This is a private driveway in a great location in Big Cottonwood Canyon.  The driveway is long and surrounded by aspen, abutting the "old" unused house on my property, so it is private.  Although near the main road, the site feels private.  You are less than 1 minute walk to Big Cottonwood Creek, and there is hiking out the door in multiple directions, as well as easy biking to Solitude Resort.  As a bonus, you are 1/4 mile from Silver Fork Lodge if you get a hankering for a prepared meal.

Please note that there are NO DOGS allowed in Big or Little Cottonwood canyons. There is a high fine if so. So this is not an appropriate spot to bring your four-legged friends unfortunately.

Great for feeling like you're off the grid, but also within close proximity to all the amenities Midway has to offer (and within ~15 minutes of Park City). Other destinations close by include golf courses, fishing, hiking, and resorts like Zermatt and Homestead.

The bottom floor is great for hosting with plenty of room for guests between the large deck(beautiful views), living room, and kitchen space.

Second Chance Ranch

My husband Shaun and I fell into rescuing horses quite by accident.  We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day!  Please come visit, enjoy our beautiful property and support an amazing non-profit cause while you are at it! Learn more about this land:We are a non-profit horse rescue situated on one acre. The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep".  This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays.  The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other.  You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house.  If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm.  Parking is located a few hundred feet from the campsite, just off of the road.  You must walk a few hundred feet to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way.  We look forward to having you camp with us!

Such a cute campsite down by the creek! It was dried up for the winter when we got here, but would be heavenly to fall asleep to in the spring or summer!

The barn and corral! Jessie was sweet enough to let us pitch the tent in this adorable barn for the night so we wouldn't freeze in the 30-degree night!

Our ranchette is for boarding horses- both monthly and overnights.  We are big rig friendly with rotomill roads and spacious views.  We have small pastures where horses  roam and graze.  For Hip Campers we hope you enjoy the beautiful views and spectacular sunsets.  Please "self serve" park at the north end of the sand arena- about 400 yards north of Pioneer Rd. No meetNgreet needed.Learn more about this land:Plenty of RV parking (no tents, no car camping) at the north side of our Horse Boarding Ranch.  Big Rig friendly, no road noise, safe and secure.  More of a "safe parking/overnight" spot. Not a campground.  1.25 mile west of I-15, greater Ogden area.  See the yellow lines on the google map for entry and X for parking spot.  No "meet N greet" offered, please self serve.  RVs only. No tents/no car camping.

Ranch camping with seasonal stream

Learn more about this land:Wildlife watchings, typically deer, hawks, eagles, wild turkeys, raccoons at times, songbirds. Creek is seasonal, this is surrounded by farms but this unique property has many tall cottonwood trees, a firepit, well water that is delicious and amazing views. 

Wildlife, deer often abundant, fawns, buck frequent the property for a drink of water and a place to bed down. Redtail hawks, owls, other birds often here, its their respite, so we ask for visitors to not harass wildlife, but to bring a chair and a camera or binoculars. The night sky is also amazing. 

If you have horses, bring them, many mountains where you can ride

This tent site is right in a little scrub oak forest, nestled in the foothills below Snowbasin. Beautiful views of Morgan Valley, Snowbasin Ski resort, and a gateway to fun. We are semi-rural, so expect wild turkeys randomly visiting, along with our neighbor's chickens, and a rooster crowing. Maybe even a deer or moose, if lucky. A starry sky, because we don't have much light pollution.

The site itself is tucked behind a hill, perfect for privacy, and is surrounded by  scrub oak trees. Campers are welcome to use the fire pit area chairs and our portable propane fire place.There are some plug in bistro lights for camping ambiance and a power strip. There is drinkable water at the faucet by our front porch. Cooking with a propane camp stove is ok. There is a screened compost toilet, power strip for charging needs, and a picnic table at each site, Because of Utah's extreme drought, no smoking is permitted. Generally no dogs except service, but perhaps negotiable. The sites are a short walk down a trail, so not wheelchair accessible. The parking spot is level, & could work for a rooftop tent or camper van, but it is in partial view of my neighbor's house, which the camp sites are not.

You can hike right from the site to Strawberry Creek (about 3 mile trail)

10 minutes from Snowbasin (skiing, hiking, mountain biking)

15 minutes from Morgan ( ATV rentals, Horseback riding, burgers and bars)

15 minutes from Ogden ( you would never notice) 

15 minutes from tubing the Weber river

20 minutes from Boating or swimming at Pineview in Eden, or in East Canyon

Great lighting! Can turn lights off for dark fires
