Private marina with 2 small outbuilding for use as shelter or to use in combination with your own provided tent. 12v power and water at site. Porta Potty provided. Boats higher than 8 foot may not be able to enter or exit Black Lake due to trail of cda bridge over access channel.

Very remote location accessible by car via maintained dirt road. Firewood provided. 

Additional guests can pitch a tent. Please bring your own bedding. A Blackstone grill and a propane stove are provided for cooking. (For 2024, an inflatable cabin has been purchased to provide additional sleeping space)

Internet and wifi calling are available. Info provided in welcome packet.

Yonder Hills Disc Golf at The Oasis

The Oasis is a private disc golf course, event venue, and camping destination centrally located on the Palouse.

The Oasis offers level lawn tent camping and off-grid parking for car, van, SUV or small RV parking. There is a larger group camping site and a few smaller private sites to choose from around the property. Guests will have a choice of camp site and be directed to the best site for their needs and weather conditions.

Guests may have seasonal campfires. There are campfire pits at most camp sites. The parking area and group camping area have community fire pits. Firewood can be purchased onsite. Please request firewood in advance so it can be ready at your site.

The Oasis is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind. Stargaze late at night. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Have a little gathering of friends and make memories on the farm.

The Oasis is also great for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for van and tailgate camping.

 No electrical, sewage hookups, or potable water are available at this time. Bottled water is available onsite or in St. John 5 miles away. Cold shower or washing water is available onsite. Electrical outlets in the parking area can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, so look forward to more and better amenities all the time.

The Oasis boasts a tournament-level, 18-basket disc golf course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A great mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes awaits you! Scorecard, course map, pay box, bug spray, med kit, and guest book can be found in the northwest corner of the red barn. Discs can be rented and reserved online and ready at your campsite when you arrive. Disc golf can be included in your reservation or can be paid on Hipcamp or at the course.

LOCAL SURROUNDINGS

St. John has a bar/restaurant, café, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Tom Schierman, the owner of the Oasis is a lifelong Palouse photographer.

-Rock Lake is 15 minutes from the Oasis. 

-The Cascades to Palouse rail trail travels past the lake, through the scablands and hills not far away. 

-The Escure Ranch along Rock Creek is picturesque and interesting history as well as great fishing. 

-Steptoe Butte is around a half-hour away. 

-Bonnie Lake is also about a 30 minute drive.

There are numerous cool places to visit and explore on the Palouse, ask your friendly local where to go and what to do!

HISTORY

The Oasis is a 35-acre family homestead that has been in the family four generations. It was purchased by the Schierman family in 1916 who were wheat and barley famers in the age of horse-drawn farming. The Schierman family farmed 550 acres of their own land and up to 1750 acres total in the beginning of the new century. Grandpa had the pond dug while Tom was in college with a huge clamshell draught. Tom planted thousands of trees when he moved home from college to farm. James and Jon are continuing the legacy of landscaping.

The Old Weber Farm

Owned the last 100 years by only two families. The Weber family was the last to own and operate the farm for over 60 years. House was built in 1917 and the barn was added in 1925. Legend has it Bing Crosby sang in the barn himself after a long summer bucking bales in Cheney.

 We have a RV/Tent pad with full hookups, and a shower house.                                 
Tenting discounts are available.
Its a great place to stop by for the night when traveling through on Hwy 95. There is some highway noise.  
Firewood is provided.                                                                               
Biking can be done across the highway with more awesome views.

Golden Hills Family Farm

We are a small startup family farm. Our 80 acre parcel will offer you with many different opportunities. From the 40 acres of Alfalfa growing, to the orchard, to the many different livestock that we have here. Our family has jumped into the most amazing lifestyle and we love it. 

We are currently full time in our RV on the land. We are currently under a remodel construction project. It is close to the camp site. However, you are far enough away to still feel you have privacy and enjoy your stay.  While waiting to get our house finished we have jumped into figuring out where our family farm is headed. It has been a fun journey so far and we look forward to being able to share it with you.

SPECIAL NOTES: Our driveway is a little steep upon entrance. The power and water are further away than normal. We provide everything needed to make this a non problem for you. We have 4 “barn” cats running around. They tend to be too friendly and curious sometimes. We cannot guarantee that you won’t have cat prints on your vehicle… or one even trying to sneak in with you. 

We just want you to have the full picture before spending your hard earned money and trying to enjoy your stay.

Your stay will be had on our fully operational small family farm. You are welcome to enjoy our animals following a short conversation of the rules while on your stay. 

Your RV door will be facing our neighbors black angus cow pasture. It is possible that you could have some visitors out your door from time to time! (On the other side of the fence of course) We typically have trails cut throughout the property for exploring if you choose. 

Our family lives on-site and fairly close to the RV pad. While we have no problem giving you as much privacy as possible. We do want you to know that this is a working farm and that means, heavy equipment could need to be operated. Animals make noise, and offer smells if the wind is blowing just right. We will almost always be outside doing something. Please be sure that this is something you are aware of and willing to have be a part of your stay.
