CD&J Mini Ranch is a 35-acre farm and ranch in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. We became Certified Naturally Grown and started thinking about and implementing ways to treat our land better. We raise and sell beef, pork, chickens, eggs, and seasonal vegetables. We are on a lake that normally has a lot of fish, but due to the extreme drought we have experienced, the lake is sometimes dry, but we still have excellent bird watching. It is the first time that our lake has dried up and it is definitely due to our extra hot and dry years. We have a quiet place for you to rest and enjoy the sounds of our animals. Our camping spots are not close together like a regular campground, but you will be able to see and possible hear your neighbors when outside. We have picnic tables under shade trees and an available flushing toilet with sinks for those in smaller campers. No tents allowed at this time. We really love what we do here at our mini ranch and hope you will too.

Beautiful property. Welcoming hosts. Nice amenities with bar/covered eating area. We did experience the sprinkler system one night on our tent (they did warn us) and also heard the very loud and creaky windmill several hours each night and the rooster each morning around 5AM. Still a nice place to say.

This spot is beautiful! We loved hanging out with Brian on his beautiful huge pavilion looking out at nature. The birds are amazing. Unfortunately, they just had a huge rainfall of 14 inches, and the mosquitoes ate us alive. If it wasn't for the mosquitoes, this would have been one of our top places! Brian actually warned us, but we still went, and it was still a great trip!

Weekend Trip to Rancho Los Tres Corrales

This place was perfect for our family of 10! They are very laid back and family friendly. There’s an indoor pool where our kids played for probably 6 hours one day. It’s nice to be out of the burning sun. There’s some little farm animals which the kids got to help feed. Goats, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs. There’s a laundry room where we were able to get caught up on laundry included with the stay. Our kids also had tons of fun fishing in the small pond on the property that is well stocked with fish. Over all a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone!

I highly recommend this place as a particularly good place for spaceX oriented people. Mike has extensive knowledge of the goings on at the Boca Chica launch site and of the many viewing options available. He gave me great info about one that fit my needs this time and intrigued me about the possibilities for future launches. I hope to return!

I car camped here so I could hike at Resaca de la Palma State Park and Estero Llano Grande State Park. It was perfect for my needs. I had a tent space with a fire pit and utility table, water and electric were accessible nearby. The host loaned me a camp chair. Included in the price were communal showers, bathroom, laundry, pool, and kitchen/bar area. There is a fish pond, huge off-leash dog area, and farm animals. Rancho Los Tres Corrales is a wonderful place to camp to visit the state parks and Palo Alto National Battlefield.

First of all the owners and crew here are amazing hosts and good people. Less than an hour from both South Padre Island and Boca Chica Beach, this easy to find ranch has amenities galore and Authentic Mexican food is 5 minutes away! Wifi, laundry, showers, pool, jacuzzi, farm animals! Gated entry with large fenced in area to let your best friend (dog), or kids run freely. Not to mention the pond with catch and release fishing which has a fountain with lights at night! Firepits for every site, power and water. Yes bring your class A motor home. Not about the RV/camping thing?Check into the guest house in the back with patio and grill or the 'Barndiminium' next door for a cozier touch. Space X fans this is your Launchpad.

5 nights at Further We Go

Great tent camping site overlooking a small resaca. The shelter provides a great place to cook and eat out of the rain (and also provides electricity for charging devices.) Another couple was camping in an RV at the other end of the property but there was enough distance between sites that we rarely saw or heard them. We would normally camp in a state or county park but all the local options were crowded and noisy. Brian's place, by contrast, was very peaceful and private. We enjoyed seeing and hearing a lot of bird species. Pretty good stargazing as well.
