This property is a great place to enjoy nature. The Metropark has an easement through the canal. Bendview park is nearby. Undeveloped park acreage is near the access road to the east. Fly kites or drones in the grassy field. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are fun winter sports to indulge in. Birds find sanctuary here. See nature up close at this secluded getaway a 10 minute walk from South River Road. Enjoy fishing, bird watching, water sports, hiking, campfires and star gazing. Situated on the grassy bank of the Maumee with a natural boat launch. Adjacent to Metropark towpath between Waterville and Grand Rapids. Your fee includes propane and propane lantern, firewood and gas for the generator, plus use of boat, life vests and oars. Property has a fire ring, picnic table, grill and charcoal, sanitary outhouse and ample parking. Cabin has a microwave, Keurig, wood stove, futon, loft with full size bed, 5-gallon thermos of water, and electricity from a generator. No running water or kitchen. We provide twin sheets and pillow for the futon. We also make the full psize bed in the loft.

I had the best weekend at Chucks cabin, it felt very private and safe, while being close enough to stores/small towns to run out and get stuff. My dog had a lovely and safe time being my best bud, which was very important as she is generally shy and needed an uninterrupted place to do her thing.
The river is awesome for fishing, and the kayaks and rowboat made it even better. I loved the cabin, it was a perfect spot to disconnect and enjoy some peace and quiet. We had a pretty bad storm come through during the stay, and felt safe the whole time too. All in all, highly recommend and I would camp here again any time! 10/10

Cowboy town is a one-of-a-kind treasure. We stayed in the very clean Bear cabin. The adorable shared bathroom was a short walk from the cabin. Very friendly host and property cats. Would like to stay again.

I had a fantastic stay at Uncle Chucks Cabin. Relaxing and breathtaking river view along with every amenity you might need; extra firewood, lighter fluid, kayaks (2), boat, life-vests for adults and children, flashlights, bug spray, charcoal grill, chairs etc.! Chuck and his wife were so kind, helpful and welcoming. We will be coming back! Perfect size for a couple and a pet.

the host greeted me on arrival gave me a tour and explained everything available to use. the host was always asking if i needed anything. they are onsite working they keep there distance to give you your privacy. the cabin was great clean quiet and a great view. very nice covered porch over looking horses. the cowboy town was a neat thing to walk around. alot of trails to explore on site. the stream was a great place to cool off. this is a great place to stay and relax. a great location to unplugged and relax.

Weekend Trip to Uncle Chuck's Cabin
We had such a wonderful stay! It was me, my boyfriend, and our two dogs. When we arrived, Chuck gave us a tour of the cabin and explained everything we needed to know.
This was actually my very first time camping, except for once when I was a kid and went with a friend. My boyfriend has always loved camping and has been trying to get me to go, but I've never really considered myself the "camping type." This cabin was the perfect way to ease me into it!
The cabin was stocked with just about everything you could think of—flashlights, paper plates and utensils, wipes, hand sanitizer, bug spray, and so much more. Chuck even had a generator available that powered lights, fans, and the microwave,
The location is absolutely beautiful, sitting right along the river. I even went kayaking for the first time. There are two kayaks available on site, along with a small rowboat. We didn't get a chance to use the rowboat this trip, but my boyfriend is already planning to come back so he can take it out fishing.
If you're looking for a peaceful place to unplug, relax, and unwind, this is it. Thank you, Chuck!

This is our 2nd time visiting, and we loved it of course. The boat was so nice to take out on the river and fish. We caught a decent size catfish! The kayaks were nice as well. We had everything we could have needed that we forgot lol Truly such great hosts and cabin! Can't wait for our next trip 😀

Cowboy Town is a unique experience full of charm! The cabins are awesome, the theme decor in the whole place is amazing. The beds are cozy, the outdoor shower was cool, and you cant beat a flush toilet when it comes to camping! Unfortunately we had some strong storms and alot of rain during our stay. Id love to come back and get into the trails and spend more time around the fire. Holly is a great host and has a one of a kind place.

This was our first HipCamp experience, first vacation in years and first time camping with our dogs. Chuck was so kind and helpful and his property is absolutely beautiful. The loft bed stayed cool even though it was warm in the sun, the access to the river was incredible and it was so private and quiet. It was exactly what we needed, I hope we can make it back soon. Also more small amenities were provided than I expected, making it a truly easy camping experience.

We stayed in a cabin while at “Cowboy town.” It was great and the coolest campsite I’ve ever seen!
There are 3-4 cabins to stay in, along with places to tent camp.
The bathroom, full kitchen, and shower are all meant to be shared. Holly provided towels, TP, hand soap, pots pans, ETC!
There are 4 horses to pet and hangout with. My girlfriend couldn’t get enough of the horses. It’s a very secluded area. No city lights, no sirens.
We fished the pond and caught plenty of bass.
Holly mentioned they have hosted weddings, birthdays, and other get togethers. So, whether it’s 2 of you, or a group, this is likely the perfect “Glamping” site for you.
I would return in a heartbeat, and even stay in a tent if necessary!
