The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 4 years in a row and ranked Top 5 by Forbes in the country.
We have 8 Sites to choose from. (No large RVs at 4, 7 or 8) Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Free potable water is available as well as a portable toilet.
For cooking, you will have a fire pit, with a cast iron grill. Every site (but 7) has a standing charcoal grill, with tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. We hang a hand washing jug at every site for your convenience, with potable water, but do not suggest this for drinking water source.
The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round and is officially the Coyote Creeks Headwaters. The springs converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time, 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 other outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch.
We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 9 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our 2 dogs and 4 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion.
We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others.
I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible.
We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can.
And as always, Veterans, LEOs, and Fire Fighters are always free for one night up to 4 guests. Just book your reservation, and show us your ID during your stay, and we will reimburse you for your last night with us.

Weekend Trip to Big Little Hideaway
Adorable peaceful respite just 15 minutes from Taos. Ideal for 2 people needing a home base to run, hike, and explore. Hosts very proactive and responsive with instructions and communication. Would definitely go back!

I don't know what I can say that I haven't already said in my other three reviews. This is my fourth time to the cliffs Camp 8 very private very secluded very quiet. Landon is great very hospitable. This is definitely a place of peace. I will always be back. All the campsites are very far from each other which is something that I like. It's just a nice piece of property. They have done well

Loved this tiny getaway home and how close it was to Taos attractions! The home itself is very nice and comfortable. We were 4 adults (including 2 seniors) and a child and it was perfect! Since there are several homes on the property, we will consider coming back next time with friends!

Beautiful and very accommodating campground! The peaceful setting, breathtaking night sky views, and well-maintained campsites made for a perfect weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the complimentary amenities: including water, charcoal grill, grilling utensils, and an over-the-fire grill. Each site even had its own individual well-maintained portable restroom instead of shared facilities. The amazing firepit added the perfect camping ambiance. The location, views, and thoughtful details made this stay truly memorable.

This is our idea of a perfect campsite! Beautiful setting and very quiet. It is quite secluded and yet town is only a short distance away if needed. Landon and Kendra were available to answer any questions that we had. The property has so much to see and do and great places to hike. We enjoyed ourselves so much and will definitely be back!

We loved staying at the Rainbow Connection in the Big Little Hideaway.
The tiny home was quite comfortable and filled with all the amenities we could need. We are already planning a return visit next year.

We have been camping for 7 years in our Airstream and have stayed in many gorgeous places. There is something so special about Enchanted Circle Campground. I only left one time in 3 days just to get groceries. It was so incredibly beautiful and peaceful. I hiked the trails with our dogs, sat out at night under the stars and overall just enjoyed nature. It is unlike anywhere else we have camped. This couple works so hard to make this place special and it shows. Every detail down to cooking utensils and a shovel for the fire. Not to leave out an incredibly comfortable hammock at each campsite. Don't miss a stay here. We will be back!

I LOVED staying in site 6!!! It was absolutely beautiful!!! It was awesome getting to fish in the trout ponds and seeing all the wildlife. The amenities were excellent. The bundles of firewood is a must to have a fire in the amazing fire pit. I will definitely be back and recommend to anyone. Kendra was very helpful and the camp hosts were an awesome couple who loved being there. Can’t wait to be back.

This was my second time camping on Landon and Kendra's property, and it was just as special and memorable as my first time. The surrounding area is gorgeous, and the fall colors were a real treat. They put so much thought and care into the campgrounds, and as a single woman camping with my dog, I felt safe. I look forward to returning in the future for another magical experience.
