This is a wild property bordered by public land. No electricity, no plumbing. Just an exceptional piece of land, with a cold rushing creek to beat the heat, meadows with butterflies and flowers, privacy, and great views of the valley and surrounding mountains. We have three cabins spread across the lot. Enjoy the smell of fresh milled wood and the sounds of the nearby creek. The cabins are spread far enough apart to offer privacy to each party, but know that you may still see other travelers on the land during your stay. NO DOGS! This is a working farm and we have dogs, sheep, goats as well as other animals. Adding yours into the mix of animals has proven to be more hassle than what it's worth. I've been at this for 16 years. Please ask questions before booking. Sneaking your dog(s) in doesn't work. We live on 40 acres of my husband's grandfather's original 160 acre homestead. We are the only ones still farming. They rest of the family have either sold off their land for big bucks or have built homes on it. We enjoy sharing our little piece of paradise in the Gallatin Valley.

Had a great trip to this cozy little cabin. The cabin was clean, plenty of firewood provided, and the Jackery + lights were a nice touch. Great location close to hiking and Chico Hot Springs. Would stay again!

Super cute cabin with everything I needed. The stream right by it also kept the area nice and cool despite an air temp of 90. The road leading to it had a number of big potholes that would be hard on smaller vehicles, but it also made sure that any traffic going through were going slow. Would absolutely stay here again!!!

Incredible secluded cabin in the middle of the mountains! The sound of the rushing water was the absolute best thing to fall asleep and wake up to. My dog loved playing in the water and it is extremely accessible. I was hoping to see some otters, but I did hear some noises at night when falling asleep! Some critters are definitely nearby, as to be expected given the location! Josh's instructions were great and I had no trouble finding the spot. The generator with lights was also extremely appreciated! Felt safe as a solo female traveler, especially knowing that there were other campers across the way at the other cabin.

Beautiful view of the mountains and a great little get away! The stream was wonderful to have access to and just to hear it in the background. Cabin was adorable and with close access to the Chico Hot Springs and their amenities. Definitely staying here again

We have stayed at all three of Josh’s cabins up historic Emigrant Gulch and it’s always been a good time. Nothing but beautiful trees, mountains and silence. The cabins are nice and always have plenty of firewood to keep you warm through the night (we have stayed up there twice now in the winter with temps below 20 degrees). The outdoor range is a plus and the compost toilets are sooo much better than a classic outhouse pit. Always a pleasure to stay in one of these cabins with this Looke’s Mill being the most spacious and family friendly. Josh and fam’s hospitality and quick communication is excellent.
