Quite undisturbed forest for 1/2 a century, used for duck hunting in the previous owners family for decades. I’ve started building a small cabin that’s unfinished hopefully completing in the coming years. Fishing pond and small seasonal creek flows after lots of rain. Excited to share it with others! Kings Mountain RV Resort has officially opened its gates, welcoming campers from across the United States and beyond. The resort is conveniently located at 241 Battleground Road, Grover, NC, just ¼ mile from I-85 at Exit 2 (Highway 216 South).
The resort is currently in Phase One, a soft opening that offers guests a preview of what is to come. This phase features ten cozy rental cabins and exceptionally large, full-hookup RV sites equipped with 50-amp electric service, water, sewer, and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property. During this phase, guests can enjoy reduced pricing while select amenities are still under construction.
Now open is the resort’s beautiful new Clubhouse, which includes a welcoming reception area, coffee bar, single-serve wine and beer bar, and a well-stocked store offering RV and camping supplies, snacks, beverages, and souvenirs. Additional clubhouse features include restrooms, a laundry facility, area attraction information, customer service, a comfortable common lounge with a 70-inch television, a community bulletin board, and more.
Current amenities include a basketball court, pickleball court, dog park, cornhole, playground and more. In the coming months, guests will also enjoy exciting new additions such as live entertainment, outdoor movies, a zero-entry swimming pool with wet deck and water features, gazebos, landscaped foliage, horseshoes, and expanded sports options including tournaments.
Once construction is fully completed, the resort’s Activities and Entertainment Coordinator will lead a variety of structured activities for all ages throughout the year. Planned events include trivia nights, game nights, scavenger hunts, talent shows, barbecues, children’s activities and crafts, ice cream socials, sporting tournaments, chili cook-offs, holiday-themed events, Walking Club, S’mores Saturday, Campfire Storytime, RV How-To classes, and more.

The property was really a great location for our group that were overall new to camping with amenities nearby to pickup groceries or go to a diner when needed! We really enjoyed taking turns on the row boat, and playing card games and monopoly in the cabin area at night. The campsite felt really private, but there was some barking from dogs nearby at night, and sometimes gunshots.
Alex, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in finding local activities and resolving any issues we had during the stay!

Absolutely loved it. Perfect place to get away. Awesome creepy “Cabin in the Woods” vibes. When the sun went down the night came alive. We watched Evil Dead 2 in the cabin. This was an amazing trip. I will be booking this exact spot again. Love it!!!

We loved it! Amazing spot for our dog to roam, lovely but short trail around the lake, a little row boat we didn't use but would have been a fun little adventure - we set our tent up inside because the windows are wide open so just to keep bugs off us though we didn't notice many the night we were there - great experience especially for the price!
We were tenting and it was calling for a thunderstorm and we couldn't have asked for a better spot to watch watch the rain come down and listen to it on the tin roof!

We had a lovely time! It was nice walking the trail around the pond. We were able to put our tent up in the cabin which was a fun new twist on things. And we really appreciated having firewood supplied for us to use. The bathroom was surprisingly nice! As well as the solar powered lights and having hand sanitizer set out near the food prepping area. Our dog really enjoyed the land and water!

Weekend Trip to Private Oasis In The Forest
I decided to take a solo trip with my dogs on a whim and found Alex’s place. I am lucky I did. My 1 1/2 year old dog learned how to swim and my 10 year old lady dog even joined her for a few laps. The younger one swam behind me in the boat most of the time and when she was done, they chased each other around the pond. They must’ve done 20 laps!
There was a whole pile of firewood available so I lit a campfire to work on cooking dinner. I enjoyed trying to use the old cook stove in the outdoor kitchen area although that’s a thing that needs practice. I ended up finishing cooking it over the campfire. A swell rustic cooking experience.
A tremendous thunderstorm woke me up around 11pm so naturally I went and watched it on the front porch. When most of the thundering was done I got to fall back asleep to the rain on the tin roof. I’m a fan of storms.
In the morning I caught 3 bluegill rather quickly who each gave me 3 wishes for returning them to the pond. I haven’t caught bluegill since I was a little child with my step dad so it was nice to experience that memory.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to have a little get away. Alex is probably the most responsive host I’ve experienced on hipcamp. His messages also have a welcoming warmth to them. I hope to visit again in the future and maybe I’ll even let my husband come too. Thanks Alex!!!!

Thank you Alex for having this wonderful campsite and helping families grow and connect . My kids are 3, 6 and 7 they are already asking to go back ! This being our first real camping trip I was worried if they wouldn’t enjoy it but they did .. YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE WITH EVERYTHING THIS PLACE OFFERS!!! Boat , hiking , little swimming creek my kids loved , campfire and the pond that the campsite was on so we had different options too . The hut was nice we set up our table on it and had breakfast looking at the pond .. we slept in our tent but used the hut area more for storage . Firewood through out . Even though it rained you can still find some dry pieces and use that for a fire !! Getting your own fire wood with kids will make it just a more fun experience.. get off the phones , tvs , games and get some real family time here .. we can’t wait to go back!! I can’t recommend this place enough and Alex is a great host and fast to respond he takes pride in his campsite so make memories while respecting the are !!!
