Family-owned since the 1960's my parents chose this ridgetop location on 10 acres for its beauty, serenity, bio-diversity, and amazing peaceful healing energy. The main house is called Rainbow Ridge where a double rainbow appears across the skyline on occasion. We have decided to share this land with conscious folks who want to retreat to the woods from the hustle and bustle but be close to all the action and have all the creature comforts of home with a camping vibe. We have one private site with a glamorous A Frame cabin and a modern tiny home and a tiny retro trailer. The site comes as one single package and is exclusive to you and your group! Nestled on its own private 3-acre redwood and oak forest, leading down to a creek. The site is located just 4 miles (10 min drive ) from Soquel Village and just 5 miles from the beach at Capitola. The site offers: - A 20ft modern container home with one queen sofa bed, large screen with Apple TV, kitchen, patio, fridge, microwave, cooktop, shower, and toilet. - A custom, outdoor kitchen, and bar for entertaining with gas BBQ, fridge freezer, sink with hot and cold filtered water, Sonos sound system. - Large gas fire pit and seating area. - One A Frame eco cabin with option for one king size day bed OR two singles, A twin mattress can also fit in the cabin when in the two singles configuration. The cabin has electricity, fan and heating for colder nights. - One very cute retro airstream style 1950's trailer with a twin bed for a couple or one person. - Space for 1-2 additional tents. For groups of 8 or more and special events please contact us so we can discuss the possibilities. - Onsite you should find all the basic amenities from home including all bedding, towels, kitchenware, cooking utensils, dining ware, herbs and spices, cleaning products, gas for the BBQ and fire pit is included etc. There are a few things you should bring: Food, drinks, ice and fun! The site looks down into a private and secluded redwood and oak forest with trails for small hikes into the redwood fairy circles or all the way down to the creek. The glamping site is on a sunny flat area surrounded by steep terrain up to a ridgeline and down to the creek. The creek is accessible although the final route requires a rope down so may not be suitable for everyone. Within 15-20 min drive you will find almost all major attractions in the Santa Cruz area including The Mistery Spot, Nisene Marks State Forest, Capitola Pier, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and many famous surf breaks from Capitola to The Point, The Hook, Steamer Lane and many more., as well as many amazing mountain bike trails. There are also several Santa Cruz Mountain wineries to explore in a 3- 5 mile radius. Further afield you will find Monterey Bay Aquarium and the coastal beaches north up to San Francisco Bay ( 1 hour 30 mins north) and down to Big Sur about 1 hour 20 mins south. We ask all our visitors to be respectful of the environment, our wildlife, and our neighbors. Please drive slowly and respect the quiet times: between 9.30 pm and 8.30 am. We check all our guests in and provide a quick tour. We can offer a number of additional amenities and services including shopping, stocking up on your favorite supplies, catering, romantic packages and special picnics on the Rainbow Ridge, and much more, so please just ask about all the possibilities.NOTE: We have replaced our Bell Tent with an amazing eco cabin and have added a super cute 1950's airstream style trailer with a bed. A Magical Stay

We had the most incredible time at Redwood Basin HipCamp! The A-frame has absolutely amazing views, and the container setup was perfect with a clean restroom, great shower, and a super comfortable sleeping space. The Airstream was cute, fun, and such a unique touch. Our kids loved pitching a tent as well right on the property, and the outdoor kitchen was one of our favorite parts, beautifully stocked and so easy to cook in. The outdoor shower and bath tucked into the redwoods is truly unmatched… such a peaceful, unforgettable experience. And the trampoline in the middle of the trees? So fun! Our whole family had a blast. To top it all off, the host was wonderful, responsive, helpful, and made everything feel easy. We can’t recommend Redwood Basin enough. We’ll definitely be back!

Memorable glamping fun!

We had such a memorable experience staying here! It was more than we normally spend on accommodations, but it was worth it for how unique and special our time was here. The kids absolutely loved the trampoline in the circle of redwoods. My sister strung up her hammock between two trees and I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee there while the kids bounced. I had the best bath of my life in the outdoor tub - it was a perfect size, the water was nice and hot, and the cool November air kept me cool while I enjoyed the view and the twinkle lights. We got a lot of use out of the fire pit (and outdoor blankets) and the stocked outdoor kitchen. It was handy to have a sink and mini-fridge both outside in the kitchen and in the shipping container near the coffee maker. We were so lucky it didn't rain so we could enjoy all the outdoor spaces! The sleeping arrangements were perfect for 5 of us - the kids in the A-frame, my husband and me in the shipping container, and my sister and her small dog in the airstream. The A-frame beds were foam on wood (not mattresses), so may not be comfortable for everyone, but the A-frame was so cozy and fun and has such a beautiful view. The pull-out bed in the shipping container was very comfortable for me (5'8") and my husband (6') but he said his feet were hanging off a little. The small heaters in each space kept it nice and toasty, and there were plenty of blankets and pillows. Laura was so helpful. We highly recommend it!

Perfect First Glamping Experience!

I’m so glad I had my first glamping experience here! We had such a great time, and the kids absolutely loved the A-frame cabin. It’s a beautiful spot for stargazing, very clean, and had all the essentials we needed. The host, Laura, was wonderful, she greeted us and walked us through everything when we arrived. The property felt safe and private, and the kids were thrilled to spot deer and even a banana slug!

The perfect spot for a small family gathering! The hosts have thoughtfully supplied the kitchen area and the views of the surrounding redwoods are beautiful. Very peaceful and great to sit around the ‘fire’ in the evening and a wonderfully situated bathtub! Those with mobility issues will find the steps to the container challenging. The view from the bed of the A-frame is something special. Wonderful spot!

Redwood Basin was a dream escape for our out-of-town bridal wedding party. The A frame, retro trailer and container home are extremely comfortable, cozy and the absolutely adorable! The outdoor cast iron tub/shower was one of our groups favorite amenities. Bathing in the middle of the forest is an experience no one should miss out on! Making meals together in the outdoor kitchen was another favorite. The kitchen is very functional and stocked with all the necessary equipment. We were pleased to discover Instacart delivers to the site! Laura, the site host, was an absolute dream. She was extremely helpful and more than accommodating prior to and during our groups’ stay at her property. She gave local flower contacts to our wedding florist, recommendations for local massages, and gave the camp personalized thoughtful touches that made this stay a perfect refuge for our bridal party to socialize and prepare the last minute details for the wedding. We can’t wait to visit Redwood Basin camp again!

Loved glamping at Redwood Basin! This was our first time glamping and we greatly enjoyed the experience. There's 3 places with beds (the A frame, container home, a small trailer), enough room for 4-5 folks, and hanging out in the central area with the kitchen + firepit was very chill and relaxing, in addition to laying back at night to enjoy the starry skies, lovely view. The location is also great, within 20 minutes drive to nearby town (Soquel) and Santa Cruz, we took a day trip there as well.

What a great trip… Loved the A-frame, container abode and adorable RV combo nestled in the redwoods with outdoor kitchen and trampoline for the kids, this place meets the mark! Also a great location to get to the beaches, quaint towns and good restaurants. Had a great time with pop ins from deer and turkeys as well. Just about perfect and excellent responses and help when needed from Laura and Chief. Thanks again.

Paradise in the red woods

What a magical place and set up that created a trip memory for a lifetime for us, a group of adults. Getting there was already beautifully surrounded by redwoods and upon arriving who could’ve thought it got even better. A weekend paradise. Everything we saw was as pictured. Indoors were very clean, with towels for everyone. Outdoor kitchen has everything we needed for cooking from tools to spices. Going to town was a very quick easy drive. Evening around the bonfire set the mood for a great bonding time. Waking up to the beautiful trees and birdsongs was a treat. We didn’t use the tub so can’t comment on that. Shower in the shipping container had hot water and good water pressure. Communication with Chief was straight forward and easy- very responsive and timely. Thank you for sharing this place with us!

From the moment we arrived we knew we had found a slice of paradise. Nestled in the heart of nature, the surroundings were absolutely breathtaking—towering redwood trees, birdsong in the morning and scattered showers. The accommodations were equally amazing—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up with everything we could possibly need. Every detail felt intentional, creating the perfect balance between comfort and rustic charm. You can tell the owner truly cares about the land and the experience of their guests. The outdoor tub was a highlight! laura was absolutely wonderful. Kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate to ensure our stay was perfect. We left feeling refreshed and are already planning our return. If you're looking for a beautiful, soulful escape into nature with incredible an incredible host - peaceful vibes, this is the place. Simply perfect.

Family Time at Red Basin

Our stay at Red Basin was wonderful! The setup of the site was fantastic, and even though it rained one day, our 13-year-old had a great time and never felt bored. The real magic happened around the fire pit—it brought us together as a family in a way that rarely happens, especially with a teenager in the mix! We had heartfelt conversations and quality time that we’ll cherish forever. The site is located within a residential area, so there was some traffic noise from vehicles going up and down the hill and background noise from the workshops , but it didn’t detract too much from the experience. Laura, the host, was incredible—friendly, flexible, and super easy to communicate with. She made everything seamless for us, and we felt so welcomed. The trip ended up being a much-needed family getaway and a lovely way to celebrate a birthday. Highly recommend Red Basin for anyone looking for a cozy spot to reconnect and relax!

Absolutely gorgeous view and all the lodgings were great. Also enough room to pitch a 4-person tent which we did and wound up using the storage container as communal space. The cliffside of this site is significant, so we had to be extra attentive to our 1.5 year old toddler who loves to run around, which was a little stressful. Would definitely recommend but bring some kind of enclosure/play space if you’re bringing babies/toddlers.

Our stay in the Redwood Basin in Soquel was really great. The place is just as advertised…very charming and fully stocked. The outdoor kitchen and the gathering area around the fire pit were our favorite parts. Everything was easy to use and we had no trouble with mosquitoes or raccoons. Thank you!

Very serene location that is set up really well for hanging out with friends and family! We loved the outdoor kitchen and hangout space. Three different accommodations that are all unique and interesting made for convenient sleeping arrangements for our group. The Nolla A frame cabin is quite gorgeous and fun to have a big window to look out from at all hours of the day and night. Would very much love to return again!

What a wonderful glamping set up! The outdoor kitchen and soaking tub were awesome!! The small container home was we'll equipped and the A frame was magical. Even the little 71 year old camping trailer was super cool & very retro. My boys enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and exploring the surrounding redwoods. We loved it all and will definitely book again soon!!

Perfect Glamping Experience

We loved our glamping experience! My daughters enjoyed the trampoline and outdoor experience. My husband and I especially enjoyed the outdoor kitchen set up which made outdoor cooking a breeze. The outdoor bath was especially neat and unique experience. The tiny home was a perfect escape from the wilderness, if needed and the A-frame cabin was perfect for our girls who crave adventure. We absolutely loved the experience and look forward to booking again!

We had a wonderful stay at Redwood Basin. It worked really well for our group of six humans and 1 dog! Beautiful setting, super peaceful and private. They had everything we needed to be comfortable. We loved our nights around the firepit. The sound system is a nice touch. We saw deer and a little fox while we were there! The host was very good at explaining the particulars of the site and how everything worked for us. Our group of six felt very comfortable there, but I think it would feel crowded if you brought more people than that, especially with the one bathroom.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Redwood Basin, we were blown away by the charm and beauty of the surroundings. The outdoor kitchen was a real highlight for us. It added such a unique and fun element to our stay, allowing us to cook and dine under the open sky, surrounded by nature. The accommodations were comfortable and perfect for us. We loved the cozy fireplace, which kept us warm and created a wonderful ambiance in the evenings. Our family of four had plenty of space to relax and unwind, both indoors and outdoors. There was never a dull moment, we especially enjoyed gathering around the fire pit for s'mores and singing under the starry night sky. Both Sabrina and Latif, had given us a heads-up and checked in on us ensuring that we had everything we needed. Overall, our experience was nothing short of magical. Away from the bustling crowd, this haven gave us a much needed grounding experience. It was the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and we can't wait to come back again soon. This place was an absolute dream and perfect for an all amenities, perfect accommodation, cozy living, and worked so great with our four-year-old. Can’t wait to come back and wouldn’t change a thing. The host was magnanimous and super prepared and delightful. We feel so lucky that we got to stay there. All of our friends are super jealous from the pictures, also, as a bonus, quite close to town, but also far enough away and so quiet that you really feel like you’re gone gone gone. Thanks again to our hosts!

Luxurious, comfortable, charming

I can't say enough good things about this forest retreat. My friend and I are in love with the charming a-frame with beautiful soaring redwood views. The outdoor kitchen was really well equipped and we loved cooking outside and eating around the warm fire. We truly felt so much more relaxed after spending time here. I'm sure the outdoor tub with hot water had something to do with that! It's also just very peaceful- the only sounds are the birds. I can't wait to come back and enjoy this space again with more friends! It has everything you need and is only a few minutes outside of town. I highly recommend this as a getaway to recharge in nature or a cushy glampsite for families/groups of friends. Currently on the property is an aframe, a shipping container tiny home, as well as a trailer, so there are a few different sleeping options. The shipping container has a nice flush toilet bathroom and shower. The Host, Latif, and his sisters are extremely kind and available if you have any questions.

We enjoyed spending time here! The container home was very comfortable - great shower (lots of hot water) and everything was new and clean. It was rainy, so we enjoyed the apple TV when we couldn't be outside. The outdoor kitchen is incredible and well appointed, so no need to bring your own pots/pans/utensils. There are two refrigerators - one in the container home and one in the outdoor kitchen, so we had plenty of capacity. The fire pit was great and a lovely area to hang out.
