The Range Riders is a rustic Airbnb lodging option for people who don’t mind communal bathrooms, creaking floors, and thin walls. It is a beautiful building with a lot of history and charm that shows it's age. Range Rider Accommodations Located in the town of Silver Gate, just outside the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park, sits the historic Range Rider Lodge. Construction began on the Range Rider in 1937 after the magnificent Beartooth Highway was completed. Whole logs were brought in from the surrounding forests and oil paintings depicting beautiful mountain scenes were commissioned to line the banisters of the second floor. The Range Rider was originally constructed to be an “indoor playground” for all of the tourists coming over the Beartooth Highway. Since its opening, the Range Rider, originally called the Gorham Chalet, has seen many wild times and brought a lot of entertainment to a small mountain community. Ernest Hemingway even used to frequent the bar and write. The original logs still stand and the Range Rider still possesses all of the magic that it has had since the day it opened. Over the years not much has changed, just enough so that people can continue to enjoy the Range Rider as so many have been able to in the past. Welcome to our off-grid tiny Gnome Home.
The inside is 7.5 x 6.5 feet wide with 8.5 high ceiling.
The entrance door is 4 feet tall x 2 feet wide.
You must duck to enter and leave, so please use caution :)

A friend of mine and I stopped by on our way across country and John and Sheila’s Gome Home was absolutely a highlight! Their property is not only absolutely beautiful with lots of cute and friendly animals roaming around but also conveniently located next to Yellowstone National Park and the nearby town. Will be visiting again on our next time through the area.

2 nights at North Fork Cabin

Clean and very well stocked for a cabin. The sleeping bags and mattresses/cots on site were comfortable and clean. It’s remote, the stream is awesome to have nearby, the night sky is incredible with near zero light pollution, great fire pit, xl picnic table, lots of propane lanterns/burner/grill, I could go on for awhile. I didn’t get a chance to meet the folks who own it but they’re probably really great. Their cabin game is A+. I would note that this property is not for the total novice camper. You’d have to be atleast a decent driver to get a shitty little car or minivan down the path to the cabin but it’s no problem in an suv or truck. The cabin has everything you need to really have a great glamping base camp, your entrusted with a nice assortment of fire, propane accessories, fire pits, wood stoves, sharp stuff etc. Nothing here is stupid proof. Your don’t have running water, there’s no electricity and no fires if things get to dry. That being said it’s got plenty of water from the creek and various buckets, tubs, coolers and such along with a really cool old wash basin thing for your hands. There are a bunch of propane lanterns, mantles and fuel all stocked for light. Great options for cooking, grate over the fire pit, grill, and two large burners inside. We flew out and rented a car to explore the tri state area so we had very little with us. I would recommend a headlamp, some good food and maybe a few cold beers but you don’t need to worry about a whole lot else

3 nights at Yellowstone City Guest Ranch

Super cute cabin with everything I needed. The stream right by it also kept the area nice and cool despite an air temp of 90. The road leading to it had a number of big potholes that would be hard on smaller vehicles, but it also made sure that any traffic going through were going slow. Would absolutely stay here again!!!
