This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

A literal 30 acre pocket of paradise tucked away just minutes North of Columbia, MO. Here you’ll find a private lake with fishing access, rolling hills with stunning sunrises and sunsets, plenty of space to reset with nature, perfect for a glamping getaway. We have 3 separate sites on the property. Our 24’ yurt that sleeps up to 6 with indoor toilet (no shower) propane fireplace for chilly fall and winter stays and AC for the Missouri heat; a cozy RV that sleeps 4 (queen bed and bunks in the back) offers all the amenities of home with a kitchen and bathroom (with hot water and shower); and last we have a level gravel site with 30amp electric and water hook ups (no dump capability) with picnic table, fire pit and grill available for those that want to bring their own RV. We are Pet friendly (with additional cost for the yurt) as we have our own over friendly farm dog. Come play yard games, swing, fish, bring your kayak or paddle board, kids can play or swim on our sandy beach, or just walk our 1 mile perimeter trail, a perfect place to rest, rejuvenate and recharge. Farm fresh eggs are available as well as any extra firewood. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our little pocket of paradise.

There are no steps at the cabin or treehouses and are wheel-chair assessible.

Weekend Trip to Majestic Oaks Unique Getaway in the Ozarks
Leon and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts! I had no issues getting to their property and they were so nice and accommodating! They had everything you could need there, realistically I could have just packed food and clothes and nothing else and would have been fine! I had a beautiful and relaxing weekend, and I was solo traveling and they made me feel very safe and welcomed! The only thing I could "complain" about is a little road noise, which is completely fine and obviously not their fault whatsoever and out of their control! They were awesome and I will be coming back!

3 nights at Secluded Wooded Cabin - Lakeside
The Lakeside Cabin at Whispering Pines was the perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary. The well designed cabin was comfortable, with nature’s theatre entertaining us through the wall of windows. Waking up with daylight, birds, squirrels, and rabbits really make morning coffee so much better! Morning bonfire and evening hike help to reconnect with a peaceful mind. We brought our own food, found everything we needed stocked by Luke and Wendy, and stayed there the long weekend wanting for nothing. We highly recommend this special getaway!

Instructions were easy to follow, everything was clean, the site was set up exactly as described. Overall this was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. We will definitely consider booking again!

The yurt is a gem. So whimsical and peaceful with all the comforts of home. Bill's land is beautiful and absolutely alive with the sounds of nature. There are walking trails on the property, a beautiful pond. I wanted for nothing the whole time I was here.. I enjoyed a fire on the deck, meals were easy to prepare and the kitchen was well stocked. I forgot a few personal items and they were readily available which I had not expected. The yurt is perfectly decorated and everywhere you look there is something new to see and enjoy. I am for you to visit the guest books there are some scandalous entries as well as some really heartwarming ones. I will undoubtedly be back and I think I will probably make Bill's yurt a regular refuge.
Secluded enough to feel like the world doesn't exist but just minutes away from anything you need. I even had Indian food doordashed here with no problem..
Bill is a wonderful host he will make sure you feel comfortable and have everything you need.
Do yourself a favor and stay here. I can't wait to come back.

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful yurt campsite for a couple of nights. The yurt was perfectly cozy and picturesque. Even though it stormed heavily the first night, we stayed dry and cozy and the rain pitter pattering on the yurt was incredibly relaxing. We loved the campsite set up and would love to return whenever we’re back in the area!

My fiancé and I wanted a little getaway from the city and The Pocket was the perfect choice! We brought our little chihuahua mix with us as well and there was plenty of space for the three of us in the RV-we really enjoyed sitting outside in the evening, it was so relaxing! The property is lovely and we had no issue finding it via Google Maps-all in all we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend booking it if you need an escape to the countryside!

The Pocket is s must-see-and-stay if you want peace, beauty, warmth and comfort. We stayed in the RV with 2 teens and everyone was very comfortable and had plenty of room. The land is truly beautiful. I loved just listening to the breeze and the birds. Fishing was fun. The town of Columbia is clean and has stuff to do. (We played minigolf!) Amanda was a very thoughtful, friendly and attentive host. Even our dog was more peaceful! It was just what our family needed.
