We are located near the junction of Highway 1 and 101 in Mendocino County. Our guests enjoy a peaceful stay in a redwood forest and along the Eel River, with the convenience of being just seconds off Highway 101. We are 1 mile from the famous Drive-Through Tree, 5 minutes to the Peg House (Never Don’t Stop!) and 1 hour to the Mendocino Coast. The property contains a developed campground with a modern bathhouse, Eel River beaches and swimming holes, hiking trails, and wildlife viewing. The property is mostly used for small private meditation retreats and is only open for general camping on a small scale. We offer self-contained RV and trailer camping, tiny homes, and cottages for your stay.

Self-Contained RVs and Trailers We can accommodate self-contained RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. Guests have a choice of various, naturally-flat areas for parking RVs in our 10 acre campground. The campground is serviced by a new shower-house facility equipped with a washer and dryer, which RV campers a welcome to use. There are drinking water stations with filtered water. Enjoy our open meadow and trails throughout the campground. We do not allow generators. The Eel River flows through the property and is about a .8 mile walk or drive from the campground. No fires.

Staying in this River-Front cottage feels like being on retreat. The Cottage is a 600 square foot studio nestled on the forested banks of the Eel River. It can sleep up to 4 people; there is a queen bed and a twin rollaway bed, an extra cot or folding mattress can be made available for a 4th person. There is a full bath and full-sized kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, sink, and dining area. Enjoy a quiet moment on the back deck overlooking the river, and easy river access.

One tent may be pitched next to each tiny home to sleep additional guests (up to 4 guests at each site). This is one of our fully solar-powered OFF-GRID 8'x16' tiny house located high above the Eel River. It sleeps one person on a twin mattress. One tent may be pitched next to the tiny home to sleep additional guests (up to 4 guests at each site). The tiny house has basic solar for charging devices and powering lights, private foot-pedal-flush toilet, HOT SHOWER and a kitchenette with: mini fridge, one burner cook top, and sink. This Tiny house has only a stove for emitting heat. No heater or A/C. Tiny home guests also have access to our shared Showerhouse.

Peaceful minimalist forest escape
Tiny home in the Forest
Upon arrival, Joseph very kindly escorted me to the tiny home, as the roads on property are confusing, especially at night. The unit is minimalist in a peaceful way, with thoughtful amenities and plentiful kitchen supplies. The property is beautiful and very quiet. Woke up to deer grazing right nearby, and was able to walk around and explore the forest and campsites in the morning, including the meditation hall which was open for private use. Didn’t make it down to the river, but there is clear signage pointing the way. Would stay again.

Such a relaxing and beautiful campground set inside the center's grounds. Sitting and watching 7 deer eating nearby as well as a family of turkeys. I recommend this place to anyone. The restrooms are also quite nice and extremely clean.

Super amazing place! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The sound of the river was very relaxing. The whole experience was amazing. If you like being close to a river and trees, this is the place.

This is a truly beautiful place, offering a great location to explore the coast or the redwood forests to the north. The bathroom and shower facilities are really excellent, it is near 101 (with no traffic noise), and the people who care for the land are very helpful.

Serene and well equipped tiny house! We loved the comfortable full size bed and warm shower. There was a nice little table where we had our meals. I would highly recommend!

Nice spot with water, septic, and electric (20amp and 50amp). Generally very happy and would consider coming back when traveling in the area. Minor things that can improve: (1) grass is a bit overgrown, so some mowing would be helpful. (2) the septic hookup isn’t directly on the ground but a bit higher, which makes it a tiny bit tricky to dump (see picture).

The entire area is beautiful! Peaceful, quiet and the hosts are fabulous. The tiny house was clean and had all we needed! A short drive to different river accesses and the redwoods. We will be back!

Zen Camping Experience

I was the only camper on the weekday night I went and that was lovely, so serene. I spent a few hours painting on the beautiful property. It was quiet, the most peaceful nights sleep I’ve had on this trip. Showers and facilities were great. The wild turkeys were intimidated by their reflection in my RVs bumper which was entertaining. Would definitely come back, I felt very safe here.

Thank you very much for this pleasant stay. The host was very friendly and the surroundings very quiet. We were able to relax very well and enjoy the beautiful nature in the camp. The sanitary facilities were very clean. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet place close to nature, you should definitely come here!

Great spot to park my van overnight! Joseph was easy to communicate with and welcoming. The sight was easy to get to and having access to a hot shower was amazing during the cold rain. It was nice to sleep among the trees, would recommend!

We were so grateful for Joseph hosting us! We got a sweet little spot on a really well-maintained and very secure location. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We really appreciated getting to take a hot shower on a chilly morning. We would absolutely return again!

Tiny house in a grove of Madrones
Gomde is a great place for a solo retreat from everyday life! The grounds are peaceful and the cabins are spotless, cozy and have everything you need to relax into your surroundings. I disconnected from work and instead immersed myself in nature, read, wrote, meditated and napped. I will make this place a regular for a digital detox.

One of the nicest hipcamps I've stayed on. The land is beautiful, with grazing deer around. The showers and toilets are modern, clean and super lovely. I enjoyed a lovely warm shower after many hours on the road. I would stay here again and again and again.

This is a lovely site with excellent shower rooms, including lockers and chargers. Obviously late in the season so we had a choice of sites. A warm welcome on arrival by staff and at dusk / sunrise with some deer 🦌😀 All in all very happy to recommend this site
