The 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin has an open floor plan in the den and kitchen, a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, and twin beds in the second bedroom, with a roll-away daybed available. A pack-n-play is available upon request. The bathroom is handicapped accessible. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, full-size refrigerator, and microwave. There is no dishwasher. There is a flat-screen TV in both the den and the master bedroom with Directv. We have WIFI available.

Guest access
Sweet Olive Cabin can be a little difficult to find, especially in the dark. A GPS will get you close. The cabin is close to the road, Blossom Hill Rd. If you are coming in from the north, the cabin will be on the right. If coming in from the south, it will be on the left. Let me know If your eta is after dark, and I can leave the porch lights on for you.
Other things to note
Scott County is a dry county with beer available for sale or beer and alcohol for dining in at some locations.
Sweet Olive Cabin is not a “pet-friendly” property. We do, however, make an exception for registered service animals with an additional $25 fee.
In Forest (5-8 miles), there is Vowell’s grocery store, Walmart, and many fast food restaurants. For eating in, try Foothills lunch/dinner with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking for some genuine southern cooking, there’s The Garden Patch (open till 2 pm M-Th).

77 acres of rolling hills along the headwaters of Haley's Creek with a 1 m waterfall into a 4-ft deep pool and beautiful hardwood and pine forest all around. A Rustic road courses along with the creek and several offshoots for mountain biking or hiking. The waterfall and pool are a 1/2 mile hike into the property on the primitive road. Gravel is only provided at the entrance area, encircling the metal shed. Any driving off the gravel runs a risk of getting stuck in the slippery clay/mud. Rainwater barrels and 110 electricity are available at the metal shed. Our cottages, named Kudzu and Willow, were built in 2021-2022 and are approximately 336 square feet. Enjoy sitting outside during the day, soaking up the beautiful sounds of nature and the starry skies at night. Our property is gated for safety, super private, and quiet!

We have two cottages sitting close to each other; this is the area you have access to. We have a larger building on the property as well, and you will see people coming and going using the common driveway. Park close to your specific cottage and avoid blocking the common space in between the two cottages.

I went tent camping on Vincent’s land. The hike through the stream to the waterfall was beautiful. There’s plenty of space to setup, power available and an outdoor covered pavilion behind the metal building. The noise from the road and railroad is noticeable, but the convenience of the site balances that out. You can take a short, easy hike into to the woods to get away from it all.

This was one of the coolest Hipcamps I’ve ever stayed at! Huge property to explore and a lot of friendly animals to see! It was actually very quiet at night and in the morning (didn’t get woken up by any of the animals) and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t smell like a ranch lol. Austin the host was communicative and answered any questions we had. If I’m ever in the area I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Love from Chicago! <3

Austin has such a wonderful space! Upon arrival he greeted us and gave us a tour of the barn and animal stables. The ranch was easy to find and has a spacious driveway suitable for car camping. There are also several tent sites available, one of which was under a covered area with lights and an outdoor space heater. Bathrooms were inside with flushing toilets, heat, and lights- a camping luxury to us. We couldn't have been more grateful for the roof and made it through a rough storm shacked up with the incredibly friendly animals. Pet friendly, our 60lb dog had just as much fun looking at the animals as we did. We are looking forward to another stay if we're ever in the area.

We had an amazing tent camping trip with the most peaceful country views. Waking up in the morning to open skies, fresh air, and the sound of nature was exactly what we needed. The pond was absolutely beautiful — calm, clean, and perfect for fishing. We spent hours casting lines and just soaking in the quiet surroundings.

Mr. Austin stayed in contact even before the trip...We enjoyed interacting with the animals and were hoping to do the horseback riding but it rained. This place is 1000/10! We only overnighted at Wendy Oaks. It was a great, easily accessed campground for us. I add that as we travel with a small trailer and a U-turn was necessary. The trees and lake made me feel like I was in a camp ground, Unfortunately it rained all night and we skipped the hike around the lake. Our site was gravel but level.
