A Rustic road courses along with the creek and several offshoots for mountain biking or hiking. The waterfall and pool are a 1/2 mile hike into the property on the primitive road. Gravel is only provided at the entrance area, encircling the metal shed. Any driving off the gravel runs a risk of getting stuck in the slippery clay/mud. Guest access
Sweet Olive Cabin can be a little difficult to find, especially in the dark. A GPS will get you close. The cabin is close to the road, Blossom Hill Rd. If you are coming in from the north, the cabin will be on the right. If coming in from the south, it will be on the left. Let me know If your eta is after dark, and I can leave the porch lights on for you.
Other things to note
Scott County is a dry county with beer available for sale or beer and alcohol for dining in at some locations.
Sweet Olive Cabin is not a “pet-friendly” property. We do, however, make an exception for registered service animals with an additional $25 fee.
In Forest (5-8 miles), there is Vowell’s grocery store, Walmart, and many fast food restaurants. For eating in, try Foothills lunch/dinner with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking for some genuine southern cooking, there’s The Garden Patch (open till 2 pm M-Th).

I went tent camping on Vincent’s land. The hike through the stream to the waterfall was beautiful. There’s plenty of space to setup, power available and an outdoor covered pavilion behind the metal building. The noise from the road and railroad is noticeable, but the convenience of the site balances that out. You can take a short, easy hike into to the woods to get away from it all.

Great stop for camping. Small park - dozen or so sites - Scott is excellent host, hard working guy keeping a secure well manicured campground. A full bathroom available with HOT water - very clean, very convenient. Typical road noise, as Hwy 20 nearby, settles down at night.
Usual RV lanes, but if you are tent camping - THIS IS THE PLACE! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We pitched our tent on a covered pad (#5 ?) next to Scott’s fish pond - excellent spot - Thanks for the hospitality!!

This was one of the coolest Hipcamps I’ve ever stayed at! Huge property to explore and a lot of friendly animals to see! It was actually very quiet at night and in the morning (didn’t get woken up by any of the animals) and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t smell like a ranch lol. Austin the host was communicative and answered any questions we had. If I’m ever in the area I’d stay here again in a heartbeat! Love from Chicago! <3

Loved our stay! Took my son tent camping and thoroughly enjoyed the campground. Jon is an amazing host and made sure our stay was top notch. The sites were clean, well taken care of and the scenery was fantastic. We didn’t pack any fishing gear on this trip, but we will definitely remember to pack it the next time we visit. Austin has such a wonderful space! Upon arrival he greeted us and gave us a tour of the barn and animal stables. The ranch was easy to find and has a spacious driveway suitable for car camping. There are also several tent sites available, one of which was under a covered area with lights and an outdoor space heater. Bathrooms were inside with flushing toilets, heat, and lights- a camping luxury to us. We couldn't have been more grateful for the roof and made it through a rough storm shacked up with the incredibly friendly animals. Pet friendly, our 60lb dog had just as much fun looking at the animals as we did. We are looking forward to another stay if we're ever in the area.
