Beautiful home and wonderful hosts that are very welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone stopping in the area. Huge thank you to Ernesto for jumping our car when we needed! Michaela is incredibly sweet, and her and her husband made our brief stay very enjoyable.

Weekend Trip to Elk Ridge Ranch

We enjoyed every bit of our short stay at the ranch! Our hosts were so welcoming and the animals on property were a highlight for our son. We would definitely recommend this lovely spot for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing time!

Outstanding views of a beautiful world! We missed sunset but woke up for sunrise and were not disappointed. The walk to the outhouse is well lit and the place has great energy. A bumpy ride up to the Mesa is rewarded with peaceful sanctuary!

2 nights at Elk Ridge Ranch

We were on our way home from the Grand Canyon and needed a place to take a day to rest before making the long drive to Houston. Dale and Susan were an absolute delight and wonderful hosts for our family of five. Our kids loved feeding the elk, playing with the dogs, and swimming in the pond. The area nearby is beautiful and we left feeling refreshed and ready to head home.

2 nights at Sunny Mellow Eco Villa

Wow just wow! This location is exquisite from the moment you drive in! All the details were nicely done. Definitely an upgraded first class glamping! Inside the yurt is luxurious and just the place we needed to relax after our long drive. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for making a nice little breakfast before heading out for the day and also convenient for whipping together a little evening charcuterie to accompany your night cap. The property is beautiful to explore our favorite part was the enormous swing set! Of course coming in at a close second was the star chamber for a night gaze before hoping into the king size bed! Lots of fun things to check out around Tijeras as well! We visited the Sandia Crest and the Tijeras Pueblo, had lunch in Albuquerque at the Church St Cafe, tried a local brew at Rumors and grabbed breakfast before heading out at Roots Farm Cafe. Would recommend all these places!

This camp is just TOO COOL! We drove right to the camp, with no directional issue(s). I would say a daylight arrival made it simpler. The table at the camp needs repair/replacement. The cemetery completes the gifts this camp offers.

Weekend Trip to Sunny Mellow Eco Villa

The location and set up is great. We slept so peacefully in the Chi Treehouse and the outdoor shower was perfect!

Great location for an overnight traveling I-40. Very quiet. We have a 23 ft class C and if you park facing the hookups no leveling required. We don’t have a horse but the facilities for them seemed excellent.

I loved staying here. Access was easy, nice circle drive. Everything was well labeled. My mare enjoyed stretching her legs in the big pen and it was nice having full hookups!

4 nights at Manzano Mountain Retreat

This was a wonderful camp spot for a reprieve on our trip across North America. The hosts were incredibly helpful and generous, showing us to our spot and sharing a meal with us when we first arrived and were tired and hungry. The ranch is lovely with lots of animals and apple orchards, as well as a pond and a few trails to explore. Closest town with grocery is about 25 minutes, and be wary gps may take you down dirt roads so turn off that feature if you don’t have the vehicle for that. Also, don’t forget to grab some apple cider for the road it is delicious, hands down the best Ive ever had!

3 nights at Sunny Mellow Eco Villa

Holy smokes, what a magical place! Greg was super welcoming and gave a tour of the land, hipcamp sites, and longer term rentals on the property all connected by a labryinth of lighted paths and quirky, creative surprises everywhere. The Chihouse is like the tree fort you always wanted as a child, but has everything you need to be comfortable including a really great outdoor kitchen and shower (great water pressure and heat!). The location is awesome as you can cruise right up the The Turquoise trail to Madrid and Cerrilos (funky bohemian little towns), but also close to great hiking around the Sandia mountains and a short drive to Albuquerque. Totally recommend!

1 night at Sunny Mellow Eco Villa

An incredible experience I had staying here— the feeling of calm and carefully cultivated natural peace is unmatched. There are so many wonderful places to sit and enjoy the trees and the birds, or to enjoy a delicious coffee, or to have a giggly conversation with a friend or partner. The hosts of this land are phenomenal human beings, complete with wonderful stories and kind words and dazzling smiles. I will absolutely be bringing the people I love most back to this spot with me, so that they too can experience the magic. Already counting down the days until I am able to return—hopefully in the summer, when the fruit trees have blossomed. :)

3 nights at Elk Ridge Ranch

We spent several nights at the Elk Ranch using it as a base camp of sorts while we spent time visiting family and exploring the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas. The site was easy to find, convenient, and offers a perfectly peaceful and beautiful view. Communications with Susan prior to our arrival were appreciated and helpful. Once there, Dale and Susan were fantastic hosts - we very much enjoyed and welcomed talking with them - it was as though we knew them forever. Their dogs are the sweetest, too with each stopping by from time to time for some attention. The Elk were a bonus for us. We learned a lot and were able to take home some meat and jerky. Getting to experience the elk up close was super cool since you don’t often find them roaming our home state. We would go back again and again as the hospitality won us over. Definitely a 10/10.

Camp With is an endeavor to connect more people with the distinct features the high desert landscape has to offer and ultimately foster growth with ones relationship to nature. Bring your own everything (tent, sleeping bag, pillow, towels ) and come camp! We used to have tents which are in most of the images and reviews. No longer offering tents as an option. We are doing several small permaculture projects sprinkled throughout the land. There is a chance you could run into us building or planting something on the far side of the 15-acre property, but we like to give our guests privacy, peace, and quiet (how we would want to be treated ☺️). The unpaved road to the campsite is 3 miles and filled with stones, hence our street name, Stoney Road. We highly recommend a vehicle with clearance as there are some rocks on the road that are "oil pan busters." There are no street lights on the dirt road; we recommend arriving at the site during the day. After rainfall and during the monsoon season (May-September), the road can be very muddy. We don’t want you getting stuck. Let’s be honest here: high clearance and or 4x4 on your vehicle is recommended. There is a communal composting outhouse as your bathroom during your stay. We have an open air seasonal hot outdoor shower. (mid June-mid October) The greywater from your bathing feeds the plants. No toxic soaps please! We remind you that this is a rural off-grid campsite: there is no electricity. There is no tent. We have created this space for you to connect with your loved ones and enjoy being outside. The closest restaurants are in Cerrillos and Madrid, 8 miles away. You are responsible for your safety, tent, food, towels, water, ice, and relaxation. Come enjoy the impeccable views, INSANELY spectacular stars, and a genuinely unique, curated, off-grid camping experience.
