Beware of help, hidden fees/rules
Overall, the site was beautiful. We stayed at Sawyer's Bar #5, which was well shaded and had direct access to the river steps away. But we won't be back and wouldn't recommend to others.
1. The roads to the campsites are unpaved, hilly and an additional 15-20 minute slow drive once off the main street so would not recommend if you do not have an AWD vehicle if you're towing. Otherwise, you may get stuck (depending on where that happens, you may not have cell service to call for help) and have to pay someone from the grounds to help tow you (they mention in their rules/waiver at $200/hour so must happen frequently enough).
2. There is soft, sinking sand RIGHT next to the #5 parking spot/road that your vehicle can very quickly get stuck in if you even slightly turn your car the wrong direction.
3. The last stretch of road into site #5 is a fair distance, bumpy, curved and very narrow with no space to turn so you HAVE to reverse your vehicle/trailer in or out to leave. If you're not confident, don't book.
4. BEWARE of accepting any help from employees. First ask how much it's going to cost you. Unsolicited, employees stopped by on their own (don't ask us how they knew we were there; cameras or monitoring of the gate?) to offer help with our trailer given the circumstances in #2-3 above and Rachael later asked us to pay $200.
5. While not in the rules, gas generators are NOT allowed. So don't expect to be able to use a trailer that's not solar powered.
