My husband and I loved the Bunkhouse on sight! It was a great little place to escape from our long road trip and the relentless rain storms we'd driven through all day. Bill was very helpful and we passed a nice quiet night there. We'll be staying there again!

There are 3 blind horses in the pasture where the camp sites are. They are very sweet but can blunder into your tent or car in the middle of the night. I worried that they might hurt themselves or fall into my tent.

Bill was a very good host, the bed was really comfy, it was a cute, quiet, and peaceful little property. I would 100% come here again.

We absolutely loved staying at Bill’s yurt. It was super cozy and had everything we needed for the weekend. My son and I put together a puzzle one evening (provided by the host), my husband and I sat by a fire and played cards (cards and wood provided by the host), and then we took a walk down the trail to a nice little creek where we found a fire pit, chairs and a hammock! Each evening we were visited by the sweetest kitty. The host, Bill, was very nice and my husband enjoyed chatting with him every time he went to get more wood. We will definitely be planning another stay at this location!

We had a great time at the moonrise cabin. Perfect anniversary weekend for my wife and I. The property is beautiful. We did some fishing and bird watching. We will definitely be back again.

Gorgeous area of Missouri and a lovely farm that John and his family take care of. The flowers around the cabin were in bloom and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding trails and towns.

We loved being out there. It was very relaxing and just the get a way we needed.

5 nights at Little Cabin On The Farm

Our goal was to unplug and spend time as a family for spring break and this was the perfect place for that. We loved our stay at this cabin! The homestead provided great scenery, there were plenty of roads to walk and view the farms and Missouri River. The cabin was clean with bedding and towels provided. There was plenty of cookware and utensils. A single propane burner was available inside and there was a gas grill and fire pit outside. We enjoyed grilling and making s’mores and listening to all the beautiful birds and frogs. The rain on the metal roof was also very peaceful (to us anyway!). Great hosts that were helpful and provided insights into the local area and their homestead. Really lovely people!

Weekend Trip to Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors

absolutely loved staying in the Lady Asha yurt! The yurt itself was so cozy with everything you need bedding and dishes wise. that and the shower house were up on a hill a distance away from the farm animals and other camp sites which provided some nice privacy! Susan’s land was beautiful and the animals were friendly and so cute. My favorite part was exploring the creek- beautiful sights and sounds and crystal clear, cool water!! Had a great weekend here

We made it to Sarah‘s farm and it was great. However, we did not stay there because we were worried about flooding as there were flood warnings in the area. Sarah responded promptly to any communications that I’ve had.

4 nights at MoonRise Cabin-Farm w/ Trails

I stayed here while working construction in a nearby city. Wow is all I can say . Such and amazing place . If you are an outdoors kind of person than this place is for you . The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. I found it completely ready for me all I needed was food and clothes everything else was provided ( coffee.. french press, plates,towels, bedding) the works. it was so clean. I myself don't mind the outside kitchen potty and shower . I spent my evenings fishing in the pond witch is full of bass., and listening to the wild life (turkeys and owls.). I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others!!! Ps it also buts up to 700+ acres of conservation land. Super peaceful!!!!

Weekend Trip to Retreat to the Country

The yurt was cozy and comfy! As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and secure, too! The view was beautiful, even before the trees filled in with leaves and the little trail down to the creek was very cute! My young kiddos would have absolutely adored playing in the creek! Lots of fun little touches that showed that it’s a place filled with care and love.

It was very comfortable! The beds were perfect to make it an easy camping trip if your just wanting to get away, there was even heat and A/C in the bunk house when we arrived there was even a note that said “welcome Quinn and family” with little candies bill is very thoughtful, and let us have a fire in his yard! He was great host! I would recommend this place! He also has a cabin, and also a yert. If you prefer more of privacy the yert is farther away and the cabin faces his cool pound with a dock!

Susan's setup is incredibly thoughtful. Cozy, sweet accommodations, lots of open space and privacy, and so many wonderful animal friends! The weather ended up being much colder than we anticipated when we visited. If you're visiting in cooler temps, plan ahead with extra bedding and layers. I imagine the yurt is gloriously shaded in the warmer months. Our kids loved the open space to run and play, and we spent several hours enjoying the creek, as well. This is a lovely spot for any animal lover to reconnect with nature.

I only did a short stay but I love how simple and affordable this campsite was. Didn’t get much time with the animals because I was just passing through but this would be a great place for a family of any size to enjoy together!

Our stay at Susan’s place was fantastic! She was incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially when we had to check in late. The camp was well-equipped with everything we needed, and having firewood already set up was a great touch. The real highlight, though, was the farm animals! After a long trip with multiple stops, this was our kids’ absolute favorite stay. Getting to spend time with the horses and other animals made it such a memorable experience.

5 nights at Retreat to the Country

Every corner of this property is touched with Love. For me, it was a haven, a sanctuary to read, write, meditate, and really commune with Nature and the glorious stars. The yurt is perfectly located to experience the sunrise and sunset. The moon and stars seem to prefer hanging out over the deck. The trail is just enough, and the creek is a gurgling joy. Bill is a great host, willing to do whatever you want, or stay the heck away. He created this/these gloriously special spaces FOR US. When you go, be sure to read the guest book when you arrive so you can benefit from all the good energy and experiences that have made being there heart opening and, quite frankly, sacred. And, of course, if you are willing to allow it, you will have a best friend in Cleopatra the cat. One hint: park on the drive to the upside of the yurt/trail unless you have 4 wheel drive (wink).

This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Less than 20 minutes away from I-70, just over 30 minutes from Columbia, MO. Located close to Missouri river access at Lupus, and is approx 10 minutes away from Plowboy Bend Conservation Area, Prairie Home Conservation Area, and Big Muddy NWR. There is one twin bed on ground level and a twin and full bed in the loft, option to move full mattress to the floor. Family friendly, pets must be on a leash at all times (we have katadhin sheep, Irish Dexter cattle, plus many more).
