Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table.
The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing.
Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups.
My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire.
The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath.
The Hippie Bus is new for the 2025 season and offers a trip back in time.

Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, wild turkeys, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that and multiple tent sites.The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season (August) then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding with camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. A nature trail, fresh produce usually. A tetherball!! Plus national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions by the campfire or on the front porch. On occasion, we have outdoor movies(when the sun goes down early) and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks or swing from the 60 foot swing in the old cottonwood and soak in that downhome country feeling while it “snows” in July. What an amazing stay at this oasis of a property just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Sioux falls! Brian is an incredible steward of the land, we felt welcome, safe, and all of our needs were well met! The hippy bus was such a gem, one of the more unique hip camps I've found across the us! The ready set camp tent was peaceful and clean and... Well, ready for us to camp in! Relaxing showers and sweet hiking trails, enjoyed playing with the kitties! Will go out of my way to come back here!

Brian took the time to greet each customer, show them their site as well as the property. He was very welcoming with a few surprises. We enjoyed the ease of renting a present up tent. After a long day if driving this was the perfect stop for us. Brian introduced us to his farm, dogs, cats, chickens, turkey, pheasants, and guineas. We had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed a fire, and saw a georgious sunset. He is a wonderful host. Thank you Brian for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

Ready, Set, Camp site was perfect! All we needed were our sleeping bags and we were good for the night. The tent was spacious and secluded. Brian was so kind and welcoming with s’mores bags and treats for our dog. This was our first Hipcamp experience and all our future stays will have a lot to live up to!

I stayed here just one night as I was passing through. I had a chance to see both the Ready, Set, Camp and the Hippie Bus. Both are nice. The host has taken great efforts to make this a comfortable place with central campstove, ultraclean restrooms and a clubhouse with games. Super friendly host who will guide you to your site then make sure everything is just right. Quiet, safe and pleasant camp. I would definitely come back.

We had a fantastic time camping in the Hippie Bus on Uncle B’s Produce Farm!! Our two toddler boys had a ball running around the property and Brian was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. The weather was not the best for camping but the bus gave us a perfect getaway from tent camping for a night and gave us all the rest and refuel we needed before continuing on our roadtrip!

Uncle B was very accommodating, waiting up for us to show us around the grounds even though we arrived late. He was a great host and we really enjoyed getting to talk to him upon arrival. The hippie bus was very cool and had a groovy theme that we all enjoyed. The land was beautiful, we saw pheasants and geese. Our dogs also enjoyed the trails and open space.

Weekend Trip to Downhome Country Farm
This was such a fun experience! When we pulled up, about 20 chickens circled our vehicle and were clucking happily, best welcoming committee ever! Camper was clean and had hot water. Bathrooms are communal so just make sure you don't mind walking outside at night to use it. Hosts were more than welcoming and its obvious they care about the property and their animals. They were knowledgable about the area and gave great reccomendations on food. 100% would stay there again.

We are on a long journey driving from Durham, NC to Kyle South Dakota. After a very long day of driving with a two year old we were welcomed by Carole and Steve to their beautiful farm. They share the beautiful place house with my granddaughter stocked with baby dolls and all. Totally made her day! Carole surprised me with a slice of homemade carrot cake and a cup of hot coffee to celebrate my birthday. The diner was very clean, cosy and comfortable. We had a good night sleep.. we loved Carole and Steve.. great hospitality!

Had a wonderful overnight stay on the hippie bus. We were welcomed to the campground in the warmest way, equipped with hippie gear (peace necklaces & rose colored lenses) s'mores kit and campfire wood. The campground had very nice bathroom/shower and kitchen areas. Highly recommend Uncle B's for a relaxing camping experience.
