Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! Explore the mines and hang out on our Groveland, California ranch! We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite. There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful! This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite. A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

Welcome to our beautiful 824-acre cattle ranch with two small ponds! The Canvas Bell Tent brings traditional camping to another level. We are located just outside the small town of Groveland and are just 30 miles from the gate of Yosemite. The Bell tent sits on an elevated platform inside an 4 acre fenced area away from the cattle. Your tent comes with a queen bed and bedding, carpeting, and bedside tables. There's running water at the site, which you can use to fill up your water bottles or use for cooking. We also have two rocking chairs on the tent platform where you can sip on a beverage and take in the beauty around you. When exploring our property you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We're not far from town either -- in just a few minutes you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization and it's really quiet. This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Good Signage, Poor On‑Site Organise

Overall, this campsite was okay, but there are several areas that could be improved. The signage leading up to the site was absolutely fantastic and very reassuring, especially as we arrived after dark. However, once through the green gate into the campsite itself, the signage completely disappears. None of the individual parking or camping spots are clearly marked or signposted, so we ended up parking in the dark and simply hoping we were in an acceptable location. The bathroom facilities were another letdown. While we had no issue with the toilet being a porta‑potty, it was extremely dirty, as were the sink and hand‑washing facilities. For a campsite of this size, having only one bathroom also feels inadequate. Finally, I would echo what other reviews have mentioned: access to the site involves a very steep, grassy uphill walk, which may be difficult for some visitors, particularly when carrying gear or arriving in wet conditions.

Stayed here for my daughter’s birthday trip to Yosemite. We spent the day hiking and came back here to sleep. It was too cold for a tent so camped out in the car. Was a great campsite, very clean and quiet. We especially enjoyed all of the cows.

Really enjoyed staying at Diamond Gulch Glamping experience :) walked into the cleanest tent I had ever seen and woke up to a beautiful view, would highly recommend the Yosemite Glamping site!

we’ve stayed at John’s farm 3 times now, once in spring and twice in late November. every time it has been so amazing! the property is gorgeous and there’s so much open grassy areas to wander and sit on a blanket and just enjoy being in nature and not hearing any sounds but cows mooing! the porta potty is always clean and the camping spaces are large and well equipped with fire pits and wood! i would highly recommend John’s land to anyone. thank you again for sharing your property, John!

Great place. The host was warm and welcoming. Loads of signs to find your way. The cows roam but can be close sometimes which was fun. I stayed at the top of the hill in a sense and woke up to a great sunrise. Clean porta potty and overall clean site. Loads of places to discard trash. Great place and close enough to Yosemite.

Yosemite Glamping Tent!
We were in the Yosemite tent. It was very roomy inside. The bed was comfortable. The only critique about the bedding was the laundry detergent used was really strong. The propane heater and stove worked fine although there was only a 1/2 tank. So I would suggest bringing your own just in case. The property was beautiful. It was very easy to find using the written directions.

What a gorgeous area! We had plans to for one more night in Yosemite but with impending snow we needed a last minute site outside of the park just in case! We had the camp to ourself with a gorgeous view of a storms iver the mountains from our camper. We would definitely come back!

Site 1 - Walt’s Mining Camp 1893
I stayed at Walt’s Mining Camp 1893 and I couldn’t be happier! Whoever set up this campground was really paying attention to details. I had full-bars internet! They generously supplied garbage cans throughout the campground and super-clean porta potties! Nice! Each site has a picnic table and there are “park” benches around as well. There are water faucets in the campground and I saw a sink with soap so I could even do dishes if I had to. The campground is spacious and fenced in with cattle gates that you simply close with a chain. I also spoke to campers in the Glamping tents and they showed me the HUGE tent with a bed and its own private bathroom. There are HOT water showers at this place too! Because of the fence, I would feel comfortable taking my little granddaughters and letting them play since they can’t wander off. In summary, I definitely would recommend this quiet, peaceful campground. Groveland has restaurants and a grocery store so you’re all set. I had a wonderful experience!!!

Great place! Very peaceful and close to town. Lots of spots to choose from, with tables, fire rings and plenty of firewood provided. We loved the hot outdoor showers! Porta potties were clean and recently serviced.

Such a cool spot! Not your typical campground…loved being on a cattle ranch with open spaces, watching the cows and hearing them moo and the donkeys bray. Lots of space to roam with our two big dogs, very quiet and peaceful. We were in our campervan. Plenty of space between sights, fire pits and firewood aplenty. Highly recommend if you like something a little different. Oh and the sunset was spectacular!

John’s land was perfect and just as described. Very easy directions to get there and the camp was clean and tidy. It was very peaceful and we had great cell and Starlink reception. We will definitely stay again if in the area! Awesome having free fire wood. Showers worked super well. Nothing like a nice hot shower in the open air.

Good place to camp away from the crowds in Yosemite!! And only an hour drive in to the NP. Night skies were amazing!! Open space so campers were not on top of each other!! John (and Molly) was a great host. Groveland was a 5 minute drive with any supplies you need and dinner options

Really excellent campsite! Excellent location and totally peaceful and secluded. Perfect distance from Yosemite and much more affordable and reasonable than the park’s campground. Would recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay again. John is very friendly and helpful and gave us some good Yosemite tips.

It was a gorgeous campsite! Loved falling asleep to the moos of the cows. Tons of birds in the morning too. Woke up to a great horned owl calling. Trash receptacles were provided, with tables at every site too. Showers were great!
