Spring Lake Farm Guides Quarters

Located on 43 acres the Guides Quarters is located near our 16-acre spring-fed lake. With a queen bed in the upper loft area and a futon in the lower area, it sleeps 3 comfortably. A private bathhouse is less than 200 feet away. Heat and fans provided, no AC. A working farm with chickens, goats and Bo, our bloodhound greeter dog.

This property has many guest cottages all over it but only 1 RV spot! Enjoy relaxing in your RV by a picnic table and chairs. Not much room but a good spot to park and be close to wineries/breweries. No dogs please.

Twin Poplar Farm

The Farm is located on 65 private acres of Woods and Field on the Tye River. This is a place for people who love nature and want to be out in it. We have chosen to prioritize conservation over ease of access, so though the sites are all walk in only  [or paddle in!] this means you will camp on the grass or leaves not the gravel of a parking lot. 
There are only 3 sites on the land so you can soak up nature without noisy neighbors.

"Twin Poplar" refers to the Tulip Poplar's extraordinary tenacity, after being cut down, like the Phoenix who returns to life after death, a Poplar will often regrow as two "twin" trunks. A chance for a new life and growth!

End of the day, fire by the river. The Beach is a perfect spot for fires and to put in or take out for a paddle, just steps from the camp site.

Late afternoon as the sun is setting and the woodpeckers have a good laugh at you getting a fire going!

La La Land Farm

La La Land is the realized dream of two retired Army Veterans.
 Owned since 2014, the owners have been steadily turning the farm into their vision of a place that's part horse farm, part peaceful retreat, with room to roam and amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
 The farm is 58 acres of pastures and woods, with 2 creeks and 20 acres of trails suitable for horses and atv's.

If you want to stay on the hill above the creek, there is a flat area next to the hunting stand to pitch your tent.  You can climb the stand for a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Plenty of room. Well managed. 2 hooks in the trees to hang trash bags.  No table. Plenty of room behind me in the picture.

Lot's of benches to sit on around the place. They also double as fun places to play around.

"Far Country" Camp

This property was owned by a composer and pianist, old friends of the family. I run an artist residency here and work on a variety of building and art projects with friends and travelers. Learn more about this land:There are camping spots (wild) along the creek, you can have a fire, outdoor shower. Nearby swimming (15 min drive) at Goshen Pass and trails (Blue Ridge Parkway is a short drive), big bright stars at night, birds all over the meadow and fireflies. Access to indoor toilet and sink is optional. Parking for 2 vehicles or one small RV (400 feet from camping areas)

James River Depot

An active hay field nestled between the river and the railroad.  A great place to enjoy some R and R.  We love to float the James and there is easy access to the river on our property.  A beautiful field as well as some trees for added shade. Fun to hear the trains and the water as you get amazing views of the night sky.
