re camping near a small lake/creek that doesn’t move, the bugs will feast. The goats, ducks and geese were pretty cool. About 10 mins away from downtown Paso, and close to the start of my race at Castoro Cellars, this was a good option for us.

Too expensive for what you get.
This camp site had such potential, but it was very disappointing. The shared kitchen space was a complete mess and the tent area was very uneven with no shade. Using the strong smelling super hot springs was enjoyable. Plus Hip Camp charged $50 a day, whereas the camping fee at location was $20.

The place resembled a junk yard. Loads of random stuff on the property. The check in center, hot springs and BBQ area were run down and dirty. A colony of feral cats roamed about. Looked like a few people lived there permanently. No privacy as tent and car camping area is small and crowded. Check-in process was simple enough.

Beautifully primitive camping tucked away in Paso!!! Clear, fast, and genuine communication with the Franklins. Absolutely recommend.

What a cool place to stay! We enjoyed getting the hot springs to ourselves after hours and fitting in a warm soak in the morning. The hot springs are right where you camp, just a few steps away. They have an outdoor kitchen available for use, clean restrooms, and a shower. The water does smell strongly if sulfur though.
