Welcome to Texas Safari Camp Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals. Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire. You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires. There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house. There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. Use of firepit and grill, kayaks and paddleboards, rod & reels, hammocks, swinging chair and tire swing is included. Firewood can be purchased $1 per stick

It has extended acreage with multiple ecosystems. I just found a spring and will be doing livestock. There is yurt and tiny house for rent. There is an RV plug, electricity (extra fee), and a water hose. The site is close to downtown Lindale (5 minutes) restaurants and shopping. 15 minutes from tyler. It is country living but still close to city action. The lower parts of the property require 4-wheel drive, but the top has water and electricity, so any car is fine. As this is an outdoor area, there are bugs and critters. I have never had a problem, but this is notice that you agree to assume all liability and responsibility for your party by camping at this property. NEW: Starlink Satellite Internet! Unleased Pets are added fee. If they are in a structure other than your own, they must be in a crate, or we have a fenced dog park area.

Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe. There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know? Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! Weekend Trip to Spiritual Retreat and Cntry Resort

The stay at Randy and Cheryl‘s hummingbird retreat was fabulous. Had a great reunion with some old friends. Randy and Sheryl were fabulous house. They showed us around the place and told us about all the amenities of which there are many the hot tub the trails the movies, well stocked Cabin exercise room library the animals it was just a really great place to gather we all had a a great time and we’re able to relax and enjoy. I had so much fun with my pup at the ranch! It was a wonderful experience and one I absolutely want to have again. My dog and I were able to explore the property and I love that he was able to be off leash. He is a very well behaved dog and it was lovely he got to be wild and free. Can’t wait to escape the city lights and enjoy nature again.

Weekend Trip to Texas Safari Camp

This was one of our best camping trips! My 7 year old grandson loved it. I felt safe about allowing him to be independent. The sites are beautiful. We stayed in the Tree House which was very quant and comfortable. Viewing the night sky from the deck was incredible. Rand is an amazing host! He is very friendly and informative. We would definitely do this again. My grandson said he can’t wait to bring his parents.

I had the most wonderful experience camping at Beulah Ranch this past weekend. The campsite (The Sink) was so cozy, the swing was fun, and I loved how natural and private everything felt. It was very peaceful, with everything I needed provided—including even batteries for electricity. The property itself is amazing, and my dogs had the best time enjoying the freedom of the open space. Noah’s hard work and creativity really show throughout the ranch, and it’s clear how much work he and his dad have put into making it special. They are both incredibly friendly, genuine, and cultured hosts who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. This will definitely become a regular spot for me, and I can’t wait to see all of the exciting plans they have for the future come to life. If you’re looking for the perfect getaway with a big family, pets, or a group of friends—Beulah Ranch is the place to go. You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and you MUST try the pizza. It is so delicious and an experience I promise you have likely never had before.

The hummingbird treehouse was enchanting! Perfect view of the sunset overlooking the pond ! Randall was very welcoming and generous :). The outhouse is very clean and despite it being August and hot in Texas, the insects were not a problem! Also the fan in the treehouse kept us cool all night after a refreshing cold outdoor shower. The treehouse was such a cute romantic getaway spot along our roadtrip! Highly recommend, will be back :)

I truly in incredible experience. I’m a solo mom and took three of my kids age 36 and nine. We had no screens and endless fun! We loved all the big touches in the little touches from having the big swing over the creek for the kids to play on morning at night. The games in the tent. Extra batteries which we didn’t even end up needing. The coffee brought in the morning with muscadine jam that they make from scratch in house from the grapes on the property. But getting picked up in a side-by-side with my kids and cruising around the ranch with the owner Noah. And taken to the outdoor kitchen, which he made from scratch was incredible, seeing the outdoor garden and hearing his passion for the land and time outdoors and introducing people to it made such a special experience. There is a red and white checker tablecloth and candles laid out for us in the kitchen and he had marinated and smoked chicken and a couple varieties of pizza that were out of this world better than any restaurant I’ve been to. The ambiance the hospitality. I’ve stayed at glamping spots in three states and throughout Canada, and this was by far the best. There’s no question we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Music Springs

We have been here a few times tent camping back in 2020 and we moved away from the area, now we are closer again and plan on spending more time here. We were here for a quick stay for our wedding anniversary and stayed in the Tipi. It was fantastic and the host set us up a snack tray with drinks for the occasion. You can't go wrong staying here in Music Springs.

Weekend Trip to Music Springs

This place is minimalist and exactly what we needed for a good value. Cute & cozy inside with good AC in the summer. The bathroom/showers are outside but easy to get to - just walk across a nicely tended grassy field. There's no sink inside, but there's a common "kitchen" area with microwave and big fridge/freezer. There is a grill & campfire, but I decided to use my own camp stove. We enjoyed the outside games like tetherball, frisbee, and a first attempt at disc golf. We enjoyed the prayer path trail as well. The host was responsive to questions & feedback.

Weekend Trip to The Fabulous Bok Vegas, Texas

The cabin is so cute! Much bigger on the inside than it looks. A great get away for friends and family. The dogs were super friendly and hung out with us while we looked at the stars!

Weekend Trip to Sojourn Lodge

Just what we needed for a weekend getaway in the woods. Love the area of east Texas and the acreage is awesome to explore on utv or walking. We explored quite a bit and walked the creek a long ways south with the pups. The falls were pretty and relaxing to sit and listen to. Susan and Mark were responsive and provided everything you could think of. I hope we come back one day! Beds were comfy too!

Where to go

North Shore

The small town of Chandler is the gateway to Lake Palestine’s north shore, where you can paddle or fish along the Neches River. There’s a small boat ramp at Chandler River Park, but for larger boats, you’ll need to head to Westberry Landing or Kickapoo. As for camping, you’ll find at least three RV parks close to the north shore, with full hookups available.

West Shore

Boat launches, marinas, and campgrounds pepper the lake’s west shore, where popular activities include kayaking, jet skiing, and water skiing. Take your pick of tent and RV campsites, some with direct access to the lake, or dine with a lake view at a shoreside restaurant.

South Shore

The scenic southern shore of Lake Palestine curls around Blackburn Bay, a popular spot for houseboaters and fishing. Camping options are limited around these parts, so rent a lakefront cabin instead or anchor your boat in a secluded cove.

East Shore
