This place enchants the heart, by simply surrendering to the magic landscape visuals and sounds all around and within this site. You hear nothing but purity on this marvelous site, from the sounds of 5 species of coqui frogs and so many native birds from local endemics to native resident birds and migratory passerines and birds of pray. I grew up in PR and explored the island thoroughly for nearly 30 years and I had never been on a place where I heard seven to eight pairs of PR screech owls joyfully chanting all at once from all around. A relatively short hike within the property takes you into another realm down by the river where isolation is bliss. A night hike through the property trees brought me so much wonder from hundreds of fireflies and the night orchestra from owls, coquies and so many insect sounds. It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful this place is. Andres gave us clear and concise directions on how to get there, via pre-recorded video, and that made it easy to get there. The drive itself was marvelous because for the most part you are high on the mountains.
We are avid campers and brought everything we needed but have to say that the outdoor kitchen/gazebo was pretty darn cool and convenient! There is a stove, kitchen sink, a “fogón” (cooking fire pit) as well as a full size refrigerator. This was more “Glamping” than “camping”. We camp every month on full moon as I love to watch the moonrise as well as the moonset and this place was particularly special for that.
As someone that grew up in Puerto Rico but lived most of my adult life outside the island, what I can tell you about the area is that the residents are extremely friendly, well manners and considerate that I am otherwise accustomed to. Everybody we saw whether driving on or driving out would wave at us, as if we were known to them.
I hope you try this place and when you do, I am confident you are definitely going to enjoy it.

Very peaceful place. I personally enjoy nature and the lake is stunning. Next time I can't forget my fishing gear! You see big fishes close to shore. At night they have solar lights that helps a lot. The running water is only in the bathrooms which are very well kept. A place to get ice and supplies is a 2 min drive. Highly recommend!

Its easy to drive to the property. Near by there is a gas station you can purchase ice and other supplies. They also have a food truck near the gas station.
There is a very peaceful and serene atmosphere. Bathrooms are clean. There is running water in the main gazebo that you can wash dishes.
I love the place. Is my second time here and I plan to come again.

What an awe-inspiring, beautiful and grounding experience in Utuado. Our stay at TJ Ranch was more than we hoped for and exceeded our expectations. Tina's warmth, hospitality and farm-to-table meals left us feeling taken care of in a way that moved us to extend our stay an additional night. The cabins were clean and well-kept. The land was a unique perspective of the mountains and the stargazing was phenomenal.
Our kids enjoyed the pool and especially the animals. Tina and her family took the time to show them their daily farm routine and maintenance.
Be prepared for a windy, uphill drive to get there, but it's totally worth it!
We would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique, off-the-beaten path place to unwind in Puerto Rico! We certainly look forward to returning in the future!

Finca Uateke is just beyond beautiful. It is remote and tucked in the mountains away from the main streets, perfect for nature lovers (especially birders!) and everyone who is adventurous and wishes to experience a more peaceful and quiet side to our Puerto Rico. The drive is not for the faint of heart haha but everyone visiting Orocovis should know that! ;)
Andres is an exceptional host, he is incredibly attentive and kind and made sure that I had a good time at the finca. He provided clear instructions and helpful videos on how to find the location and how to park there. The amenities were perfect and were kept very clean. You can tell that he loves Finca Uateke and genuinely wants to share it with his guests.
Overall, I absolutely recommend that you visit, whether you’re a native, local, or just visiting the Island for a few days. It’s well worth it! :)

This place is incredible. Don’t let the low price fool you, it is paradise with the perfect amenities. We had a 22 foot van that we were able to back up to the Mountain View. It is such an open and peaceful location. I felt very safe there. The bathroom was clean. The shower and washer/drier set up was excellent. The owners Andres and Gabriella were quick to respond and answer questions. They even included a video once you rent to tell you where to go! We will be back!

My husband and I, along with our 9-month-old baby, found the Mountain Retreat to be an excellent destination with stunning scenery, great facilities, and top-notch service. The breathtaking mountain views make it ideal for photography and relaxation. The facilities are clean, with well-maintained restroom, and spacious sites. The owner was super friendly, He responds quickly to bookings and questions. This is a perfect spot for camping, and we will definitely return!

Acampar en El Mirador fue una experiencia que excedió nuestras expectativas. Andrés fue muy asertivo con todas sus recomendaciones. La carretera estaba en excelentes condiciones y el pin nos dirigió perfectamente.
La localización de la propiedad es un sueño. Habíamos visto imágenes del lugar, pero la primera impresión nos dejó sin palabras. Adicional a la vista, absolutamente todo el lugar estaba impecablemente limpio. Las facilidades tenían disponible para cocinar al carbón y con hornillas de gas, un amplio fregadero y una nevera grande con congelador, lo cual nos brindó una comodidad adicional a la experiencia. Sobre el baño, además que la decoración es un sueño, cuenta con calentador de agua... todo lo que uno quiere luego de un día de aventuras y de experimentar el "friito" de las montañas de Orocovis. ¡Demás está decir que volveremos!
