Welcome to the epitome of remote, Hyampom! 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for wet season and absolutely critical during snow here. La Posada de Los Hongos is based at 3500ft elevation with spectacular view of the Trinity Alps. Amongst old growth Douglas fir, Ponderosa Pine, incense Cedar, Tan Oak, Big leaf Maple, Madrone and Chinquapin to name a few. Natural spring water and solar electricity available. 22 private acres, adjacent to the Trinity national forest. Lot’s to explore, mountain bike and hiking trails! Shuttle service available. Stand where ancient oceans collided with continents. Our landscape rises from 200-million-year-old ocean floor, thrust upward by the same tectonic forces still shaping California today. The dramatic rock formations are rare blueschist forged in the depths of a vanished sea, they tell stories older than the dinosaurs. Walk among geological masterpieces millions of years in the making. Bouldering and rock climbing activities are on site. We have a very diverse habitat with many different edible berries including Salal, thimbleberry, black cap raspberry, red huckleberry a few of my favorites. We also forage our own Chanterelle, Matsutake, Saffron milk caps, Oyster and Hedgehog mushrooms. I’m the administrator of our local Trinity county Fungi Club and also host guided foraging tours! Mushroom cultivation courses are also available upon request. Down the hill Hyampom Valley has some of the best swimming holes in Trinity county. The water is crystal clear. Rafter’s kayaker’s and fisher’s paradise. Home to absolutely prolific Salmon and Steelhead. In town we have the Hyampom General store with all your basic necessities and fuel. Bar and restaurant next door has delicious food, staff is awesome. Very tightly knit community we have. We have camp sites with bathroom and shower available. Glamping experience is also available with the whole cabin and your own personal swimming hole staring at you from the window. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding travel conditions. Due to the nature of our Local geography rockslides or snow can occur on the route in. This is real wilderness planning and preparation is key.“Off grid” Glamping at it’s finest. Cabin and wood stove with solar electricity, and fresh spring water. Starlink satellite for WiFi and cellular data to show off your view of the Trinity Alps! Kitchen with stove oven, microwave and full size refrigerator. Restroom inside with hot shower. Two queen beds and additional air mattresses available.
