The Appleton City Lake does not allow swimming. It does not allow boats with motors. However, you could bring a kayak if you wanted. We have a community fire pit and picnic tables too. The grill is electric with pellets. We provide firewood for the pit and pellets for the grill. Guest access We are a little over one mile down a level gravel road and just 3.5 miles total from the small town of Appleton City where we have a little restaurant, Caseys, a very nice little grocery store (closes 7 pm), coffee house (mon-sat 8 am-11 am), and Dollar General (closes 9 pm). I live nearby on the property and am available to greet you when you arrive. Other things to note Appleton City is a small town. If you are coming in late, you may want to stop on the way to pick up food. We have a few stores in town, but some folks are caught off guard to find out the stores close early. But Caseys has sandwiches and assorted quick items and is open until 11 pm.

2 nights at Misty Oak Getaways

I enjoyed my stay at Misty Oak Cabin. It was everything I needed and nothing I did not. I loved the seclusion. I don’t know what a holiday weekend is like, but I think I could count on one hand the number of cars and trucks I saw pass in front of the cabin. With that, I was about 10 minutes away from fishing at Bennett Springs. Everything in the cabin was neat and well kept. Check in and check out was seamless. Rachel always responded to messages within a few minutes. Next time I need seclusion, Misty Oak Cabin is definitely on my list.

2 nights at Arrowhead Point

Kind and helpful staff with a beautiful little spread south of Clinton and north of Springfield. Accommodations of the Cowboy Cabin were solid with only a few small suggestions. Having a microwave with the kitchenette is great but I'd recommend finding a way to get a 2-burner propane stove so guests can cook (I brought my own). The 2nd thing would be that the window A/C was trying it's best, it really had trouble keeping the cabin cool during the warmest time of the day, once the installed wall unit is up and operational though I'm sure it'll be fine. Last and equally important, the wifi. I'm sure it's difficult to get anything faster but 5 up and 5 down is just not enough to keep up with the modern internet these days. The 5G signal I got on my phone was actually faster.

I enjoyed my stay at B&S Creekside Retreat When I went on the tour of the campground I was blown away , the trail lead me back and reminded me of a forest and then your Secluded. , you can see all the hard work thay have put in to this campground and a lot of thought went in to the design . The camp sites are spaced far apart For privacy. With picnic tables and fire pits I was greeted with a warm welcome and hospitality that's better than a 4 star hotel It's not to far from town or Harrisonville I highly recommend B&S CREEKSIDE RETREAT

This was a great spot! Such a cute cottage that's very well decorated and kept clean by the owners :) the hot tub was GREAT! We went when it was cooler so it was so nice to have. Easy access to the water if you want to go kayaking and a lovely conservation park with hiking and river access! All and all, a very lovely area if you just want to get away from things and relax, this cottage makes it so easy to do so
