Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. Loved Bill’s little cabin, the hike and cats most especially. He was so accommodating and flexible when we came in later, he allowed a late check-in. He was responsive when we had questions. The only thing to note is the toilet is in the room and so if you need full privacy, either be comfortable with who you’re with or they’ll have to step out. The compost toilet took some research to understand how to use, and I am still not sure I used it totally correctly. Either way, we plan to go back again someday!

Absolutely must see! The yurt is beautiful and cozy and everything has its own little place that makes you feel right at home. The land is beautiful and the trail down to the creek allowed for some great scenery and view of the wildlife. We will definitely come again outside of the winter months to enjoy the yurt magic.

We just came back from our second trip to Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors, and once again it felt absolutely magical. ✨
As a single mama of four, camping can sometimes feel overwhelming, but renting the yurt made it so much easier — and honestly, it turned into something even more special. The land itself is breathtaking, and the experience of being surrounded by animals roaming freely, sweet and friendly, made it unforgettable for my kids. They were in heaven, completely obsessed with every animal they met.
Making magical core memories with my children is my number one goal as a mama, and this place does that and so much more. It wasn’t just a getaway — it was a memory-making trip that gave us those moments I know my children will carry in their hearts forever.

Hummingbird Hollow was exactly what we needed this past weekend. The yurt, Lady Asha, was beyond expectations and had everything we needed. The animals (especially the horses and donkeys), the creek, the foliage, was all the nature healing we could ask for. We can't wait to go back!

This yurt was absolutely spectacular - my jaw actually dropped as soon as I opened the door. This was our checkpoint on our way home to Ohio from Colorado, 16hrs in the car from CO to MO, and this little place was exactly what we needed. We were elated to find AC, full working kitchen and shower, the most comfortable bed of our entire trip, and gorgeously whimsical deco fitted with tea candles and fairy lights for the perfect ambience. Their kitchen was fitted with all of the utensils and equipment one would need, including a microwave, electric stovetop, and a pantry stocked with seasonings, among many other kitchen amenities. The food we picked up on our way into town had gotten cold by the time we got in, so we were so relieved that we could use the kitchen to heat it all back up! Even the outhouse was stellar, with running water for washing and compost toilet. All in all, the only thing I would have changed about our stay is that I wish we could have stayed longer!
