Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
This property is located in a very secluded location with miles of endless adventures. It's rustic off road off grid camping. Not for candy backside people. Enjoy your recreational activities. Ride your horse, ATV, etc. Pet friendly. Enjoy the year round creek a few miles away that offers swimming holes and a place to enjoy the sounds of water in motion.

Welcome. Come be mild in the wild. Experience natures energy at Camp Gadson Garden. Primitive camping, located in the Trinity Alps Preserve, Igo/ Ono, CA 96047, Shasta County, CA. Events and gatherings may be accommodated.    Approximately, 40 acres of raw prime off-grid land in a private community preserve. Car travel time is about exactly 28 miles west of the city of Redding, California to the parcel. The site is about 5 miles off the pavement in the Trinity Alps Preserve. There are miles of dirt roads of minimal use daily. Despite the trailers and etc., no structures are included on this site unless authorization. Present are usable grounds. The parcel has front fence, gate, great sun exposure, beautiful trees, shrubbery, and a seasonal pond and creek. Very little traffic for days on the frontal road. The area has mostly good weather even in the fall and winter months. Summer will be warmer. Portable potties are available. Flat spots, open spaces, hills, ridge ( with 360 degrees of panoramic views ), and various privacy areas. There are areas on the ridge to setup camp but you are encouraged, free, and welcome to roam to choose your own comfortable destination to use on the property. On clear days one can view beautiful Mt. Lassen to the east in the distance from the ridge. The skies are never the same one day. The ridge has extremely extraordinary views and moments. There is a pond in season at the front of the parcel that attracts frogs and other wildlife. There is a graded road from the front gate to the top of the ridge and a path from the top down to the bottom of the property where a creek is located during the season. This is a pet friendly site where innocent creatures of curiosity are present and currently reside. The Trinity Alps Preserve community has abundant wildlife and wilderness. About 3 miles away, from the camp, there is a clear creek of flowing water, depending on conditions, where fishing and swimming may take place. Depth can be 2-20 feet depending on the location. ATV, hike, or, ride the roads or property. You can spend hours just doing just that alone. It is private, quiet, friendly, serene, and peaceful community. Welcomed are your propane appliances. You may also want to bring your own car inverter or power source to use WIFI or electricity if need be. It's a great place to enjoy, get away, and to be creative in creation. Camp Gadson Garden
We never made it all the way to the site because the directions never stated that it was 5+ miles of poorly maintained, rutted dirt road that twisted, turned, up and down in a previously-burned area that was denuded of trees and exposed to full sun. I was in an RV and explained that to a host before leaving and he said it would be OK, but I can definitely say it was not OK for me.

GPS coordinates took me to a private residence, that had no clue about any camping areas on fiddler Rd. Drove all the way to the end of the road and spoke with 2 other residents about a possible campground and nobody had ever seen campers before.

Awesome, isolated campsite
Camp Gadson Garden
Jarvis' spot was great and very isolated. The check-in procedure was not as Jarvis explained and I would highly encourage anyone who books to make sure that its all sorted with him. To his credit, he was extremely responsive and sorted things out as quickly as he could. Once that was sorted, we had everything we needed with a beautiful view and there's a great little creek with swimming holes nearby that we loved. The best ones were a short hike over some rocks to get to. The starry nights were incredible and on clear days, easy views of Mt. Lassen! A few other things to note: - Little to no cell service. We had to hike up a ridge to get it - Campfires didn't seem like a great idea from how dry everything was and I'm not sure there were any fire rings ready for our use. It was plenty warm though so not a problem at all

I would not recommend staying here. We couldn't even find it. The directions were very vague and there was absolutely zero signage to let you know where the gate to get in is. There weren't even road signs to try to follow. I wasted my money on booking this site and looked like a fool to the people i went with. I drove two hours to get there, drove around for another two hours trying to find it and then drove home again. Don't waste your time.
