Welcome to Hawk’s Nest Tionesta RV and Cabin Park, your basecamp for adventure in Northern California. Nestled on 8 acres of scenic high desert and Ponderosa pines, Hawk’s Nest offers a peaceful, outdoorsy setting that blends the rugged beauty of the PNW with the wide-open landscapes of the PNW. Located directly along the Volcanic Scenic Byway, you’re perfectly positioned to explore some of the region’s most unique natural attractions. Just minutes away, you’ll find Lava Beds National Monument, Medicine Lake, and miles of forest land for hiking, exploring, and wildlife viewing. Situated in the heart of Zone X, known as some of California’s best hunting grounds. Hawk’s Nest is a prime destination for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and travelers alike. The park features 22 RV sites, including full hookup options, 12 tent sites, and 10 cabins, offering a variety of ways to stay. Guests have access to a camp store, separate male and female restrooms with toilets and showers, a coin-operated laundry facility, and a playground for families. Picnic tables are available throughout the park, and portable water is accessible for dry campers. Backed by forest land and surrounded by nature, Hawk’s Nest is designed to be a comfortable and convenient place to recharge after a day of adventure, whether you’re here for recreation, hunting, or simply to unwind under the stars. Inside, you’ll find a small dining setup and a fully equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and stove/oven. Pots, pans, cooking utensils, and dinnerware are all provided, making it easy to prepare simple meals during your stay. Thoughtfully appointed for year-round comfort, each cabin features window A/C units during the summer months and space heaters available throughout all seasons to create a cozy, inviting retreat. Unwind after a day of exploring with a Smart TV, and enjoy moderate WiFi available to guests. Additional guests beyond the standard occupancy of 2 people are welcome with prior approval; however, they must bring their own bedding and sleeping arrangements. Please note, Cabin 6 does not have a private bathroom. Overall, it’s a nice camp for long drive to take a break. Jim is nice to welcome us and navigate us to the site. The site floor is pretty even, but only bother us is the tree with lower brunch touched the roof of trailer, that need to be removed. The camp has big space to walk around if you have dog, that’s a good camp for you

We really liked staying here, the host was amazing and opened the little store for us so we could get ice, they have very clean bathrooms with showers which we definitely needed after hiking around in the caves all day. We will definitely be coming back 🙂

We didn’t get to stay as long as we would have liked because we were traveling to see family, but our cabin was clean and spacious. The campground was quiet and well maintained. Pam was kind enough to accommodate our late arrival and was very responsive by messaging. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a fledgling camp area and it has potential. The owners were very nice and helpful. It wasn’t the uncleanliness of the bath (there is one there) and unkempt grounds that ran us off early. It was the mosquitos! They were so bad even a good smokey fire did not keep them at bay, a few were injected every time you opened your mouth. Not sure what could be done with that!! We want to thank them for having us and wish them success!!!!

My son and I had a wonderful time and a good nights rest on during our stay. Having shower during a road trip is a plus. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful. We felt safe and saw the stars. The campground was quiet and clean.

On arrival there was no one in the office. We went to our site and set up then went back to the office twice to check in as we were prompted by a message through Hipcamp. We even called the number and no one answered. Finally someone came out and chastised us for just driving through and not checking in. So service could improve. The campground was basic and nothing to write home about. The only redeeming value is the proximity to Lava Beds. I guess that’s why it was available at the last minute. We will not return.

Loved the nearby Lavabeds! Camp ground was very nice, large tent sites, flat with picnic tables and chairs. Mostly shaded by pine trees and had deer running by our site in the AM! Bathrooms and showers were nearby and clean. Would recommend!

The facility was great. It was nice that they had full hook up. But the sewer was higher than our piping. So there was an issue trying to empty our used water. Otherwise everything was great. And it was the rest we needed.

We had so much fun in our little cozy cabin, and used it as a base to explore the Caves and the beautiful area surrounding Hawks Nest. We had originally planned to camp, but there was snow (surprise!) and Pam was gracious enough to let us cancel the campsite and upgrade to the cabin. No stores for miles around, so we were glad we brought everything we needed. The bathrooms were super clean, heated 24/7 and had great showers. My only suggestion would be to add a few more hooks or shelves to accommodate jackets, towels, keys etc. 5 Stars!!!
