Remote subdivision on a 4500-foot ridge, 10 miles from Columbus exit 408, off of Interstate 90. Your camping spot is near the road for easy access, but the road is private and dead-ends just beyond my property, so traffic is very minimal.

The Beartooth Highway is nearby and takes you through the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains complete with glacial lakes and lush forests.
Catch up with friends and family back home with our convenient Post Office next door. The Sure Stop gas station/convenience store is right across the street to pick up some snacks and supplies or just for a quick re-fuel in your travels. And yes, they do have diesel.

Even though somewhat marred by some from northern fires, the views were still beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. Justin was great, very flexible when a problem with our rv caused us to be a day late. He was very helpful in getting us situated so our camper was level.

Great views, and great host! Justin worked with me when my trip had to be altered due to health and allowed me to flex my stay by a couple days. He’s a fantastic host and will make sure you’re settled and check to see if you need anything.
If you’re there in August, be mindful of the potential for wildfires in the mountains, Justin kept apologizing for the smoke covered mountains, but I absolutely loved it. The light was special as the sun set from the smoke, but I love moody sunsets. I love experiencing the outdoors in all its varying degrees.

Absolutely beautiful place to camp! Our host was so responsive and kind. Easy to follow directions, smooth arrival process. The views from our site were perfect. It’s definitely a quiet area so I wouldn’t recommend for loud groups. Voices definitely carry in the mountains so we encouraged our kiddo try to keep the noise down. Would love to stay here again!

We had a great 5-star stay at Justin’s Hipcamp! We arrived late and he stayed up to show us to our spot. He was super friendly and kind, gave us info about the surrounding area, and even helped us figure out how to get to our next destination. Really appreciated the hospitality! 10/10 we would come back and recommend him to our friends and family.

What an absolutely wonderful campsite we had! Justin met us when we got there and showed us where to go and then left us to get settled. Later, he came down to see if there was anything we needed and gave us a lot of good information about the area. We were there for three nights and he made sure he stopped by a couple times every day to check on us, couldn’t ask for a better host or a better location! The views are tremendous and the night sky was beautiful. Thank you again Justin and forever in your neck of the woods will certainly come back!

We were driving from Glacier National Park to Yellowstone via Beartooth Pass Highway when it became clear it was getting late and we wouldn’t make it to our planned dispersed campsite. As we exited I-90 into Columbus, we searched for nearby options and found Justin’s place on HipCamp, just 15–20 minutes away. Perfect!
After booking, Justin quickly sent us clear directions. His property sits on a ridge with beautiful distant mountain views. Although it was rainy and overcast during our stay, we could still see some of the scenery. Be sure to follow the directions Justin provides. Google Maps worked for us, but it’s best to confirm your route matches his.
The road includes a stretch of unpaved driving, but we had no issues in our Class C motorhome towing a Wrangler. Justin was responsive, friendly, and helpful throughout. If we’re ever back in the area, we’d absolutely stay again. Highly recommended!

Old West RV Park is a little gem! Even with renovations going on during our stay, the grounds were neat as a pin and the bathrooms were super clean. But the best part of staying here? The owners! Jeremy and Ivy are wonderfully kind, thoughtful people who go above and beyond in many senses of the word. Jeremy came over to greet us in person and make sure we had everything we needed…even though we arrived WAY later than normal office hours. Then, when my wife and I had a family emergency during our stay, they were super empathetic and accommodating, in spite of our constantly shifting plans. If you’re looking for a clean, safe, comfortable place to stay where you’re not just another number on a rear view mirror tag, this is it.
