This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

A literal 30 acre pocket of paradise tucked away just minutes North of Columbia, MO. Here you’ll find a private lake with fishing access, rolling hills with stunning sunrises and sunsets, plenty of space to reset with nature, perfect for a glamping getaway. We have 3 separate sites on the property. Our 24’ yurt that sleeps up to 6 with indoor toilet (no shower) propane fireplace for chilly fall and winter stays and AC for the Missouri heat; a cozy RV that sleeps 4 (queen bed and bunks in the back) offers all the amenities of home with a kitchen and bathroom (with hot water and shower); and last we have a level gravel site with 30amp electric and water hook ups (no dump capability) with picnic table, fire pit and grill available for those that want to bring their own RV. We absolutely loved this place. Completely private, beautiful views. The new gazebo with the picnic table and grill is a fantastic addition. Loved being in the middle of nature and just getting away from the every day hustle. The house was great. Has everything you could need. We will definitely be return visitors. Lots of wildlife to be seen and the beautiful pond just a stones throw away from the house is beautiful to look at while sitting outside. Really can’t say enough great things about the place. The owners were very attentive to anything we had questions about. 10 out of 10! You won’t be disappointed.

Loved Bill’s little cabin, the hike and cats most especially. He was so accommodating and flexible when we came in later, he allowed a late check-in. He was responsive when we had questions. The only thing to note is the toilet is in the room and so if you need full privacy, either be comfortable with who you’re with or they’ll have to step out. The compost toilet took some research to understand how to use, and I am still not sure I used it totally correctly. Either way, we plan to go back again someday!

Absolutely must see! The yurt is beautiful and cozy and everything has its own little place that makes you feel right at home. The land is beautiful and the trail down to the creek allowed for some great scenery and view of the wildlife. We will definitely come again outside of the winter months to enjoy the yurt magic.
