A Rustic road courses along with the creek and several offshoots for mountain biking or hiking. The waterfall and pool are a 1/2 mile hike into the property on the primitive road. Gravel is only provided at the entrance area, encircling the metal shed. Any driving off the gravel runs a risk of getting stuck in the slippery clay/mud. What an amazing campsite. Scott, the host, was incredible and super friendly and knowledgable. There is a beautiful lake on site where campers can fish and hike, and the place is super clean, quiet, and secluded. The amenities are super clean and pleasant. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely come back and visit Scott and his campsite.

Scott was very respectful, and we felt safe at Black River Campsite. He was very committed to making the camping experience a good one. The road coming in is a bit bumpy and tough in a vehicle with low ground clearance, but not impossible. Just gotta take it slow. The site was perfectly level and good for a car camper. Showers were awesome, warm, and he keeps things very clean! Gorgeous views too and nice little hiking trails, fishing spots.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The site was flat and easy to get in and out of with my trailer. The shower house and bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean. The location is beautiful and the dog park was such a great bonus. My furry kids loved to have a place to run art and blow off some steam.

We had a great stay. We pitched our tent close to the entrance for the use of electricity. There was lots of clutter around and the grass needed cutting, but we made the best of it. If it were a little cooler we would have definitely camped closer to the small swimming hole. We stayed 2 nights. Vincent was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to messages. Great place for an overnight stay with a small RV or if you want to pitch a tent in the woods for a night.

Spent 1 night on our way back home to Louisiana. Easy to find day/night (we arrived after dark), it’s ,secure, secluded, perfect for a tent or a self-contained RV. We were in a 32’ motor home and had no problem getting in/out of the property. There’s an awesome creek with couple of waterfalls. There’s a 3’ waterfall. that you could put a float or two in the 4’ pool below and just lose yourself in the beauty and peacefulness of nature there. I got in the creek and walked it a bit. I would’ve had my float in that pool if, we didn’t have to head back home. The stars are beautiful in the evening. My husband & I, are looking forward to planning a trip back in the near future to spend a whole weekend enjoying the property & creek. Perfect place to get away from everything and yet, near to stores and interstate

This was our first time at a HIPCAMP campground. The site was great! Big and flat with nice views of the cornfields. It rained the whole time we were there so the dirt road to the campground was very muddy. The storm knocked out the electricity not long after we got there and we spent the night without electricity and the next morning, the water we were hooked up to, ran out of water.🙅‍♀️
