3 nights at Grins & Pickin's CampFarm

Christy’s land was perfect four our family with two young kids for a fun Fourth of July weekend. We had privacy right by the creek and set up hammocks in the woods. She had activities set up with prizes that my kids went crazy over. We enjoyed fishing and thought the bullfrog pond was so cool. We were checking off Ohio animals and creatures and we saw so many right on her land and is a pollinators dream! Her land is close enough to Alum Creek if you want a water day which we did and fully enjoyed! Forever grateful for Christy’s hospitality!

Weekend Trip to The McIntosh Pines

I didn’t know what to expect as this was our first time using Hipcamp, but we were not disappointed! The site is super private, on a ledge overlooking the creek (which was very shallow and still during our stay). On wetter weeks the site may be a tricky to get to, but we didn’t have any issues in our normal 2WD SUV. We wanted a weekend with little to no human interaction and that’s what we got : ) Would definitely come back.

Great cabins. I would suggest renting both and maybe the Kermit’s bottom campground outside for a memorable large gathering. Sweet location. Never found the shower though. I’m sure it’s there somewhere within the trees, but it was invisible to us.

Beautiful camp ground. There’s a pond you can fish in and there’s a 4 person kayak that is a ton of fun. The two small cabins we stayed in were perfect. The experience was well worth it. I’d recommend getting thee two cabins along with the meadow at the bottom of the hill (Kermit’s bottom) for large get-togethers. The only negative thing was that we couldn’t find the shower and didn’t have anybody that we could ask where it was. Great time if you’re looking for a secluded camping stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Oxley! The A-frame and outhouse was as clean as a whistle, and the view from the deck was absolutely beautiful! There was quite a bit of noise coming from another campsite, and lots of ATV noise going up and down the road into the evening, but it was no fault of the host and it did quiet down after a while. The hosts are very responsive and we were grateful that they allowed us to stay on their farm. 100% will stay again!

Christy’s place was gorgeous! She has walking paths through groves of trees and through the meadow. There were so many fireflies - the woods looked like they were twinkling all night. We've stayed at James's campsite 3 times now and it was a great place to tent camp everytime! It is a peaceful, fun spot to stay! The bathrooms are convient and clean.

This was a cool spot! We stayed at the first site. There wasn’t anyone else there. Felt safe. There was some construction in the morning but it didn’t really bother us. The showers are open so you can’t shower unless you have a bathing suit or want to just rinse your feet or something. It was nice flat land. The pond was pretty but didn’t go in or near it really. Nice to have a place to throw garbage. Running water to wash dishes was nice. We didn’t drink the water but the construction workers were.

Directions to reach are clear and site description is accurate. The treehouse feels right out of a fantasy book. There’s so much to explore both inside and outside. It looks lovely lit up in the night and you wake up the sounds of nature and farm animals.

Very nice private farm camping. Primitive, no water or electric hook ups. Roads around the farm are narrow, rutted, with low hanging branches. That being said, it is a beautiful farm, well kept, very friendly amicable hosts. I enjoyed the privacy, beautiful landscape, and playing in the lake with my dogs. I would definitely recommend this camping site and I am planning on going back in August.

We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). McKee Farm is rich in memories and rich in history. It has been in the family for over 150 years and we were told that it was one of stopping points for the underground railroad. The 240 acre farm boasts a hidden cave, wide open fields, breathtaking forest land, and historic and rustic barns. Nestled at the edge of a wooded creek, Tullihas in the Trees treehouse boasts a beautiful sunset view with rolling hills. Tullihas combines comfort with the thrill of being immersed in nature. Built using recycled electric poles, Tullihas in the Trees has a deck perfect for hammocking, an interior dressed with windows so that guests can feel as if they are living amongst the trees, and two small lofts ideal for a restful night's sleep. Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. Nestled in the woods with a view of the sunset, the lovely A Frame is filled with lovely woodwork, vintage parquet flooring, and private wooded views. The deck is huge! We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy. The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time. Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table. Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. Tullihas in the Trees provides a perfect remote and rustic getaway for anyone. In October and November, access to hiking is limited.
