Welcome! We’re Jillian and Joe, along with our sidekicks Sonora + Ayla, the brains and the brawn behind Mill Creek Resort. Since 2017, we have been pouring every ounce of our love and energy into this landmark 1930’s resort. We take great pride in honoring it's rich history while creating a space for the next generation of mountain adventurers. Nestled in 12 acres of cedars and towering pines on the south side of Lassen Volcanic National Park, we offer 9 cabins open year-round, along with 20 campsites, some featuring glamping tents and 8 RV spots, two featuring a vintage 70's trailer and 2015 modern RV. We hope your path leads you here to experience all that Lassen has to offer. Miles of trails, pristine waters, dark skies, and wildlife abound, all awaiting to be discovered. The creek is great for fishing and being so close to the National Park and surrounded by National Forest, the hiking opportunities are endless!  We have 20 sites available in our campground.  Each sites offers a picnic table and fire ring. FYI Sites 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 20 do not have grills on their fire rings. None of our sites have bear storage boxes. We ask that you keep your food in your car while away from your site. Our campground is dog friendly, but we ask that you keep them leashed & picked up after or we will ask you to leave.  Behind campsite number 13 there's a steep trail down to Mill Creek.  Easy access points to Mill Creek off Highway 172 only a mile from the campground.  We have two private bathroom facilities offering coin operated showers and flush toilets located behind campsite 5.  The shower house offers a coin operated washer and dryer. We recommend bringing your own laundry detergent and quarters. Additionally, there are vault toilets located in the lower campground.  The bathroom facilities are only a short walk from any camp site.  Our camp store and restaurant are no longer in operation. We paid homage to the logging pioneers of the Lassen area by decorating the cabin with local vintage photographs and antique logging relics. The 2 bedrooms each have a queen-sized log bed and the living room couch folds out making room for 2 more sleeping spaces. Take in ultimate family time in the generously-sized living room that’s open to the kitchen and dining room with seating for six. Watch the world go by on the half-wrap-around porch nestled into the forest.

I absolutely loved camping at Mill Creek! The scenery was beautiful, and the sound of the creek flowing nearby made the whole trip feel extra peaceful. It felt so nice to escape for the weekend, relax, and just soak up nature. I also really appreciated that they offered firewood right there at the site. It made campfire time super convenient and stress-free! Having cell signal was a nice bonus too, since it allowed me to stay connected with loved ones while still enjoying an unplugged vibe. Everyone around was friendly and courteous. We did have a neighboring camper who got noisy at first, though they became more respectful once reminded about the quiet hours. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely come back again!

Beautiful family friendly private campground. A lot of love goes into this place. We were in campsite 11 and felt it was pretty private and spacious. Bring leveling blocks though if you’re picky about a level camper. Would definitely recommend Mill Creek Resort

Site 8 - Campsite right outside Lassen NP
The camp sites were small, not level, and close together. If you were camping in a tent it would be hard to find a flat smooth spot to set it up. We have a truck bed camper and had a hard time getting that level. The bathrooms were not clean. There are separate private bathrooms for “glampers” which is only a small portion of the campground. Everyone else has to use the public restrooms. The pictures make it look better than it was. It is not very well maintained. We did not even end up staying at our site, we drove to a nearby town and got a hotel.

The campsite is on a beautiful property with close proximity (about 1 hrish) from Lassen NP and 30 mins from town. There’s a beautiful creek that runs right through the land. Dog friendly and lots of dog friendly hikes near by. Loved our stay and would definitely come back!

Mill Creek Resort is magical! This is the perfect location for exploring Lassen National Park or just being. The grounds are lovely and Mill Creek runs along the edge of the property. I stayed in an rv spot and those sites are close together, but I didn’t mind and I appreciated the convenience of having water, power and sewer hook ups. There was a small creek running behind the rvs, which is nice sound to fall asleep to. Nice people there and a really great vibe. I will definitely be back!

King Glamping Tent Site 20
Loved our glamping yurt! Will be back for sure and hopefully with friends. Site 20 is by the trail to go to the creek but site 19 is a ways away because the vault toilet is in between. We heard the creek all night which is exactly what we wanted! It’s about 20 minutes to the southwest gate of Lassen NP.

This camping spot is one of the best i’ve been too. The bathrooms are clean, other campers were super respectful, they sell wood and ice, and our camping spot was war distant to the creek below. I would absolutely come here again, very beautiful spot.

My husband and I camped here on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet and such a pretty spot. We got in late (about 9:30 pm) which normally makes me a bit nervous but there was something about the vibe of the campgrounds that made me feel at ease. The sounds of the creek in the distance, the smell of the trees, it just felt so cozy and welcoming! Downsides: people walking by at 1 am flashing their flashlight directly at your tent. A bit spooked by that. Upsides: not feeling like you’re totally alone in the woods because people were around but not too close that it felt crowded.

Awesome campground! Well maintained, beautiful area, and only 30 minutes from Lassen. Campsite #9 was just okay, it was quite sunny compared to the other sites and didn’t have much of a flat area to put a tent on. Would 100% comeback to Mill Creek campground but would try a different campsite.

This was an excellent camp ground. Being deep in a forest away from everything was so relaxing. The creek flowing behind us as we slept was so comforting. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.

Lovely and friendly environment, the forest was clear of litter and the bathrooms were kept tidy. Staff was helpful and kind, and there were several different options available, standard BYO tent, pre made yurt style tents, several different style cabins, and areas to park an RV. Fall asleep with a view of the stars, the sound of the river, and clean fresh forest air.

Such a nice campground, would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. Site 10 was pretty quiet and private, and not too far from the bathroom and showers. Biggest downside is that the open area is sloped, but if you can fit your tent behind the picnic table, you’ll find the ground is a bit flatter. The shared bathroom was clean, well-lit and had plenty of space to hang or put stuff down. It’s pretty thoughtfully designed. There’s also a shared utility sink to wash your dishes in.
