CampFire at the Riverbend

It was pretty difficult to find the camping spot . The gate that they say is blue is actually just grey metal now to turn at , so it was confusing to find the turn , and then it was confusing to find where to park at . We had booked the pebble beach trail access and we didn’t realize it was another 8 minute walk from the car with all your camp in gear to get to your campsite on a very small trail with lots of logs to step over and mud . We ended up camping next ro other campers instead because we couldn’t carry all our stuff that far and back . The river is very pretty , but there are really only 2 good easy to get to camp sites , the rest are difficult to find and a backpacking trip to get to with all your stuff .

The spot was absolutely perfect for camping, fire pit overlooking the winding River. The little cabin was essential for our dogs so we didn’t have to worry but I’d recommend an air mattress to put down. There were people tubing by all day so not total privacy but like I said, a perfect spot to camp out and unwind. Richard was very helpful in giving instructions. If you want more privacy I would recommend renting out both the cabin and the tent spot next to it. Would go back for sure

Beautiful, peaceful getaway

This is a beautiful spot with a sandy beach and crystal-clear, cool waters. At night there is great star-gazing and fireflies in the trees. A peaceful and private getaway. Richard responds quickly to messages and is very helpful! Will definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend for nature lovers.

River Getaway!

Perfect tent spot! Richard provided detailed directions and we found our spot easily! We had access into the river-definitely a great spot to float. We were able to pull our car right down to our tent spot which was very convenient. We felt nice and tucked away but still so close to everything. Will be back!

This place was wonderful, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The owner Dave is awesome. He showed some pretty good setup areas and allowed me to explore the property myself to find a spot I would like. Many options to choose from I might add. Homer is the cutest and sweetest dog I've ever met. He hung out with me around my sight for a good portion of Saturday and that night was the perfect guard dog, he lazed around outside my tent for most of the night. A family looking to get out, but not miles into the woods, I would recommend Heart Of The Country a million times over. Not far from groceries and supplies either!

Just do it, easy on easy off I10. Richard wax great. We will definitely be back! We had four dogs and 2 kids barely seen anyone. It was perfect.

Showed up and nothing like the pics, we left and I drove an additional 90 miles to another Hipcamp which was wonderful. Spent an additional 200 due to poor place. I do not recommend

This is my second time staying here. I love it. This time I stayed at the tiny cabin and last time I stayed at a tent site. It is beautiful, isolated, and easy to access. The host is an excellent communicator. I’ll be back!

What a great place. Private, quiet, secluded, wooded with views of the lake. Richards put a lot of work into making it a very nice spot. I didn’t use any facilities and was able to make it in and out with a low ground clearance vehicle. Richard was terrific even helped me with directions at 9 PM.

The land itself was beautiful and perfect for a quick getaway! The host is extremely accommodating and friendly! He even checked on us when bad weather rolled in. We were given easy to follow directions to find the location as well!

Riverside Best Camping Best Parking

Our stay by the river was exactly what we needed for our little camping trip! It was our first time with our 9 month old boxer and she loved running around our site. The view was great and the campsite just seemed peaceful and cozy for us, our 3 year old, and our pup. There’s plenty to do within an hour in all directions from the site so we had options for hikes and dog friendly places to visit. The site was clean. We managed to squeeze our 10 person tent (it’s the only one we own right now) between a couple trees and still had room to hang out. Would definitely recommend!

Best stay ever

If you looking for a rustic stay in a secluded cabin THIS is the place to do it. Just bring you a air mattress and a pump and you will sleep Like a baby. Everything you need right at your fingertips if you want fresh fish there is a river full of fish cast a line and wait. Surround yourself with peaceful vibes around the fire and sink into the serenity of the surrounding woods. Be ready for a beautiful sunrise the next morning.

The Site was spacious and provided a great view of the water. Outhouse was a short walk up the trail clean and stocked with TP. Short walk to shoreline if you’re bringing kayaks or paddle boards.

I did not stay there. Directions were bad and no direct contact. Drove around for an hour in sketchy place. Will never use this site, again. Hope I get refunded. And do not recommend.

Richard was a great and accommodating host. We picked the spot with the best parking and it was so roomy and had an amazing view with easy access into the water near the cabin. It has a fire pit and picnic table with plenty of dead wood on the premises to make a perfect fire to roast hot dogs/marshmallows. The river in front of the spot was so perfect. Perfect depth, slow enough current, and nice and cool! The little beach across the way was also a great spot to just sit and enjoy. But honestly, staying in the cool water was where it was at! The only thing I would consider is that it is a popular tubing river. So if you want a more private experience I wouldn’t go on a busy weekend. (We went 4th of July weekend) But even with the tubing, it was a really great experience! Highly recommend! Thanks for having us Richard!

River Campout

2nd time camping on Richard's little slice of heaven overlooking the riverbend! Came with a friend and her truck camper and had a wonderful time. Once the tubers all came through (by late afternoon) it was peaceful and serene. The river was high due to recent heavy rains so the pebble beach was submerged but we enjoyed hiking the short trail along the river that leads from the site to the beach. Picnic table was in great shape, brick fire ring is plenty large enough and the site is clean & clear. Large old growth trees so the site is shady. Lots of birds out this morning and first group of tubers came through around 10ish so it was just a beautiful peaceful morning having our coffee and breakfast with the woods and river to ourselves.

Serene Stay

The land was beautiful and calming; A variety of beautiful bird sounds kept me company in the morning and in the evening I was magnetized by the soft flowing waters and glow of the lightning bugs nearby. It was just what I needed; a serene pause in the middle of my long drive across the country. Would definitely visit again! The host was kind and pre-rival directions were helpful and accurate. Absolutely loved this place!
