Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.

Julian Base Camp is a holistic based camp that will be opening in early May 2026. The camp is designed as a rest stop for bikers, hikers, nature lovers, artists and readers who seek the quiet of nature. The camp is adjacent to Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and the Kelly Ditch Trail. The camp may also be directly accessed via the Trans County Trail (TCT). Because the camp is intended as a quiet retreat, at present only adults 21 and over are permitted. Children and Pets are not currently allowed. Over-night and Day visits are available on a limited basis and reservations are required. NO WALK-INS. Lodging options include: The Bunkhouse (2 queen beds, sleeps 4) The Green (Day) Bus, (one queen bed, sleeps 2). A-Frame Canvas Camp Tent (one queen futon, sleeps 2) Starting May, 2026 we will open be Thursday to Sunday Nights. A junior queen bed and bench seating (no seat belts) provide for a comfortable stay out of the weather.
