Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minutes drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area. Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites. There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife. A keen fisher? Throw a line in at our other dam and catch your dinner! Nothing beats fresh fish, that you caught yourself, cooked on a campfire.

"I loved staying at Cradle Mountain Fishering and Camping. Scott was a really helpful and kind host. Also, he has good attention to detail, which made us feel in a peaceful environment. We had everything we needed: the firepit with enough wood, the barbecue, clean toilets, the most amazing views, and even kayaks. In conclusion, I highly recommend it."

Camping with kids & animals
Had a fantastic 3 days at Scott's place, camp-site was clean & private with a great grassed area infront of the small pond for games & the dog to have a stroll. No luck catching a fish but there was plenty in there & the kids loved feeding them. The toilets where clean & the gas BBQ & picnic tables where great to have as an option as well.

This was a great campsite, scott was lovely and we had the perfect spot beside the lake. There is kayaks there to use on the lake free of charge. The toilets were kept clean and there was a water station to fill up the van and wash dishes. Definitely would recommend this place after a day of hiking in cradle mountain!

Amazing spot, Scott is a fantastic host. The bbqs, sites, toilet facilities were 10/10. Loved the closeness to the champaign falls. The use of kayaks and walks around the dam was beautiful. Thank you!
