Hello Campers! Our property is 16.5 acres, two of which are along the Tygart Valley River and the rest are within forest canopy on the mountainside. We are in the low foothills of the Appalachia. We have 4 riverfront sites and we are continually changing our space around This year we will be adding a tiny house on site 4 and a sweatlodge with soaking pool on Site 1 additional camping spots along the property near outhouse

Each site is equipped with a steel fire pit/grill and a picnic table. We have been busy building hiking trails and more primitive campsites on the 14.5 acres on the hillside across the road from the riverfront for all to enjoy.  

Step outside your tent and enjoy natures bounty —outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching are all at your fingertips and much more. There are 300+ acres of public land less than one mile away with miles of ATV and hiking trails and stocked ponds. If you're a fan of waterfalls just 4 miles down river is Arden Falls, one of our areas best kept secrets. The Tygart Valley River is one of the top kayaking rivers in the country. Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore.  Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata.

We are the perfect place to come to explore the wild beauty of West Virginia without the crowds. A hidden gem!

Possum Tail Farm

We began operating our 150 acre farm in 2011 and became the first Certified Naturally Grown Livestock farm in West Virginia in 2013. We raise 100% grass-fed beef, Western and Chinese medicinal herbs.&nbsp;Our family garden supplies more than half of our vegetables and our favorite berries, and our flock of chickens supply eggs and an early morning wake-up call for our campers!&nbsp;There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm.
We are 3 miles from&nbsp;Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks.&nbsp;We are 20 minutes from&nbsp;Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous&nbsp;hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are also 20 minutes from&nbsp;Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away.&nbsp;&nbsp;Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore within 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.We welcome campers of all kinds!

All of the camp sites have a beautiful view of the Cheat river in Rowlesburg, WV. You can swim, float, or kayak in the river & camp. Parking is available on site.

Czar Haus is located in the Central West Virginia Mountains. 
We have over 2000 feet of frontage on a Native Trout (Brook) Stream which is also stocked with Rainbow Trout by the WV DNR.
ATV/UTV roads and trails abound.
We are also 3 miles from the Helvetia Hutte Restaurant and less than 10 miles from Pickens.
Access is by two lane highway but many gravel roads converge in Czar for access to hundreds of miles of off-road trails and dirt roads.

All of the sites are in our large 10 acre field.

Includes use of the pavilion, picnic table and and fire-ring.

Hog Hollow Farms

100 acres or farm land and woods.  In the middle of Appalachian forest.  Farm land and farm animals to watch and feed.  Plenty of room for camping. Mountains of Morgantown 💙💛

Property once owned by my grandparents, beef & dairy farm. Now turned into vegetable garden and small gift shop with seasonal market. High on a hill with breathtaking views. Sunsets and sunrises often seen and photos taken by many guests. Mostly grass with some gravel areas.  Plenty of space for dogs to run and play.  We do have free range chickens so make sure you specify in your request if you have pets or not. Thanks!!!!

River House Campground

We have 14 groomed campsites along Cheat River in Rowlesburg, WV. One of our accommodations is a small caboose! There are fire rings, picnic tables, and tent pads. The Bathhouse and Lounge are available 24-7 exclusively for our guests. The campground is adjacent to our Lodge and boat rental businesses. Two state parks are within 25 miles: Blackwater Falls and Canaan. The Allegheny Trail cuts through Rowlesburg. We have inflatable river rafts, toys, a bounce house, and slides.

Wilderness camping right along the Allegheny trail, just off the beaten path with streams and nature to enjoy.  You will have a quiet and relaxing camp with nothing but babbling brooks and campfire crackling. Easy access to Allegheny Trail Trailhead 178-188 Peddlers Glory trail which is an old roadbed that follows the creek and used to be a state-maintained road once upon a time. It is still a great hiking trail and is a very popular trail for UTV's and ATV's accessible from this site.  Ragtavern Road also offers miles of back country exploring and riding adventures as well.  Local places to enjoy including High Ground Brewery, Portland Coffee Shop and Shorthorns restaurant and music venue all within 4 miles.
