My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. No a/c, tv, microwave, hot water. Capacity for 4 adults. By kayak you may visit, preferably at new moon night, one of the 20ths world's unique Bioluminiscent Bay. PR has 3 and one of those is just minutes away to experience! You'll get to the shack house by a dirty and bumpy road, 32 steps up stairs, must be in shape! Also you can anchor your boat almost in front of the property (there is no dock for boats there, but you may dock your dingy while visiting Parguera Village, advanced notification has to be made for arrangement.) Birds, lizzards, manatees, starfishes, stingrays, dolphins, brilliant stars night and breathtaking blue skies, don't say about our sunsets and sunrises! Amazing cays are another natural atractions, ask for Mata La Gata sea pool area. Water in front of the house isn't suitable for swimming if you are not related to waters surrounded by mangroves but you may visit Parguera sea sighting by your boat, by in site boat rental at Parguera, parasailing, diving and many other tours... By car there are plenty of different kind of beaches at nearby towns. There are safe trails to explore. You may search for Parguera, PR, to take a glance of what you are missing! Puerto Rico, as a whole is 100 x 35 square miles, is a tropical island with a variety of unimaginable places so get ready for adventure! Weekend Trip to Mountain Retreat

It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful this place is. Andres gave us clear and concise directions on how to get there, via pre-recorded video, and that made it easy to get there. The drive itself was marvelous because for the most part you are high on the mountains. We are avid campers and brought everything we needed but have to say that the outdoor kitchen/gazebo was pretty darn cool and convenient! There is a stove, kitchen sink, a “fogón” (cooking fire pit) as well as a full size refrigerator. This was more “Glamping” than “camping”. We camp every month on full moon as I love to watch the moonrise as well as the moonset and this place was particularly special for that. As someone that grew up in Puerto Rico but lived most of my adult life outside the island, what I can tell you about the area is that the residents are extremely friendly, well manners and considerate that I am otherwise accustomed to. Everybody we saw whether driving on or driving out would wave at us, as if we were known to them. I hope you try this place and when you do, I am confident you are definitely going to enjoy it.

Awesome secluded location! Yet you're not to far from good food and tons of adventure nearby. Robert and his wife were super nice and accommodating. If your schedule allows it opt for the breakfast on the balcony! During our stay we did stuff all over the island this place is fairly centrally located. Which was perfect for our trip.

What an awe-inspiring, beautiful and grounding experience in Utuado. Our stay at TJ Ranch was more than we hoped for and exceeded our expectations. Tina's warmth, hospitality and farm-to-table meals left us feeling taken care of in a way that moved us to extend our stay an additional night. The cabins were clean and well-kept. The land was a unique perspective of the mountains and the stargazing was phenomenal. Our kids enjoyed the pool and especially the animals. Tina and her family took the time to show them their daily farm routine and maintenance. Be prepared for a windy, uphill drive to get there, but it's totally worth it! We would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a unique, off-the-beaten path place to unwind in Puerto Rico! We certainly look forward to returning in the future!

Finca Uateke is just beyond beautiful. It is remote and tucked in the mountains away from the main streets, perfect for nature lovers (especially birders!) and everyone who is adventurous and wishes to experience a more peaceful and quiet side to our Puerto Rico. The drive is not for the faint of heart haha but everyone visiting Orocovis should know that! ;) Andres is an exceptional host, he is incredibly attentive and kind and made sure that I had a good time at the finca. He provided clear instructions and helpful videos on how to find the location and how to park there. The amenities were perfect and were kept very clean. You can tell that he loves Finca Uateke and genuinely wants to share it with his guests. Overall, I absolutely recommend that you visit, whether you’re a native, local, or just visiting the Island for a few days. It’s well worth it! :)

This place is incredible. Don’t let the low price fool you, it is paradise with the perfect amenities. We had a 22 foot van that we were able to back up to the Mountain View. It is such an open and peaceful location. I felt very safe there. The bathroom was clean. The shower and washer/drier set up was excellent. The owners Andres and Gabriella were quick to respond and answer questions. They even included a video once you rent to tell you where to go! We will be back!

Robert accommodated us perfectly. we had access to a full size tent that was under a lean-to, hose water, chairs and a propane stove. It was a fantastic stay in the foliage. We were comfortable and were able to stay dry and under shade if needed. Robert was very friendly and helpful and gave us information on places to explore. Great, great time for our group of 5. would definitely recommended and stay again. Ps. His wife's snacks are DELICIOUS and would recommend supporting her local business!!

We chose this campsite for our daughter’s 11th birthday. We had a great glamping experience with absolutely stunning views! It was truly a peaceful and scenic escape. The hike to the stream was beautiful but definitely challenging due to recent rain; the trail was muddy and SUPER slippery, so come prepared with proper footwear. The campsites are near a little drop off, so it’s best to only take big kids. The host was incredibly responsive, kind, and provided detailed information that made our stay smooth and stress-free. Overall, a memorable adventure that we will cherish forever!

My husband and I, along with our 9-month-old baby, found the Mountain Retreat to be an excellent destination with stunning scenery, great facilities, and top-notch service. The breathtaking mountain views make it ideal for photography and relaxation. The facilities are clean, with well-maintained restroom, and spacious sites. The owner was super friendly, He responds quickly to bookings and questions. This is a perfect spot for camping, and we will definitely return!
