I can't recommend this treehouse enough! To start off, Miss J was so sweet and gave us a tour of the whole place before we settled in! You could tell she cared deeply about the land and making all of her guests feel welcome! The treehouse itself was something out of a fairytale - the adventure of staying up in the trees, the serenity of the woods, the spectacular views from the jacuzzi.. everything about this place was truly magical. I can't wait to come back and stay for longer next time!

We loved staying at the tree house! The hosts were very thoughtful, and there were many amenities to make our stay comfortable. It was a lovely nature getaway for a weekend in the midst of beautiful redwoods!

Work, school, life. We all live with our worries, pressures, and responsibilities that often become too much to handle at times. Moon bear lodge really is the perfect place to recharge and connect with nature on a deeper level. The hosts are absolutely amazing, genuine people, and it has been an honor to be at presence of such a special property. If your brain is clogged, you’re having an existential crisis, tired of people, or simply want a very cozy place to read some books, definitely pull the trigger and check this place out.

The treehouse is amazing! Such a cool experience, and the entire property has lots to offer - hot tub, playground, outdoor shower, fire pits, etc. Hosts were very helpful and responsive. I believe they were on property, but we were the only guests this weekend and it felt like we were alone which was nice! The “downtown” has some super cute shops/restaurants and there are hikes and activities to do nearby. Would stay here again!

Jessica is a great host, the place was cozy, the location was 30 min away from beach, and 10 min away from a small town. The ladder up was very scary at first but then became easier. We wish there’s a tv in the treehouse.

My boyfriend and I had our anniversary getaway here. We were warmly greeted and given a tour of the property, with a few accommodation options shown to us. We were taken up to the treehouse, where we were informed about everything and assured that we could text them if we needed anything. The treehouse was really nice and cozy, and the property itself was beautiful and amazing. The communication with the host was perfect, with updates on who would be greeting us and showing us around. I would love to stay here again. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

Staying in the treehouse was amazing! Such a fun experience to climb up 30 feet into the trees and stay in a cozy cabin on a beautiful property. The host was extremely helpful and made sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends!

The Moon Bear property was beautiful and super close to the adorable town of Occidental! We loved our stay in the tree house, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique stay!! Beautiful Mountain View’s from the property as well :)

We loved the tree house! It was amazing and so beautiful. Miss J was a great host and gave an amazing tour around the property. The area is amazing and Occidental is so cute and adorable. The tree house is such a unique place to stay and we loved every second of it, even climbing up the ladder! I couldn’t recommend it more :)

It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful stay! Just being in the treehouse was incredible, with all the windows and skylights you feel like a bird in it's nest. The deck with the shower and hot tub has an awesome view. The hiking was great just walking straight behind the treehouse and following the fire trails. We has awesome food in Occidental (Howard's Station and Hazel in particular) and enjoyed some nice time swimming in the Russian river. Also I forgot a bottle of medication and the host sent it back to my house, so nice of them!! 10/10 would recommend!

The website doesn't give this place justice. Amazing place to stay and the host are incredibly welcoming. We stayed in the Gazebo which come with use of trailer for kitchen and bathroom. Open use of deck with beautiful views from hot tub. This home is also fun with playground for kids and disk golf for bigger kids. Will return in the future for more tranquility!

Our stay at this treehouse was an absolute dream, exceeding all expectations! I chose it for my husband's birthday, and it delivered an unforgettable experience. Perched high in the trees, the treehouse felt incredibly sturdy and offered a perfect escape from the everyday.
The attention to detail on the property was remarkable: our treehouse had a heater and a mini-fridge, and there was a convenient communal kitchen and shower area. The jacuzzi, situated on their expansive patio, provided a truly breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. We also enjoyed snuggling up by the charming fire pit area, nestled under the magnificent trees.
The hosts were truly wonderful. They greeted us with a comprehensive tour, and their presence throughout our stay was so discreet that we didn't even realize they were still around until they checked in with us before we departed,
The nearby town of Occidental is charming and offers everything you could need, from excellent restaurants with friendly owners to the fantastic Freestone day spa and the opportunity to get out on the water at the Russian River in Gurneville.
Overall, this was an incredibly unique and fantastic stay, made even better by the exceptional hosts. If you're someone who's afraid of heights (like me!), the treehouse might feel a little daunting initially, but rest assured, it's very safe, and they even provide a belay system if you're feeling nervous.

Jessica made sure that we were well taken care of and comfortable during our stay. She was very responsive via text to any questions we had during out trip. The mountain bikes you can rent from her are legit, as is the willow creek trail nearby. The treehouse was truly a unique experience and the lodge and surrounding area was gorgeous. The highlight was the hot tub overlooking the forest and valley north of the lodge, as well as the amazing outdoor shower. FYI, the treehouse has a powered lift for heavier supplies and a bucket on a rope/pulley for smaller items. You’ll need to use the ladder to get up and down the treehouse, so if heights are an issue this is not for you. The treehouse cabin itself feels relatively new in the inside, with a small fridge, cups, wine glasses, and potable water. Super comfortable mattress. Bring warm clothing but don’t be fooled; the upper loft gets nice and warm and the bedding is ample. Don’t mind the creaking/swaying that happens with the gusts for a few hours in the early evening; the treehouse is on rolling joists so this is normal and the movement predictably stops at night for bedtime.

I came with about 10 people and 4 kids for my birthday weekend and had such an amazing stay due to Jessica’s hospitality and the stunning property!! The property is stunning, the accommodation is well thought out, treee house is AMAZING, and Jessica is such a thoughtful host - she shared a bubble machine for the kids, there’s an entire playground for them as well, and an extra air mattress to make a family even more comfy. Stay here - you’ll have such a stellar time!

We loved the tree house! We had such a magical time together here— from star gazing in the hot tub, to creature sightings (we saw a little fox and a skunk), drinking hot coco in the robes they provided, and soaking up the beauty of the redwoods and wild flowers! Jessica and her family were the most incredible hosts! They even sent us home with a bag of freshly picked Santa Rosa lemons. We had the most magical time and will certainly be back to this incredible oasis!

It's hard to know where to start, but it's easy to say that your time here will make it feel hard to leave. The land and the space the owners have created is the ultimate retreat. From the serenity circle with it's warm firepit, to the hammocks and swings where you can lay with a good book, or the coziest treehouse, where after you adventure up the ladder you get to wrap yourself in blankets and nap on a human-sized beanbag. They have a hot tub where you can watch the sun set behind the mountains, kayaks to adventure on the russian river, private yoga lessons, massage treatments if you need some relaxation, mountain bikes for the many local trails...the list goes on. The town is also absolutely adorable and just down the road. I would come back and definitely stay awhile.

The treehouse was incredible! So many meticulous details. The hosts were incredibly kind and were so generous with their time and property. We got to borrow their mountain bikes and do a little ride nearby. The location is perfect — close to many hikes and cycling trails — and you can still drive to the town nearby if needed. Everything about the place was magical and the hosts really went way above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We can’t wait to come back!

This was the dreamiest space in the woods with all the luxurious touches that made it feel like home! The tree cabin was so warm and cozy, convenient with the bathroom, keurig, and other amenities upstairs while downstairs the full trailer with kitchen and a gorgeous hot tub made everything easy. Miss J was warm and welcoming, we loved meeting her!

I took my wife to stay in the treehouse for our anniversary and we absolutely loved it. The host is very nice, welcoming and made our stay enjoyable. It does get cold, but there are heaters in the treehouse that keep you warm, a warm jacuzzi and warm blankets. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

My partner and I had such a wonderful experience in the tree cabin. Miss J was incredibly welcoming, approachable, and made sure we had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay and then some. The tree cabin is very magical. You get all the comfort and coziness on the inside and all of the fun and adventure right outside. We had a great time exploring the property, soaking in the hot tubs, and making smores in the fire pit (which Miss J and company graciously helped to set up for us when we wanted to use it). This is a fantastic place to stay and we look forward to coming back and enjoying again sometime soon! Thank you Miss J!
