Welcome to Hawk’s Nest Tionesta RV and Cabin Park, your basecamp for adventure in Northern California. Nestled on 8 acres of scenic high desert and Ponderosa pines, Hawk’s Nest offers a peaceful, outdoorsy setting that blends the rugged beauty of the PNW with the wide-open landscapes of the PNW. Located directly along the Volcanic Scenic Byway, you’re perfectly positioned to explore some of the region’s most unique natural attractions. Just minutes away, you’ll find Lava Beds National Monument, Medicine Lake, and miles of forest land for hiking, exploring, and wildlife viewing. Situated in the heart of Zone X, known as some of California’s best hunting grounds. Hawk’s Nest is a prime destination for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and travelers alike. The park features 22 RV sites, including full hookup options, 12 tent sites, and 10 cabins, offering a variety of ways to stay. Guests have access to a camp store, separate male and female restrooms with toilets and showers, a coin-operated laundry facility, and a playground for families. Picnic tables are available throughout the park, and portable water is accessible for dry campers. Backed by forest land and surrounded by nature, Hawk’s Nest is designed to be a comfortable and convenient place to recharge after a day of adventure, whether you’re here for recreation, hunting, or simply to unwind under the stars. No matter your journey, Hawk’s Nest is the perfect place to call base camp! CANCELATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than 31 days prior to arrival receive a full refund, less a $10 booking fee Cancellations made between 30 and 14 days prior to arrival receive a 50% refund Cancellations made 13 days or less prior to arrival are non-refundable *Hunting season September 1st through October 31st will get no refund if reservation is booked for during those months.

This is a good campsite. The pitches are large in the trees and very peaceful. There was a nice relaxing area with loungers and a fire pit. The bathrooms were very clean. Pam was welcoming and went out of her way, opening the shop so I could buy some food and explaining about the local area too.

Overall, it was a peaceful setting and we had a nice day but when we arrived, the power was out so there was no access to water or electricity for about three hours. It did eventually come back on. It looks like they're going through an ownership change and it was running a little bit. Shakeley really hard to check in with the camp host at first and other sites are really close together and a little awkward there was also a little bit of construction going on around the laundry and bathrooms, but they were still usable.

Cabin #7 The Vinegar Inn

Pamela was very friendly and check in was easy. It was a great launching point into Lava Beds and to Medicine Lake. There were all the appliances you need to feel comfortable and at home. The skys were beautiful in the evenings and into the night and we found a tree frog and racer snake in the grass area which was fun and reassuring to see these creatures healthy in their habitat.

The site floor is pretty even, but only bother us is the tree with lower brunch touched the roof of trailer, that need to be removed. The camp has big space to walk around if you have dog, that’s a good camp for you

We didn’t get to stay as long as we would have liked because we were traveling to see family, but our cabin was clean and spacious. The campground was quiet and well maintained. Pam was kind enough to accommodate our late arrival and was very responsive by messaging. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a fledgling camp area and it has potential. The owners were very nice and helpful. It wasn’t the uncleanliness of the bath (there is one there) and unkempt grounds that ran us off early. It was the mosquitos! They were so bad even a good smokey fire did not keep them at bay, a few were injected every time you opened your mouth. Not sure what could be done with that!! We want to thank them for having us and wish them success!!!!

My son and I had a wonderful time and a good nights rest on during our stay. Having shower during a road trip is a plus. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful. We felt safe and saw the stars. The campground was quiet and clean.
