Transparent Sands, Diamond Point

We had a wonderful camping trip at Site 1. The riverside views were beautiful, and the site felt private, spacious, and comfortably cool thanks to the shade—especially appreciated during the summer. There was plenty of room for our car and tents, making it a great setup for our family and dogs. Jim was a friendly, helpful host, and we especially appreciated how clean and well kept the bathroom and shower were. The river access was a little adventurous, which made it extra fun for our kids and dogs, and there are great kayaking opportunities nearby. The bathroom and shower are located at another site. They are not far away, but having direct access from Site 1 would have made an already excellent stay even more convenient. Overall, a beautiful spot that we’d happily visit again.

Secluded site with amenities

Site #1 was a great spot to car camp - plenty of room for 2 vehicles, a tent and more. Well kept property, nice views of the pines & creek and you have access to a bathroom, shower and running water if needed. Nice fire pit and firewood is available. Plenty of hiking trails nearby as well as a Price Shopper, gas stations and restaurants if you want. I-87 is right nearby and you can regularly hear trucks on it, but it also quickly falls into the background.. its the only reminder that you're not deep in the woods somewhere. Overall very peaceful and quiet location and James is a great host. Will definitely recommend and plan to stay again.

Beautiful views!

Spent three days at this beautiful location. Saw a bald eagle, hummingbird and great blue heron. James was a great host and the shower and setup to wash dishes was extremely convenient.

I stayed at site 1 and loved it. Very secluded, and setup so I could watch the fire while overlooking the river. James helped get me settled in and give me a lay of the land. Definitely recommend!

We loved camping on James’s land! He was an incredible host and very helpful when needed. The property is beautiful and has an unbeatable sunset over looking the river and mountains. Our young daughter and two dogs were with us, it was a place for them!

Camping with a view!

What a great spot! We really enjoyed the convenience of wood for fires, the hot shower & sink for dishes. The sunsets are BEAUTIFUL! The only thing that is overlooked in description was the 24foot drop of bank to river. Pictures disguise this in reviews & I would not choose this campsite if we had kids with us! Otherwise, we will be back!

Just as described- a lovely spot to stay. The port-a-potty was pleasant, the sink with a hose made it easy to keep everything clean and everyone hydrated, and the fire pit and picnic table were fun additions to our afternoons and evenings. jThe spot felt special because of the river's morning fog and evening beaver. I'd recommend staying here and I'd stay here again.

Second Wonderful Visit!

This is my second time staying on James’s property at site 2 with my dog! We loved it just as much as the first time. James and Debbie are super welcoming and easy to reach if you need anything. Porta potty was exceptionally clean! There’s an outdoor shower as well which I didn’t end up using, and also a sink where you can wash your dishes, etc. Site 2 has the most direct views over the water, so that’s why it’s been our favorite. Hope to be back again next year!

This place is a beautiful gem. The site we were in was very private. Had a little trail down to the river which was basically a private little beach area. The owner is a cool dude and did everything to help make the trip that much better. Would recommend this to anyone, in fact I already have to a bunch of my friends. Would definitely go back.

James took great care of his property. The site was very spacious and allowed a lot of freedom to be in shade or sun. Pota-potty was very clean and the outdoor shower was nice to rinse off after day of hiking and paddling. James had great recommendations for SUPing with the pups and it was an extra bonus to meet his new puppy! Highly recommend!

James was absolutely wonderful! Going above and beyond, he made my friends and I feel safe, welcomed, and in good hands. The campsite was perfect — having river access was a huge plus, as we got to swim and cool off from the summer sun. The log bundle was key, as we had a campfire each night! Jim’s land was clean and well manicured, and he was a very personable host. While there is river view, there is no river access. Also good to note is that the bathroom/shower area is directly behind site 2, so if other campers are staying at the sites, you will see them.
