Baby Banana Slug Farm

My husband, our dog and I enjoyed staying here in one of the cabins. The host was helpful and friendly. The cabin was clean and comfortable as well. It is situated on a lovely wooded property. We would definitely visit again!

This was my second visit, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. My friends and I stayed in the Sunshine and Mushroom cabins and loved how comfortable and well-set-up everything was. Nathan’s daughter helped us get the wood stove going, which made breakfast in the kitchen extra cozy. We’re already talking about coming back next year. Thank you to Nathan and his family for another great stay.

Sunshine Cabin

This was my second stay at Baby Banana Slug Farm, and it was just as great as the first. My friends and I stayed in the Sunshine and Mushroom cabins and appreciated how cozy and convenient everything was. Nathan’s daughter kindly helped us get the wood stove going, and we used it to warm the kitchen and make a great breakfast. Next time, we’ll definitely check out his shop. We’re hoping to make this an annual trip. Thank you to Nathan + family for the warm hospitality and another wonderful stay.

My partner and I had an amazing time at Nathan’s camp ground. He was super welcoming and provided more than we could ask for. The tent ground came provided with a functional sink, a wooden table, and fire wood on site. Super nice area, with beautiful views all around it. We are looking forward to coming back here again one day with more of our friends. Best camping ever.

Beautiful redwoods

It was a beautiful setup. Got in a little late and the host came in hot saying we had driven in too fast, it was an unpleasant exchange. The wood we bought was wet and took a ton of effort to light (have a lot of experience and were up for the challenge, but would have been very hard for some groups).

Cute secluded camp near Mendocino.

This is a great camp nestled in the woods in Albion. There are a lot of redwood trees and plenty of privacy. I stayed at site 2 which has a sink with potable water, and a firepit. The camp is close to Mendocino which is about 7 miles North. Nathan stopped by to introduce himself and some of the key features of the property.

Great location and a carefully thought out site. We loved our stay at the baby banana slug camp! This site was surrounded by trees so it was very nice not to be woken up by the sun for once. 😂

A perfect campsite.

An amazing first experience with HipCamp! My wife and I are getting into camping, this was exactly what we are looking for... Quiet, secluded and surrounded by redwood trees. We've always loved Mendocino, and the campsite is located just 10 minutes from the coast. Our favorite thing as waking up in the morning to towering redwood trees and seeing the fog float above the forest. We loved it!

Magical place!

We loved our stay at Baby Banana Slug, we stayed in the sunset cabin and it was perfect. On our first day we saw a banana slug, the kitchen was perfect and had plenty of amenities. The bathroom and shower were great, and clean, I enjoyed the personal touch of the fresh slower bouquets. The bed in the cabin was amazingly comfortable and the fairy lights added to the ambiance. The whole place had a laid back and magical feeling. There is a swing next to the entrance and that was a sweet little touch. Highly recommend!

Beautiful site. Host was exceptionally chill and welcoming, came down to our site to chat for a bit. The banana slug finds were always exciting to find. It’s in close distance to beaches and towns in the area to go see as well.

Sunshine Cabin

Wonderful little cabin and sweet property tucked away in the redwoods. There's a shared kitchen/bath house about 100 feet away stocked with all the basics! Lighting is limited at night, so I highly recommend bringing a lantern and/or headlamp. Would definitely come back!

It’s a cute little spot in the woods, not far from other people but private enough for us. Nathan seemed super chill, and the place was set up nicely! a whole lot of extra firewood, outhouse, table and sink made for a perfect weekend.

We had a great visit to baby banana slug farm , our site was secluded, very big and had level parking for a camper van, potable running water and a sink for dishes , shady and very quiet at night . The optional wood is a great deal . Nathan came out , met us and shared his knowledge about the redwood trees and the property

Nice little spot to get away!

Very nice spot to spend a few days getting away. I was by myself and felt comfortable and safe staying there. I didn’t used the shared kitchen as I had a fridge and cook stove at the cabin which was fantastic. The wash house and shower were shared space. Other reviewers complained about the lack of curtains in the cabin and the frosted windows of the shower but I felt my privacy was respected and it didn’t bother me. With other guests around it has a campground feel with the usual sounds associated with camping; talking, laughing, cars coming and going, occasional dog barking, etc. The Mushroom Cabin is farthest away from the bathroom but that isn’t actually far at all and it has a good sense of privacy. I would recommend and plan to go back.

Quiet, relaxing 2 nights site 1

We had initially booked tent site 2, but due to open availability Nathan offered us the choice of either camp site. We opted for site 1 due to its size and better privacy. The site was very well kept and had its own sink, hose, outhouse, fire pit, and picnic table. We had added firewood to our reservation and Nathan had it ready for us at the site when we arrived. There was ample wood for our 2 night stay. It was very quiet and relaxing! We loved seeing all the banana slugs. Thank you for sharing your land!!

Beautiful, quiet little redwood cab

Nate's cabin was the perfect spot for me and my little dog over the holiday weekend. A beautiful, clean little redwood cabin just the right size for one, or a couple. There was a lovely porch and a table and stools made from stumps, nestled among the redwoods. The cabin is equipped with electricity, a small fridge, a propane stove, and a wash basin and water. Ammenities of a nearby toilet, shower, and communal kitchen make for a wonderful glamping experience that I'm eager to repeat! Nate was very easy to communicate with, and the cabin was easy to find and access. I loved my time here, and even had a baby banana slug visitor for breakfast, true to the camp name! Highly recommend.

This will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I’m in the Mendocino area! The location is fabulous, with everything needed for a comfortable stay while still feeling connected to nature. The cabins offer full privacy, yet the communal areas made it easy to meet other friendly visitors. The host was wonderful and even let me use their kayak on the Navarro River — such a special touch that made the stay unforgettable.

Absolute gem! We loved every minute, the location was inland and surrounded by redwoods, but not far to the beach so you get the best of both worlds. Our dog hurt her paw (not there) and I asked Nathan for Neosporin and we came home, and it was at the door. It doesn't get any better. Internet worked great, laying outside reading was wonderful, and a fully appointed kitchen (spices included) so you can cook delish meals. Perfection. 100% Wander here.

I absolutely love camping at this site. It's beautiful, quiet, and very well set up with amenities. Nathan is an excellent host who provides what you need while being low key and not overly present. The banana slugs are a whole vibe.
