DO NOT DRIVE THRU CAMPGROUND My ONE and ONLY Hipcamp site is locate right at the entrance of this small property. All campers must be 35 feet or less in length and given the small size of the campground it's easiest if you arrive before dark. The entrance is on a curve so make sure you enter from the left hand side of the road and don't be afraid to roll thru a little grass to make sure you have plenty of room. Make a hard hairpin turn to the right and your campsite is straight ahead and like everything here, a pull-thru site. (Please see HIPCAMP main photo) This is a long-term campground but I keep this one spot up front for our traveling friends to enjoy as you move across the country as options can be limited. Enjoy your stay and if you're ever unsure about anything just give me a ring. Please make sure to arrive before dark. Small campground and quiet community with minimal lighting can make for a challenging and sometimes disorienting arrival if not careful.

Maple Creek Recreation Area stands out as a unique destination due to its integral role in the original Maple Creek Watershed project, which enhances both the natural beauty and recreational opportunities in the region. Established in collaboration with local authorities, this area has become a cherished spot for outdoor enthusiasts. In 2000, the Village Board of Leigh took the initiative to request a reevaluation of the watershed structure by the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District (LENRD). Following favorable feasibility studies conducted by Olsson Associates, funding was successfully secured from various sources, including the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources Development Fund (NRDF), the Motorboat Access Fund through the Game & Parks Commission, and the Nebraska Department of Roads for improvements along Highway 91. Visitors to Maple Creek Recreation Area can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, and boating, all set against a backdrop of stunning natural features.
