Awesome space for getting out of the city. Vicki puts in much effort to accommodate and welcome those who visit the special land. She has many intersting stories and experiences to share, and her staff are also friendly and helpful to orienting those arriving to the ranch.
Worth noting- there are limited resources, so pack in cooler, food, cooking supplies such as stove/ mess kit, and know there are limitations to cleaning up after meals. ( recommend bio-degradble soap/ sponge- water spickets are available through the campsites.)
As a person who enjoys simplicity- fire, tent, food, I find this campground ideal for car/ tent campsites.
Each time I visit it is ever-evolving and noticed there are impressive new mini- home on wheels for those craving a more glamping friendly experience, which would be great for older folks/ small families.
Overall it is very nice place to slow down and recenter when life feels overwhelming-at a very budget friendly cost. Also learning more of the lands history, and the efforts to sustain this area make me feel happy to support Vicki's efforts as steward of this nature!

Vicki was very nice to us, and the property and view is beautiful. We had a great tent site, and the public restrooms and showers were clean. We drove up with a truck so had no problems, but highly suggest a truck or SUV for the road up there!

Awesome experience! Vicki is a very kind host and very approachable. Leigitimately wants her guests to have a good time. Serenity ranch is high rewards to cost ratio for the San Diego native albeit a bit of an offroad experience getting there. I personally loved it but if you got a compact car, getting into the ranch may take you a bit longer. This place is also super dog friendly which we appreciate bringing our hunting dog there. Highly reccomend!

Vicky was the kindest host. An amazing piece of land, beautiful views and having super clean restrooms were a bonus! Plus you’ll meet the worlds cutest camp dog, Solo.

What a beautiful location, we had a large group and everyone was able to camp around the cabin. The glamping tent has a WONDERFUL view. Vicky and Rich are both excellent hosts. We will absolutely be back soon!

We made it up the mountain with no problems in a Toyota Camry, don't think you need some giant 4x4 to camp here

Great place. Not sure how it compares to other campgrounds in the area, but my son (4.5 y.o.) had a great time. Views are amazing. Hosts, Vicky and Rich are great and so accomodating. There are indoor showers and toilets.

First off, the site is lovely with some of the campsites having spectacular views. Bathrooms are clean with lights. The history of the area is definitely worth researching or ask Vicki the camp host about the history and best place to walk and see the history. 5 out of 5, camp there.

Loved the views and the hosts were really nice. That said, the campsites could use more upkeep. There was overgrown grass right next to the fire pit, which felt a bit unsafe, and some of the amenities were worn down, especially the shower area. Overall, still a nice spot to camp

My daughter and I planned a birthday camping getaway for my other daughter -Vicki the owner was so accommodating, and great communication . Rich was there to greet them and was super helpful and his dog was adorable.! My daughter loved the glamping tent!! the view and the sunset were amazing. Absolutely beautiful setting !! we couldn't have asked for more . They had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place 5+ stars.!!! Very secluded and relaxing !

One of the most peaceful spots I’ve camped at. I did go on a Tuesday in March, so I had most of the place to myself. Of course the views were spectacular! The camp sites were clean and a shovel was provided for the campfire along with chairs, table and a grill by the bathrooms. The bathroom was a nice size and also clean. The only cons for me was the sites were a bit too close but I think this was more of a community type campsite with an amphitheater & a Yoga deck. It would also be better to have an AWD vehicle coming up. It would have been tough if I had anything less.

I will absolutely be back! Vicki was so kind and friendly and her dogs were the cutest. She gave us a great site with lots of shade, fire pit, small table, and chairs. It was comfy and had a beautiful view and even flushable toilets and clean showers. Bring mosquito spray and something to keep the flies away!
It was a lovely, quiet, and beautiful place to visit!

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Peaceful but I personally won’t be returning for a few reasons. The price is high for what you get. The road to the property is very sketchy. Narrow, steep, dirt road with numerous deep washouts to navigate.
Campground has silt-like sand and it is very dusty.
Campsite didn’t feel private.
We were hoping for a view but we got stuck at a campground without a view because the roads were too bad to drive to other sites.
We have a class B RV that is FWD with low clearance. If you have clearance and AWD / 4x4 it will be much easier to get there and get to any of the sites.
Off leash dogs, chickens, and pigs on the property. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for someone with a reactive dog.

I loved camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch.
I went on a Saturday night and every camping spot was full, there was around 36. The campers were very friendley. The bathrooms were clean. The sunset was beautiful and waking up and watching the sunrise was superb. Each campsite was outfitted with a shovel and either a bench table or a couple of chairs.
My dog, Percy and I, explored a few trails around the mountain. Dogs don't need to be on leash unless if they decide to go and explore on their own. There was many people but for the most part everyone stuck to themselves asides from polite conversation.

Harrison Serenity Ranch is a special place that all San Diegans should experience. It’s so close, but still so far removed from city life- a real treat. Vicki and her team do an incredible job of making the site accessible for everyone, from traditonal tent sites to glamorous tents, to tiny home, there’s something for everyone. The running water is a nice touch and something that makes the whole experience that much nicer. There’s even some unique history to learn about, from when Native Americans roamed the land. It’s cool, it’s quant, and so easy to get to. Definitely check it out
