Marten River Escapes offers six waterfront campsites with 30 amp hydro service and three non waterfront campsites, one with 30 amp and two with 50 amp service. A couple are seasonal sites, most are transient sites. All have access to potable water faucets. A shared comfort station with flush toilets and showers with hot on demand water is centrally located. There is no sewer connections but we do have a honey wagon and guests can access dumping into our onsite septic tank.
We also have one rustic glamping cabin in the campground area and a new 14 unit building under construction on the southeast portion of the property. There is an on site restaurant offering dine-in, patio seating, and take out service. (seasonally operated - hours vary depending on the season)
In addition to the amenities available on the campsite you will also have access to enjoy the common shared areas of the property. Our property boasts 1000' of waterfront surrounded by crown land. We have a new shared dock with Muskoka chairs and a (typical Northern Ontario) swimming area in our semi-secluded bay. We recommend water shoes for those who go swimming and to bring a fishing rod (and fishing license) if you want to give that sport a go. A sunshade pergola was just added to the main dock area with several other seating areas scattered around the property providing relaxing water views and spectacular sunsets, all available for your enjoyment.
There is a large open area to enjoy a game of frisbee or other lawn games. We also have a few water toys. A canoe, a kayak, a peddle boat and two small (fishing type) motor boats are available for a small rental FEE. You must have a valid boaters license in order to be able to rent the motor boat. All water equipment renters must sign a renters agreement prior to use. Due to sizing and proper fit, for safety we do recommend guests bring their own life jackets/pfd's but we do have some that can be used.
We have a private boat launch and for a small extra fee you can reserve a dedicated boat slip space during your stay for your own personal watercraft. Boats or other water toy equipment are NOT to be left on the shore. A few local public boat launches into different lakes are also nearby.
For those powersports enthusiasts (ATV's, SXS etc.) there are 100's of km's of crown land trails accessible from our property. We do NOT rent ATV's.
There is space to park ONE passenger vehicle along with your rv/trailer or tents on each campsite. VERY large trucks will limit the usable lawn space available on the site. Extra passenger vehicles and/or equipment trailers must park in overflow parking.

Our remote off grid property in the forest east of Eagle Lake is a great place to disconnect and decompress. The roadside Bunkie sleeps 2 comfortably and can accommodate a RV trailer or tent as well. Pets are welcome.
The property has a pit toilet, and campfires are allowed in the designated pit. There is also potable water in the bin with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. In the winter water would have to be stored inside. Linen not provided.
You’ll wake up surrounded by trees and can explore the great hiking, nature viewing, atv trails and boating in the summer months. In the winter enjoy glaming in the propane heated bunkie, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow machine trails at the door. Wildlife is all around. Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. Some restaurants and stores can be found in the South River, about 20 km away.

We operate a small scale market/permaculture farm set on a beautiful 400 acre property. We are located in Calvin Township, between North Bay and Mattawa on the fringes of Algonquin Provincial Park. The growing farm currently covers 1.5 acres of our scenic property. We grow many different things here from fresh asparagus and greens in early spring to juicy raspberries in mid summer, ending the season with potatoes and onions to cook over the fire at your private camp site!
Our property boast 100 acres of rolling pastures, filled with stunning views and the best sunsets in Calvin! Another 300 acres of forest with kilometres of maintained trails. Our trails offer old growth trees, 3 large beaver ponds, wild blueberries, endless fungi and bench sitting spots to take a break and view the multitudes of wildlife that inhabit it all. The trail system offers varying degree of difficulty from our double wide smooth trails to our 3 km rugged hiking trail around our large beaver pond complex! The trails can be enjoyed during the winter months as well, many of them are groomed and maintained for those that want to take a private and peaceful cross country ski!
Including in your stay are fresh picked, in season produce and farm fresh eggs all grown right here on Peddler's Passage! There are also endless opportunities within a short drive of our farm, from Eau Claire Gorge, Samuel de Champlain Park, fishing swimming and canoeing many Northern Ontario lakes and rivers! The list goes on, come enjoy what this little township offers and enjoy a true wilderness experience in The Diamond in the Rough!

We made a last minute decision to spend Christmas in the woods. Dan pulled through with an amazing site and experience. A great property with an amazing history in Charcoal production. The site was everything we needed, fire pit, beautiful surrounding, peace and quiet. We will definitely be returning in the Spring.

There was more perks then listed in the ad we were grateful for the levelled deck platform for the tent and the provided barbecue , although we didn’t need it ! Was a nice extra ! Lake was within walking distance via the dirt road ! And another just a short distance in a vehicle ! Plenty of firewood !

Such a wonderful place! Den was so kind. he even let us use his kayak and checked on us every day to make sure we were doing well. The area is peaceful and beautiful, and the night sky full of stars took our breath away.

We had a fantastic long weekend at Brennan's Hill Camping. The place is so beautiful and well-maintained. You can see the attention to detail and to offering of a good experience in each part of the campground. The sites are sufficiently private and have a good size. The bathrooms are very, very clean, and the shower works perfectly.
Kim is an amazing host and a wonderful person. Communication is great. She was patient and understanding when we arrived later than expected for our check-in. She lent us extra sleeping bags when we were too cold the first night because we were underprepared for the temperature, and she shared her energy and laughter whenever we visited the office.
The campsite is so quiet and beautiful that we ended up staying there most of the time, rather than following our initial plan to go hiking every day. The day we left the site to explore, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lakes near the campground.
We had the opportunity to take a look at the cabins, and they are comfortable and well-designed!
We were sad to leave - and we will definitely be back!

I cant say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely beautiful. A large open area with a nicely crafted xl picnic table and fire pit. There was water and a garbage can on site. There were lots of trails and bodies of water everywhere. Dan was an awesome host and was more than helpful. My only drawback was lack of cellular service (Bell mobility). But honestly the total disconnect was definitely needed. First time I slept for 8 hours in months. Love love love it and I will be back very soon.

We rented a trailer at Kim's campground, and the amazingly everything was tidy and clean and Kim responded promptly to our requests, it was just three of us and we rented a 6 person trailer, ample space, equipped with heater and fridge lots of lighting.
Kim's attitude was friendly and assuring that if you have a problem that can be addressed she will attend to it.
She had a stargazing activity set up for everyone.
I strongly recommend this camp ground.
P.S: the power outlets don't work in the trailer and for you to be able to charge your phone you sould have 12v plugging.

Very nice land, with many things to do. It really shows that they have worked hard on the place.
Signalisation on site was great, we apreciated having the bay so close and being able to go hike.
Couple of things to know….the bugs in august while we stayed were CRAZY. Our dog wanted to atay in the van most of the time because of that, so bring ton of bug spray.
Also, the campsite #1 is really close from the Glamping (accomodation). A couple was staying with 4 young kids and it was pretty loud.
Our 20’ van fit in the spot, but larger than that would be hard.
I’d recommend campsite #3 for more privacy.
The owner’s dog, who is very kind, is offleash and will probably come say hi. Good thing to know if you have a dog yourself.
The place is well kept, hosts are amazing and overall it was great. Good attention to details from the host!
