Completely private 19 acres to explore while only being 10 min from downtown Los Gatos (FYI has great cell reception). Plenty of flat empty land to pitch tents. There is a compost toilet and an outdoor shower with cold water. There is plenty of room to explore, half of the property is pretty dense wilderness but the main half has hammocks, slack line, fire pit, bbq, tables, etc. *FYI due to the steep driveway (see pic) the property is only accessible by AWD or 4-wheel drive SUV or truck; cars, vans, or RVs will not be able to make it (if you are not sure please ask before booking).There is plenty of open space to pitch a tent anywhere you would like. We have a beautiful tiled floor outhouse that has a compost toilet, running sink water (non-potable) and a separate shower area with cold water only. The place is great for a couple or group as its is completely private, you can park many SUV/trucks and pitch many tents on the property. Things to keep in mind: you need a 4 wheel drive or AWD SUV/truck to drive up the driveway, do not attempt in a car, van or RV (if you are not sure please check with me), only access the driveway after turning around above the property (access only coming down the mountain). There is poison oak so be aware and we recommend long pants for hiking on the property. The water comes from rain barrels that we refill from our well, so it is not limitless (please conserve), the water is non-drinkable (probably fine if you are boiling it). There is also no street parking, the nearest spot is at the bottom of the mountain (2 miles away), so if you have a large party or visitors make sure someone has a 4 wheel drive SUV to drive them onto the property as it is to far to walk. Also there is a cabin on the property, it is not in good working order but feel free to use the deck if you want.

There is plenty of open space to pitch a tent anywhere you would like. We have a beautiful tiled floor outhouse that has a compost toilet, running sink water (non-potable) and a separate shower area with cold water only. The place is great for a couple or group as its is completely private, you can park many SUV/trucks and pitch many tents on the property. Things to keep in mind: you need a 4 wheel drive or AWD SUV/truck to drive up the driveway, do not attempt in a car, van or RV (if you are not sure please check with me), only access the driveway after turning around above the property (access only coming down the mountain). Michael was great at helping me navigate my adventure. The stay was great and relaxing. The nearby reservoir was an easy drive for a morning of fishing and the property was quiet and relaxing. The steep entry was no joke, but was no issue in a 2025 Subaru Outback wilderness. I would not recommend in a RWD/FWD coupe

Great views from the campsite! As described in the site post, the approach up to the site does require a 4x4. The outdoor shower and toilet were much appreciated, along with the zip lines and swings for the kids.

Great stay! The host provided clear and accurate info for accessing the property and using all the amenities. This is an excellent spot for families, swings, zip line, ropes, beautiful views, fire pits, BBQ, lounge chairs, and picnic tables. The place is spacious and peaceful. Just note that a 4x4 vehicle is definitely needed to get there. Would stay again!

I had a good experience. There is plenty of space to pitch a tent. And the night city view is amazing. The host is very responsive and very transparent. Overall it worked out for me fine. But there are a few things that could have been better: - the water in the bathroom ran out on day 2. We barely used it. Didn’t take any showers. - there are a bunch of solar panels etc but there was no instruction about how to use any of it. Maybe the expectation was that we won’t use any of it. - the place doesn’t lead to any trails etc, so you run out of things to do very quickly. - you don’t have the typical amenities you expect in a campground (toilet as an example) and the ones there didn’t quite work (water). The nights were a bit hard. The noises from animals, critters and birds were interminable and the constant rustling in the bushes kinda made for an unnecessary adventure. Also the first morning there I saw two coyotes casually walking past us. This led me to believe wildlife frequents here. I just wanted a bit more visibility and some thoughtful arrangement of things from the host. Maybe fix up the cabin and make it available to guests instead of a tent. But if you are the adventurous kind then this can be an awesome camping destination and a rare find

Private spot close to Los Gatos

Camp Jaron is a very quiet spot close to downtown Los Gatos. Pros: Hot shower, composting toilet, and mostly private (The neighbor's house has a direct line of sight on the main campsite area — further down the hill is more private) Neutral: Rough road to access property, 4x4/clearance required as described. Cons: Limited level ground for parking rig, I had to park directly under large branches which I try to avoid whenever possible, would recommend packing leveling blocks. Limited level & cleared space for tents — Expect overgrowth / leaves / mulch / poison oak.
