Learn more about this land:This is glamping at it's finest!  Ghost Barn Yurt Glamping features 3 luxury platform yurts; 1 with a king bed, one with 2 twin beds, and the third set up a living room with a convertible daybed.  Nestled in the Agricultural Reserve of Montgomery County, MD, Ghost Barn Yurts are all equipped with a solar powered generator, so plug in your phone, your speaker or tablet. All linens, pillows, towels and blankets are provided for you in addition to having private bathroom and shower facilities just steps away from the camp.Roast marshmallows over our large firepit while relaxing in Adirondack chairs, or use our propane grill to sear a steak to perfection and gather at the picnic table. The campsite is bordered by a brewery and a short distance to much more in Montgomery County, MD.

Bears Den Campground

Set up your tent in our remote but easily accessible campground, 100 yards off the Appalachian Trail. Roast marshmallows by the fire pit and watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. 
Individual site capacities are varied! Please take note of this when selecting your site upon checkout.

About the property
Located on a 66-acre plot just five miles from the Shenandoah River, our property offers amazing access to hiking and the outdoors while also keeping civilization within striking distance. Bear Chase Brewery is just a half mile walk across the street, and we are 15 miles from Purcellville. 
The land and lodge used to be the summer home of a trained opera singer, whose singing could be heard throughout the mountain. 
Your Host lives onsite in the stone house that also acts as a hostel for hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Built in the 1930's all from locally sourced hand-hammered stone, the house is open every night from 5pm - 9pm. 
Note that we offer several campsites relatively close to each other, so you should expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay. 
About the listing
Pitch your tent in a forested area just a short walk up from where you’ll park your car. Enjoy unbeatable proximity to hiking and panoramic views while still having basic amenities that ensure a comfortable stay. 
You’ll have access to a composting pit toilet, and can access potable water from the tap in the lodge. That’s also where you can access hot showers. As noted above, we host Appalachian Trail thru hikers on the property, so you may see them hanging around or sleeping in the bunkhouse near the shared facilities. 
For meals, we have picnic tables, and you are encouraged to cook over the fire pits that accompany each site. Please practice Leave No Trace practices during your stay, as the property has raccoons and other critters who will be drawn to any food scraps that are left behind.  
Pets are allowed! Please keep them on leash during your stay.  
Trash can be disposed of in the bins onsite. 
Additional details to note
Expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay. No kitchen equipment is provided, so campers must bring their own supplies if they'd like to cook. We do not offer WiFi, but there is good cell reception for all common carriers.

Green Mountain Farm

Green Mountain Farm is 80 picturesque acres in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

This site is named after the wooden table it has bear claw marks on it from one of our local black bears who visit occasionally.

Unfortunately, we are unable to host overnights at this time due to regulations. We are sad to not be able to have you here but could recommend Sky Meadows or Shenandoah State Parks nearby. 

You are welcome to visit the cidery to order drinks and bottles-to-go during our open hours (Sat.11-5; Sun 12-5; weekdays by appt.) or request after-hours pick-up. 

We hope to be available by Fall or Spring and offer you a $15 credit to use on your next visit. We recommend advance reservations especially for Columbus Day & Memorial Day.

HipCamp uses a number system but we do not. You may choose your own spot, from our vast property, depending on your needs. Everyone should be spread out, giving privacy to each site. Many, many areas to camp all the way up into the mountain foothill. Welcome to arrive after 8:00 a.m. to begin setting up. Prior to arrival, reply back to our check-in email letter we will send you requesting a copy of photo IDs per adult, names & description of children and pets, emergency contacts per person and a Release of Liability statement, all due via email PRIOR to your arrival. 

Tents, trailers and RVs are welcome. Bring portable potties for comfort. No smoking allowed on property. No charge for children and pets camping.

Do not bring wood to the property (may transfer insects). Plenty of fallen wood to forage for your campfires. Fires out @ midnight. If planning to build a campfire, pack a shovel for assistance in managing the fire and water buckets for emergency. We have hoses for filling (unless you are camping near the creek you won’t need). 

Cider Bar open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays / 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays and weekdays by appointment. Order our seasonal ciders for the campsite. Available by the pint, 64 oz. growler, 4-pack & 24 bottle case for take-home selections.

The entire property is dog friendly. We were pleasantly surprised that dogs were allowed in the tasting room!

Cross Creek Farm

Originally part of Blake Farm, built in the 1930's.

 Blake Farm was subdivided into 5 acres farmettes in the 1990's. 

The original farmhouse is next door, now known as Agape Farms. 

The forest has reclaimed much of the original Blake Farm land. 

Visit over 4 acres of available land, from the pastures, to the wooded creek, or the very back edge of the farm abutting deep woods.

 

Spend relaxing time petting the Nigerian Dwarf goats, Rhode Island Red chickens, and the super-friendly livestock guard dogs (Thomasina, Bucky, and Sarge).

We are also located adjacent to Agape Farms, with its horses, ducks, and chickens.

All this in horse country just minutes from I-95 and an hour from Washington, DC or Richmond, VA.

Tjhe site is down a 100 ft X 14 ft wide narrow drive. 

Peaceful Hollow Pines

Learn more about this land:Just 1.6 miles from an Appalachian trail access point, our site is a beautiful slice of Blue Ridge mountain life. We have a small hobby farm with chickens, peacocks, and livestock guardian dogs (who bark at night). The rest of the property is wooded, with a 1/2 acre clearing great for tents and campers. PLEASE NOTE: at least one camper must be 21+. Until May 1, fires only from to 4pm-midnight due to local restrictions. You may purchase firewood from us or gather your own.  :-)
