Pigeon Valley Farms River Camp is a humble sanctuary. It hosts many types of housing and parking sites. The Owl's Nest Glamping Cabin, Fireflies RV Parking, Dark Skies tent sites, planned springtime tiny gardens and riverfront view on the James River. Plenty enough room for all to be with nature and play outdoor games. Relax, heal and gather with your family and close friends. We also welcome your well behaved pets!

Twin Poplar Farm

The Farm is located on 65 private acres of Woods and Field on the Tye River. This is a place for people who love nature and want to be out in it. We have chosen to prioritize conservation over ease of access, so though the sites are all walk in only  [or paddle in!] this means you will camp on the grass or leaves not the gravel of a parking lot. 
There are only 3 sites on the land so you can soak up nature without noisy neighbors.

"Twin Poplar" refers to the Tulip Poplar's extraordinary tenacity, after being cut down, like the Phoenix who returns to life after death, a Poplar will often regrow as two "twin" trunks. A chance for a new life and growth!

End of the day, fire by the river. The Beach is a perfect spot for fires and to put in or take out for a paddle, just steps from the camp site.

Late afternoon as the sun is setting and the woodpeckers have a good laugh at you getting a fire going!

La La Land Farm

La La Land is the realized dream of two retired Army Veterans.
 Owned since 2014, the owners have been steadily turning the farm into their vision of a place that's part horse farm, part peaceful retreat, with room to roam and amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
 The farm is 58 acres of pastures and woods, with 2 creeks and 20 acres of trails suitable for horses and atv's.

If you want to stay on the hill above the creek, there is a flat area next to the hunting stand to pitch your tent.  You can climb the stand for a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Harris Farm Grown

We have owned our property for 10 years and have grown our family farm starting with Tennessee Walking horses and now Black Angus cattle.  Our farm has organic pastures for our cattle to roam.  We have 2 ponds for fishing or paddle boating. Plenty of nature to watch or just plain relaxing in Mother Nature. 
The horses are friendly... so are the dogs!Learn more about this land:Park your camper on one of our spots and enjoy the quiet of way off the asphalt! Enjoy the Fire ring and picnic table area nearby for s’mores or just hanging out under the stars listening to the frogs. This is a working farm with cattle in the fields grazing and horses out in the pastures. Several pups have run of the land and are very people friendly. Please note: Site 1 has 50 amp power and Site 2 has 20 amp power.

James River Depot

An active hay field nestled between the river and the railroad.  A great place to enjoy some R and R.  We love to float the James and there is easy access to the river on our property.  A beautiful field as well as some trees for added shade. Fun to hear the trains and the water as you get amazing views of the night sky. 

Arcadia Sanctuary



Arcadia is the name we gave to our 83-acre mountainside retreat center for Earth-Based Spirituality.
It’s nestled on the south-eastern slope of 4000-foot Mount Pleasant in Central Virginia, convenient to I81. (Note, there is a town called Arcadia off I81, but that is not us. Not to confuse.)

We have a mountain creek with waterfalls, towering Beech and Sycamore trees, Witch Hazels leaning over the water, trout, crayfish, snakes, salamanders, and all the rest. We have about 2000 feet of the vertical mountainside with trails to explore. (But the stage and most of the camping is down closer to creek-level.)
 There are more sites higher up the mountain if you like more isolated camping. 
More of a trek to the bathrooms/showers/freshwater.

We have one of the finest private stages on the East Coast with a top-notch sound system and a natural amphitheater which is like a single pie wedge of a Stadium that has regular live performances throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
 Our yurt is regularly booked as a unique glamping experience. 
There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, and guinea fowl free-roaming.
Two dogs, nine cats, and several humans are blessed to call this home.
