Pocono Paradise

This property backs up to the Cranberry Bog one of the largest Bogs in the country. This property is perfect for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Your hosts live on property so we will always be available should the need arise. We are centrally located near all tourist attractions, restaurants, stores and hospital. We look forward to hosting our guests. We will have a picnic table available at your site, also water and electric can be made available as well. A centrally located fire ring is also on property with wood available. More pictures coming soon.

Greene Kitchen Farm

Greene Kitchen Farm has been farmed by the Greene family since 2013.  If you step back in time a few owners, the Kitchen family with 8 boys and a girl farmed the land that surrounds the little tributary to Montour Run.  The Greenes have been pasturing the majority of the land in nature's image with an eye toward biomimicry and an agro-forestal, savannah landscape.  The herbivores pulse through the landscape with flocks of birds following them.  
Since the livestock have been fenced out of the creek, a little jewel of a wildlife refuge traverses the farm from northwest to southeast.  This riparian zones shades the creek, protects the water quality, and provides great habitat for coyotes, minks, eagles, white-tailed deer, groundhogs, hawks, squirrels, woodcock, and a variety of songbirds.  Greene Kitchen Farm camp sites are situated on this varied section of brook.      Learn more about this land:Bring your tent or park your pop-up along the spring at Greene Kitchen Farm. Livestock will be fenced in just in view, and the birds will serve as your alarm clock. Your site will be the last stop on a mowed path through the hollow nestled between the spring and the woods.

Camp Blackbird

Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA.  So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites. 

The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people.

 So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. 

A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world.

We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here.  

We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake.

 There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite.

 Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling.  The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp.

In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.

The property is not suitable for parties or events.

The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.

The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.

VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

We, the hosts, live on the property about 700 ft from the campsite. We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

Campsite2 has its own campfire area, picnic table with unlimited water provided.

the fire pit is of a decent size, 6-8 feet in diameter, firewood is provided by Camp Blackbird. which is a major plus!

Unlimited water and everything you need to have campfires is included. 

Uncle Willie's

Once known as the Middaugh Farm , this property produced Corn, Buckwheat, Pigs, Chickens, and White Clay.  Forced to sell off a northern 70 acre Tract, which is now off the Tax Roles and held by the DOI,  and other non contiguous properties to help maintain the remaining 268 acres, The streams host turtles, crayfish and minnoes.  Deer , Rabbits, Squirrels, Foxes, Chipmunks, Coyotes (not the immigration kind, ) and the occasional Black Bear occupy the area. Named after my Father, who passed October 09 2017.  It is my goal to keep the property undeveloped, and ON the tax rolls through funding via access to members who enjoy the Dwindling Great Outdoors.  I hope to keep this in the family for a few more generations, while sharing the beauty and abundance of nature with others who have little opportunity to experience what I have, growing up in Rural America.

4 acres in rural suburbia

We are nestled on 4 acres with gentle borders to suburbs with neighboring homes. We are campers and consider this spot to be very fair after staying at some overpriced places. Our home is from 1880 and was the general store and post office for Hynemansville PA. It will need work long after we are gone. George Washington's troops slept across the street.Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent on almost 2 acres and have more privacy than in a crowded campground.  We are a mix of farms and new construction. 2 min to highway. Close to hiking,  biking, Appalacian Trail, lakes, streams, ponds. Soccer and baseball fields nearby.
